Looked forward to having a night out. Have had brunch here in the past and was pleased. Service was mediocre at best. Restaurant was not terribly busy for a Saturday night. One of the meal was forgotten about and we ended up sharing one. The second meal was delivered by a manager about the time we were finishing. No explanation just "we took it off your bill" The parking lot attendant was much more attentive to our needs than the restaurant staff
Extensive list of beer on tap, nice selection of wines by the glass or bottle, all chosen to compliment the food. Many shareable dishes as well as half-sizes so easy to customize your meal. Shaved Brussels sprouts salad was delicious as was the pork loin. Very prompt service for a Saturday night, too! I’d come back every week if I lived in Dallas.
Celebrated a birthday dinner here, and it worked out wonderfully. Great waitstaff, cozy atmosphere, and off-the-chain food and bev. Can't wait to do it again!
Bloody Marys were good!
We loved everything about this place. If there was more than one vegan option that would’ve made it even better. I want to go back but I would have yo get the same thing every time.
I loved it! Healthy, high quality food. I’ll be back the next time I’m at the market.
Love this place, their beer selection is amazing. Great place for brunch as well!
We sat outside to maximize social distancing; service was terrific. MM may have the most perfectly done seafood… three dishes, each of which were perfect. And that was after 2 appetizers. We love MM
We decided to order several shareables rather than three entrees so that we could try more since this was our visit time dining at Meddlesome Moth. We ordered the sirloin skewers, bleu cheese chips, house hummus, and moth balls. We loved everything, but the Moth Balls were not what we were expecting.
Still being hungry, we ordered a large Caesar for the table, and we were not in love with the Romain rib style salad, and there was little to no dressing. For desert, we ordered the Chocolate Pot and the TX Olive Oil Cake. We thought the olive oil cake was very dry, but the Chocolate Pot was tasty.
Overall, we enjoyed the ambiance of Meddlesome Moth and I can’t wait to recommend this restaurant to some of my foodie friends.
Been coming here for years. Every time we are in Dallas we made it a point to stop by. Last couple times which were a few month apart, the food quality as well as the service got a lot worst. Noticeably worst! To the point we will most likely never come back here again.
Last night’s meal took about an hour to get to our table. Once it did, everything was way over salted. We are not once to complain to the waitress/waiter, but this time we had to say something. Pork belly was uneatable as well as the salty and not sweet corn bread. What a bummer!
Also we ordered one of our favorite dishes, bone marrow. When it came out there was nothing in the bone. $19 for 2 slices of bread and burnt/empty bone marrow. Very disappointing!
Lastly… our all time favorite dish from this restaurant was always the duck wings…. Well those are off the menu…
About the service, our waitress was very sweet but once our order was placed… we didn’t see her at all. Waters were empty as well as cocktails. We still tipped her well because she was very nice and noticeably new to the industry… but wish the manager would step in and help her.
Al in all… will not be back to one of our favorite restaurants in Dallas. :(
It was ok but it definitely wouldn't be some place I had to come back too
Ambiance was the nic
Excellent from start to finish. Every dish was perfect. We were visiting from out of town and this was a great night of food and wine.
Excellent service and wide variety of beer for beer flights. Portions are larger than normal for sharing. Chicken skin, ribeeye, shrimp and grits and cioppino were excellent. I would pass on the shaved Brussels salad and pork ribs - both without much flavor.
Good was very good. Atmosphere and service were pretty average. If you’re a beer person, tons of options.
On point as always. The Moth never disappoints. Food and service was exceptional.
The service was really good, quick with drink and food orders. We went for brunch and all four of us had really great sandwiches. I had specialty cocktail Flew The Coop and it was perfect. I love this place and come often for a casual, delicious lunch with friends.
The egg salad sandwich was horrible but the salad that accompanied it was delish. The other two diners enjoyed their choices - buttermilk waffle for one and biscuits and gravy and grits for the other. I should have gone with the grilled cheese and soup. That is always a winner for me.
We had a wonderful time at Meddlesome Moth on Christmas Eve. The food and the service were perfect. Thank you for being open for us wayward Christmas families. Happy Holidays
Always enjoy our visits here. Food is surprisingly good for a place that also has a great bar and beer selection.
My favorite restaurant in Dallas. Food is so unique, unusual and fantastic.
