Great time having our girlfriends Christmas Brunch!
We sat outside. It was quiet and sunny at a fairly early brunch-time. Service was not lessened by being outside the main dining room. Dependably solid dishes (especially Mother and Child Reunion & the hash) that we come back for again and again. This is a great place to sit at the bar with a rare beer, but hard for this visit with four people this time.
Fabulous brunch! My husband ordered the mother and child reunion and said it was the best rendition of that dish he’s had.
My friend and I ordered two dinners to share. The plates we were given to serve onto were very cold. I asked if they had warm plates and was told , “not really”.
The shrimp and grits were ok, but we have had much better at a chain restaurant. The scallop dish was severed with a heavy cream sauce. We did not expect this. I am not certain if the menu defined the sauce. I felt like the meal was much to heavy. We took recommendations from our waitress.
Great place for about any occasion.
Great food and service
We went on a Sunday right after the lunch brunch. Maybe I should have done more research before going but I really did not like the overall darkness of the restaurant, especially on a sunny afternoon but that one is on me. I like restaurants that don’t have a catalogue of items to order from because the items they usually have are more specialty. This was not the case here. I can’t say it was bad but I definitely would not go back.
Annual Dallas Thanksgiving trip, Saturday brunch heading home. LOVED the brunch! Everything was delicious! The service was fantastic! I highly recommend for brunch. May be the best we’ve had in Dallas. Will be back!
Fun atmosphere with great food. Attentive service. Highly recommend.
The MM is always great for a Sunday Brunch. There are always unique dishes on the menu and the brew selection is great. Can't wait to go back!
Amazing shareable plates, subtly cooked and a truly world class draft beer list
We went for the Thai mussels.
However, we were told later that Thai mussels were only available at night.
We were very disappointed....
Our drinks were great although with the food.
It was a busy brunch time and service was a bit slow.
I’ve been here many times and only tried the mother and child reunion because it’s so good that I never want to order anything else!
We brought some friends with us for brunch on Sunday. They had never been to the Moth and none of us had been there for brunch. We had a wonderful meal with delicious food, good service and a lively ambiance before heading down the street to the Kalita Humphrey Theater to see the last performance of "Ann". A perfect Sunday! Thanks.
Food was hardly warm and service dismissive. Would only consider returning for a beer at the bar, that seems to be the only highlight.
Great beer selection
Wade was a great waiter and all the food items we chose were outstanding. We will return!
This was our third and probably last visit. First two, memorable and delicious. This visit, not delicious. Food seemed tired and “over presented”. First few times the service and food vied for first place. At least the service has remained good.
Great as always
First visit and won’t be last
We were treating a person very special to us and hoped she would enjoy Meddlesome Moth as much as we have. She loved everything and is now planning her birthday dinner at this restaurant. We shared the mixed greens salad, hummus, steak sticks, scallops and banana bread pudding. All dishes were so delicious I can’t pick a favorite, however the melt in your mouth tenderness of the steak is well worth noting as well as the scallop preparation. The one big disappointment was the “featured” Old Fashioned. It’s the one drink my husband consistently orders. He said it tasted like bourbon and club soda. There was nothing muddled, no cherries, no orange. Such a contrast to cocktails we’ve had before here.
Delicious small plates, noise level difficult for 3 people ( had to turn your head to one leaving the other out due to noise). Good service
The personnel were exceptional. Hostess and server were both friendly and professional. My friend enjoyed the shrimp and grits, even though she was hoping they would be spicer. I ordered the seared scallops, which were perfectly cooked and accompanied by an interesting and delicious combination of corn, fava beans and what I believe was pearl couscous. Both these dishes are on the "sharable" section of the menu, but were the right size for an entree. The prices are a tad high, but the food quality is well above average, as is the staff. We will be back!
Our waitress, Farrah, made the dining experience super. She was fantastic!
Good food and wonderful drinks!
We have been for lunch a number of times at the weekend. Went for lunch last Saturday. Disappointed to learn that they now only do their brunch menu on weekends. Not that the brunch menu is bad, but we had been looking forward to items off their lunch menu. Also the place was less than half full, which was very unusual. Don't know if that is a reflection of the menu decision.
Still enjoyed it, as their food is always fresh and well prepared.
Always great food n service. Great for sharing plates and special occasions
Great food, very diverse with unique choices. Excellent service. I would highly recommend trying them for a special night out!!
Great food and tasty variety
We went on a Friday night. Prices are fair. Food is amazingly good! The shrimp and grits...nice size shrimp that was seasoned and cooked perfectly; grits were flavorful and silky smooth. Hummus, smooth with spices on top, which I think was cumin and chili powder...different but tasty! 44 Farms steak frites... Steak melted in your mouth and fries are the best we've ever had. Burger...nice size, flavorful and so juicy (good we had a cloth napkin!) Sheep herders pie...perfectly blend of flavor with short rib (tender!), bacon and veggies. Mashed taters on top flavored with horseradish, which if you don't like go with someone who does because it's delish! Choose beer for your liking, for stout we had Shannon's Chocolate, bold and tasty. And don't forget dessert! We 4 split the bread pudding/loaf with caramel sauce...spiceful decadence with vanilla bean ice cream. Service was above and beyond...Wade our waiter was fantastic! Only drawback was it is crowd loud, so this is not a place for a quaint conversation. We're already planning our next trip back to try the rest of the menu. 😊👍
Boisterous fun with an excellent and inventive menu. We shared a large meat and cheese platter (The Hungry Farmer), piquant Barbecue Shrimp and a subtly spiced steamed broccolini. No room for dessert sadly, but we'll definitely be back
The food has really improved
Waiter was rude/condescending, didn’t check on us at all, our glasses of water stayed empty for quite some time. Patio was nice, food was good. Hostess staff not very friendly either. The young lady who brought our food out was the nicest person there.
The place is beautiful, drinks were great!! Ambience was super cool too but, service was REALLY slow. It got to the point where everyone’s drinks were done and not even water was offered. We ordered our food and it did not show up until about 30 min later, maybe even more. It seemed like it was re heated too because my eggs were well done and, they were suppose to be runny. It’s a shame, a great place with slow service. Hope the next time I go service is better, and nicer!
Great food and great atmosphere.
Popped in last minute and got a great table. Food is outstanding, can’t get over the pork belly! Service was wonderful and we had a great time! Will return ❤️
Service, food, atmosphere was great! Acoustics within restaurant can be better as it was hard to have conversations.
The Wednesday crowd was the perfect size and the shareables were awesome. Highly recommend to all that end up in the Design District.
