Meddlesome Moth Ratings and Reviews
Meddlesome Moth was a total shot in the dark- I was in Dallas for one night and went on a whim. We ended up having one of the most memorable meals of our lives.
The location is beautiful. You’re in the design district so you’re surrounded by art and high end furniture stores. The restaurant has valet but we found street parking pretty quickly.
The hostesses were very sweet, we were seated under a stained glass Jerry Lee Lewis :) The restaurant was dim and the stained glass really popped. Oh and minor detail but the bathrooms were cute haha
Our server was outstanding. I always wish I remembered peoples names but she was a young woman with a great attitude and very knowledgeable about the menu. We don’t drink so the pairings suggested on the menu weren’t relevant for us but I am sure a beer lover would be psyched.
We ordered blue cheese chips (OMG), mussels (both the chorizo and the lemon). The mussels and broth were so good, I’d fly back to Dallas just for dinner ;)
What was just a quick bite to eat became a really special night because of the quality of the service and food. I can’t say I leave many reviews but I am happy to spread the gospel of the Moth.
This place was FANTASTIC. Unfamiliar with the area, we looked over a bunch of options we saw and threw a dart to choose the MM.
And we were thrilled.
Our server Christian was terrific, the food was awesome (hamburger, rib eye, fish n chips, Cesar salad, bone marrow & jumbo shrimp apps), and the beer menu was extensive and delicious - do the tasting menu.
Can’t recommend it enough.
Wanted a nice Christmas Day dinner with the family. The burger and fries portion was so big that my daughter lost her appetite before even taking a bite. The restaurant was darker than I like. But my husband enjoyed the beer selection. Definitely more casual than I anticipated.
The Moth never disappoints. Knowledgeable service, great food to share or hoard (oh, those ribs!) and casual, cozy ambiance make for a great night out with friends. We've been here often over the years, and they could use some new menu items, but the beer options make up for that.
This place was great. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly, the food was so good it was ridiculous, and great ambiance. We had the moth balls as an appetizer, my wife had the wagyu beef tartare (delish), and I had the Nueske's Bacon (out of this world). We shared everything... Until the dessert. The pecan sticky buns I had were absolutely phenomenal, and my wife had the chocolate mousse. All in all, quite possibly the best restauranr experience I've ever had.
nice clean place with good atmosphere. Superior beer selection. Food was good, not great. Pig& Fig, and Crispy sweetbread plates were pretty much fat and little meat. Burger was above average. I will probably go back, but not before I hit a few other places.
I thought it was okay. The booths by the bar are a little weird because there are people literally eating and drinking right by your head.
Had the lamb skewers which I thought were under seasoned, the New Orleans bbq shrimp which I wish were cleaned, the duck ham deviled eggs and confit duck wings which were both good. The wings are actually legs in a buffalo sauce.
I went in not knowing what to expect and it was an interesting experience. The staff were very cordial and nice.
I definitely want to give it another try, maybe for brunch.
