Set within Oxford street which in itself is a great location, Medbar restaurant is a little known place serving incredible Mediterranean food. This was our second occasion eating there and we ordered the meat and the seafood platter - these were sharing dishes for two but were more than enough food for main courses. Portion sizes are not for the fainthearted and the quality we found both times to be second to none! The atmosphere is mellow and the decor is attractive and authentic making it a great place for couples or groups to eat of an evening, they also have a great drinks menu with a wealth of wines and cocktails. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven't already, and with such reasonable pricing it is suitable for any occasion, lunch or dinner.

Had a lovely evening here, the food was excellent but the staff made it. Three Portuguese staff made us feel very welcome and treated us like VIPs. Would highly recommend it.

restaurant was empty, staff didn't know the menu saying it had been changed and to top that they tried to overcharge the menu price. needless to say i won't be going back although the food was resonable.

First time of use , very enjoyable, restaurant was very quiet, especially for a Friday night. Food was good, Greek salad, bread and oil, and Greek dips, then paella, about the right amount of paella. Service was good. Would go again. Wine reasonable.

My friends from Scotland were most impressed by Medbar La Penthouse for our early evening pre cruise meal. The menu choices, food and service are to be highly recommended.

Received a mail shot showing nice fish menu and free bottle of wine - menu looked good so made on line booking. All good. Arrived at restaurant and greeted at door. Nice touch. Informed the person we had reservation. No-one asked our surname. Taken upstairs and to table. I had to inform the waiter we had booked and that the "deal" came with free wine. No quibble - he went and got our drinks and food order. We both had fish. First time I had tried Turbot. Not keen and the vegetables that accompanied were let down by the potatoes. Restaurant has nice ambience and the staff are very good. We will go back. Hope the food improves.
