Celebrated my wife’s birthday. Food and service was excellent. A special b’day desert with candle was a nice touch. First time there and will definitely return.
Great restaurant and great food - very expensive but the food was delicious so you pay for the taste. The staff were lovely and the restaurant was really high end
My husband had been to Meat a few times with the boys. He was driving me nuts talking about how good it was. We finally had the opportunity to go there with some friends on Monday night. The whole experience was flawless. The restaurant was fairly empty probably because it was Monday night. We were seated right away and given a booth on the ocean front which was lovely. Santa Monica can get quite chilly at night, but we were seated next to the fire and it wasn’t even necessary to turn on the heaters. I would also have been happy sitting elsewhere in the restaurant as the tables are not too crowded in on each other. That seems to be a common problem these days and I don’t like not being able to hear the conversation properly. The service was impeccable and the food was to die for. The 30 day dry-aged porterhouse was unbelievably good. Not too gamey and melt in your mouth buttery. Sides were excellent too. The price was very fair, particularly given the extremely high quality of the food and service. Can’t wait to go back!!!
I'll start by saying we have high standards, but for a $300 meal for two people, I think we are justified. In the end, we did have a very nice evening, though there were just a few flaws which really let the restaurant down. On the plus side, our waitress was great, and gave us helpful recommendations, and the Charcuterie and cocktails were solid. However, the wedge was ridiculously over-dressed, the mushroom side was tasty but served in a pitifully small portion, the Spinach was unmentionable only because we were told that they had run out AS our Entree was being served, and finally, the artisanal 45d dry-aged porterhouse was well cooked, but tasted really just average. Especially disappointing for a restaurant called "MEAT" - they should really wow us given how much energy they seem to put into the selection and preparation. However, the thing which really ruined what should have been a high-end experience was the bar in the middle of the restaurant with 3 TV screens showing a Baseball game. Not exactly Anniversary date ambiance.

We love the place, didn’t hesitate with parking because the valet Parking was available, our waitress was the best and assistants so one of the managers came and greet us. We had a memorable time.

Requested a booth for a birthday dinner didn't get that. Our server was constantly asking if we were done with our meal, which we clearly were not. Unless most people leave after a half eaten steak. I even asked my girlfriend "Do you think they need our plates?" Felt pretty rushed, even though the restaurant was maybe at 40% occupancy. For nearly a $200 meal for two people, the overall experience should have been a bit better.

Good Food, very pricey but I expected this given the location and investment in the restaurant. Glitch in the kitchen w/regards to timing of meal. We were offered a free dessert because of this and it was tasty but the price was included in our ticket.....so I paid it, no big deal. Just surprised. I'm sure you were in "Automatic Mode" and the Apple Tart just ended up on the bill.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The meal was expensive but worth every penny.

Beautiful restaurant with an upbeat vibe. Our server, Julien, had a mild and wonderful personality. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. The ambiance of the restaurant is amazing. Super clean. I would highly recommend. Great location.
had the 45 day aged bone in NY steak. So tender. Great wine selection. Great appetizers. MO salad, Mushrooms, Steak and Barley soup
As usual food was great, ambience on Patio overlooking Ocean Ave and Santa Monica pier is priceless.
This was our first time dining at Meat found on Open Table. We wont be returning. We arrived the end of lunch hour, the hostess was friendly and accommodating. Our server did the best she could as she was not the chef. I ordered the MAC and Cheese, had to send it back it was soggy and a strange version of blob (nasty). We ordered a wedge salad, I sent the bacon back to the kitchen to cook more it was raw, not good to eat raw pork! We ordered a Ribeye, it was extremely oily and made both my husband and my stomach sick to where I had to do a internal cleanse afterward. The food was very salty. It was a bit pricey for a lunch menu $140 for 1 salad, 1 steak, 2 beverages and fries.

Food was very delicious but the service was really lacking. All of the starters arrived immediately. A long long wait until main course. He checked in at an appropriate time, but barely saw him afterwards. Empty plates in front of us for a long time. Got the cheque and was delivered by a different wait staffer. No follow up.
You can do a lot better at this price point. Poorly managed.
We had a reservation at six but came in early since my son was hungry. We were celebrating his birthday in advance since we will be back home in Charlotte and he goes to school at USC. Arrived and were seated very promptly. Placed a cocktail order and an order for appetizers. Was a gap before we saw our server again. We also ordered a half carafe of wine. My wife went and checked on our cocktails and the bartender said they did didn’t have an order for us. Our appetizers and salad came and we still didn’t have our cocktails. Then the wine and cocktails came all at once. Our server said she placed the order and could show us the timestamps if we wanted to see them. I said I didn’t care to but please cancel the cocktails and just give us the wine. I wanted the cocktails prior to our meal. We ordered a steak, porterhouse, to share as a family. We asked for medium rare. The steak came and it was rare at best so we asked for it to be reheated and it looked as though they just put the pieces that were cut under the broiler for a minute or so and browned up one side while the other side was still rare. We had a few bites of it and gave it to my son to take home to reheat. He had a lobster roll and french fries which he enjoyed and I must say the appetizers were also good. They changed servers for us after the first incident and we rarely saw him as well. My wife spoke with one of the managers. We got our bill and the cocktails which we never drank we’re still on it so it had to be fixed. Just a poor overall experience with the steak and our cocktails and the servers. We were there around 5 PM so it wasn’t very busy so I don’t know why there is such issues. My wife and I had eaten there before and had a phenomenal experience, that is why we went back with our son.

Ordinary dining experience. Nothing noteworthy to stand out as a “must dine” steak house. Full hour between our starters and main course and they brought out the appetizer with the main! Nearly 40oz porterhouse to split with my sons and literally had 2 small slices on the filet (about 1 oz total)! I asked if that was a joke and the apologized with an 8os filet Comp. Classy move to a poor display!
Travis, the manager made sure we had the best table for this important client dinner. Kaylin, our server, was great. Will go back many times. Food was superb. Thanks.
I was thoroughly impressed. Beautiful setting with an amazing view of the ocean. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to answer any request. The meats are all top quality; cooked to perfection, and we did not need to add anything to the meat once it hit the table. It is one of the three top steakhouses in the country. Definitely worth every dollar spent.
Nice place just make sure you check your steak when it comes to the table because my steak was way under cooked and my wife's was overcooked but we didn't really want to complain so we just delta with it. When you're spending $500 on a 2 person dinner and the food doesn't come out right I would definitely say something so you can enjoy your meal.
One of our favorite restaurants this time the ribs were not up to par put management r compensated in a very generous way.

This place was awesome. The food was amazing and the view was incredible. Our waitress did an awesome job and did everything she possibly could to make our dining experience the very best it could have been. I highly recommend you try this place out.

I’ve been to MEAT before and it has never disappointed , but my last visit was the best yet . Great service and great food made the night a special one

Steaks had too much fat and somewhat chewy. Can’t compare to Mastros or Larsen’s. Charcuterie plate cheese servings are too small and therefore massively overpriced. The best was the ambiance