This is how a restaurant should be run. Great front of room with a smiling accommodative hostess, friendly knowledgeable server willing to give you time to relax and read the menu and of most importance the food was amazing. Had not been here in awhile but will return more often. Thank you.
The Mother and Daughter Reunion is crazy good enough for two or two meals, that’s what I did👍the chicken was so tender and cheddar grits perfect with perfect medium to soft scrambled eggs😊I rate it a 5++
Meddlesome Moth has consistently put forth amazing food and service. It is our favorite brunch spot, and they have the best burger in town. I was happy to see new menu items, but glad they didn’t get rid of some of what I am sure are customer favorites.
Fantastic food & well worth the wait. Service was very good, especially considering how busy they got just after we arrived. In addition to fantastic food, we were impressed by the drink offerings, from excellent coffee to delicious mimosas.
My husband and I met our kids for an impromptu pre-holiday celebration. As always, valet parking was quick and convenient. We were seated promptly and then the best bartender in Dallas Josh came to say hello and made his beer and cocktail recommendations. As usual he was spot on. Our appetizers - steak skewers were awesome and the pimento cheese was different but really good. My husband had the burger and I had the chicken special. Everyone was happy with their meals. We love Meddlesome Moth and will return soon I hope!
Historically have really enjoyed Meddlesome Moth - especially their brunch, but last night’a meal was a struggle.
The place was packed too the point that getting to the table was a challenge and a server ran into and nearly tripped my partner on the way to the table.
We went to order drinks and they were out of the beer we wanted, then we ordered appetizers and the waitress had to return to say they were out of that appetizer, and then we ordered entrees and 5 minutes after ordering the waitress came back (without a menu) to say they were out of one of the entrees as well. What a struggle!
Once we got the food:
- risotto balls lacked flavor
- the burger is good, but the fries were all tiny (compared to the crumbs at the bottom of the ruffles bag
- house salad was adequate- not a ton of flavor
- soup of the day was good, but it was delivered quite a while after the rest of the entrees
The manager did comp our drinks for the challenges and the effort was greatly appreciated, but even with that we walked out with a very “meh” impression.
Hope they can get the equation right with proper staffing, the right number of tables / guests, and correct ordering amounts to solve this in the future.
Delicious food and some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. We went here for our anniversary and we’re spoiled. Our favorite by far was the potato aligot! It was so rich, creamy, soft and tasty. We thoroughly e joyed our experience from the complimentary valet to the thoughtful anniversary dessert.
Terrible hostess…. We arrived 30 minutes early with complete party … checked in… lots of empty tables… sat at bar… checked in again … told it would be a while …table of three without reservations came in sat next to us at the bar and were seated before we were…we’re now well after our promised reservation and still lots of empty tables…we went up to hostess a third time and she told us she’d just texted us because she couldn’t remember what we looked like!…no more than ten people in the bar to ask ….we weren’t expecting a text… had phone in my pocket…no prior info that she would use text and we wouldn’t have heard it over the drone of the noise in the restaurant unless she’d warned us to have our phone out of our pocket to be expecting it… we never shared our phone number with her… she never asked us for it… got it from open table…I didn’t eat.. so turned off by the whole abuse and would have left if not there with friends… too many good restaurants in Dallas to endure treatment like this…every one in our group appalled … we’ll not be coming back
Interesting menu - something delicious for everyone. Ribeye was well prepared.
Food wasn’t hot, waitress was neither friendly nor helpful.
We had the fish and chips and the fried chicken...both were excellent. Cool joint and free valet...pretty sweet deal they got going on
Amazing experience and food! Loved it!
It’s very noisy outside but everything else is great
Lindsay was great!!!
Always great food and service. Their poor 2 man valets were struggling with volume but I wasn’t in a hurry so it was all good.
Went for brunch and everything we ordered was delicious. The fried chicken is in numerous brunch menu items and it’s great. Favorites were the Mother and Child Reunion and the buttermilk biscuits with chicken.
Starters and sides were amazing, cocktails, whiskey, and beer selection were incredible, and our waiter was great. Our entrees were lacking in flavor however. Overall it was a good experience, just wish the food was a little better, or maybe just stay away from the burger. The ambiance and the vibe of this place will probably make me want to come back.
Great service, great food, came out super fast and the space is beautiful!
