It was before the saenger theatre
Inventive cocktails. Great apps. Spot on bistro classic for mains. Great service from Adam greeting us at the door and service from Marcus.
Great seafood suggestions from our knowledgeable server. If you go, don’t be in a hurry!
Excellent as always. We are proud to have Meauxbar in the neighborhood.
This is a wonderful restaurant, with terrific food and superb service. However the ambient noise level is unbearable. The house PA system playing in the background, coupled with the very hard surfaces, and the proximity of the tables to each other makes for an unpleasant experience for trying to carry on a conversation. Everyone must raise their voice ,making it all the louder. At a minimum they could turn off the background music. In addition they could put hangings on the walls and elsewhere to soften the surfaces off which the noise reflects.
The service was amazing . The food was so good . Those Deviled eggs !!
Super delicious food and wine. Service was friendly, well-timed and gracious as always.
This was our second time here and it was just absolutely delicious as it were the first visit. Their steak with frites is beyond delicious! I had their fish special and it was yummy.
Great meal, beautiful space
Host was delightful and set a good tone. Food was delicious. Enjoyed the duck fat popcorn and grilled cheese. Wife enjoyed bone marrow and steak. Were seated at table with a fly and blinded by setting sun. (Curtain didn't officially slide over but we found a way). Service was great until they got busy. Took awhile to offer dessert and then simple creme brulee didn't come for thirty minutes. Would definitely go again as the negatives were relatively minor/easily fixable.
Modern, comfortable, clean. Friendly service, food is innovative and tasty. Price for appetizer is a bit high, but entree is reasonable enough to balance it. The four things we ordered, Chesse
Morazella with crab meat and humus, the beef brisket, a bit like sliders with fresh salad, proportionwise plentiful; Yak ka Men, with shrimp, beef, great broth, would not do harm to add a bit more noodles to it;fries, tasty, easy on the salt would be better. All 4 dishes have convinced me that this a place to recommend. Keep up the good work, buddies.
We had such high hopes, but this restaurant did not meet them. The service was fine (not good, fine); our server was perfectly adequate, but certainly not nice or accommodating. The menu was not even remotely vegetarian friendly, and she made no attempt to suggest accommodations (BTW, chefs, can you be a little more creative that pasta? Just because we don't eat meat does not mean we are 7 years old. And don't get salty about it. Do you realize that every single restaurant we go to tells us "well, we have pasta?").
The cheese platter was so pedestrian as to be embarrassing. A cheddar that was fine, but not particularly interesting. A manchego of questionable age, and a blue. Not a balanced plate. The cashews had been candied, but someone either put them in the fridge or didn't get the caramelized coating to hard crack stage, because they were sticky and a bit chewy. Yuck. The toasts (toasted baguette) were difficult to cut with teeth. Coming from the SF Bay area, where we know cheese, this plate had so much wrong with it. So mundane.
The salad was fine, but seemed heavy on fennel.
My son had the chicken liver (presentation fair, flavor good, but kind of over the top). He also had the lamb gnocchi, which was well presented, but under salted. My first glass of rose came with lipstick marks on it and I had to send it back. After that, we got lukewarm service (as if the lipstick issue was my fault).
Vibe was trying to be hip, but didn't make it. Won't recommend it. Won't go back. But they don't need my input -- seems plenty of other people were impressed.
Wonderful experience. Everybody really enjoyed their food and they have really well executed cocktails.
Had Easter brunch with my family today. My kids...finnicky eaters were luke warm on the food, but I thought it was great. A bit slow service, but was fine with it considering it was Easter. Great ambiance and classy. Donuts were spectacular as was the French toast.
Outstanding meal paired with professional staff, the seared scallops were tender AF and the shrimp salad was so flavorful.
Fantastic food and great ambiance. Good for date night but we went for bachelorette party- just 6 people. Service was excellent.
Tasty, clean, and fresh food. Nice relaxing dinner off rampart st. Not too close to all the action but not too far away either. The French Onion Grilled Cheese was like French onion soup in a sandwich.
We were in NOLA on vacation. Food was very good but The wine was very expensive. I had the steak and parmesan frites. Steak was well cooked but small, the plate was covered in frites not much parmesan. The gnocchi my daughter ordered were unnecessarily spicey. My husbands black drum almandine was excellent. The creme brûlée for dessert was excellent
We really enjoyed our experience here. The restaurant was low key compared to many other spots in the FQ. It felt like a spot locals would enjoy. My gnocchi was excellent and my husband loved his scallops. Thanks for the great service.
Excellent food and staff
Overall we really enjoyed our meal. Nothing out of this world, but nothing out of place. Fully deserves 4 stars
An excellent find amongst many outstanding choices. Why I am so happy we went to Meauxbar includes the excellently curated menu, great wine selection, and a terrific cocktail list. I also like the fact that you can get delicious food that wasn’t heavy, and did t make you feel completely stuffed when you left. The restaurant was not too crowded, which made conversation easy. It felt like an undiscovered gem. Highly regarded and recommended.
Another A+ experience at Meaux Bar. The liver pate’, Blackeyed pea hummus, smoked fish appetizer was excellent. The carpaccio was changed to tartare and did not disappoint. The black drum almandine was the best preparation we had ever had. As good as that was the Yama mein (shrimp and bacon) was so flavorful that I’m craving it again and want to go back today. Service was impeccable. Thank you Meaux Bar; excellent in every way!
Attentive service, knowledgeable staff, delicious cocktails and innovative mock tails. Food was amazing.
Very accommodating to get us served and to the Saengar in time for the theater. Excellent execution of each dish. Beef tartar was a standout.
Took FOREVER to come out, but was seriously phenomenal. Worth the wait.
Food was good, place was easy to find, a little on the pricey end. Was fairly loud inside as well. I’d go back again.
Cozy, romantic little spot with friendly service and creative fare. We especially liked the pickled shrimp salad and the gulf fish almandine, which were excellent.
Flavorful, fresh, creative food. We loved it. The appetizers were so interesting that we ended up ordering several. It was a feast. Can't wait to go back. Get a window seat and enjoy the passing parade of French Quarter folks coming and going. Service was friendly and excellent.
My favorite restaurant in NOLA...
The food was excellent. Great atmosphere and service.
The drinks were amazing with a very knowledgeable bar tender. Food was ok to just bad. The duck was ok definately not over the top great. The fish amandine was so terribly salty it was almost inedible. I would only consider going there again for drinks and a cheese plate. But since Nola has amazing restaurants that can do it all- I’ll skip a second visit to meauxbar.
Great restaurant, but don't go late on a Sunday evening. They were out of so many entrees we wanted that we finally asked them to tell us what they did have. Also out of one of the desserts we wanted. Otherwise, this is a great little restaurant.
Great food. Noisy neighborhood bistro. Great staff
Great service and excellent food.
Service was great, very romantic in a casual way, Food was best we had in N.O. more of a local place slightly away from the usual tourist spots. Would go back again .
Awesome spot, always head to Meauxbar when I am in NOLA!
Wonderful menu with everything prepared from scratch.
Perfectly prepared and served!
Excellent service and delicious food!
Service is always spectacular. The food goes way beyond the best restaurants in New Orleans. It’s nice to have a great French Quarter neighborhood restaurant where people still wear a sport coat and enjoy fine dining. I’m glad it’s more of a neighborhood secret than a tourist spot..
