Meat On Ocean
Robyn was great!! She made our whole night!
Delicious meal! And made special anniversary treat with a complimentary dessert :)
I brought my girlfriend here for a late Valentines date everything was delicious and we had a wonderful time.
Steaks were a little too undercooked. Would have expected the cooking to be more spot on since steakhouse. The sea bass was amazing. Also pork belly. Salads were just ok. Service good.
This place is one of a kind. The American Wagyu is a great choice. Dinner there will be a classic memory.
Food was great. Our server was not overly friendly. But she was efficient.
This place has the best meat out of ALL the steakhouses in Los Angeles! I would recommend this place to everyone! Came back for Valentine’s Day but we came on the 15th to have a better experience and it was awesome! We bought the last 75 day aged and it flavored amazing as usual but a lil over cooked but I still ate all of it. The amazing MOD gave us great discount for our steak mishap. We had the oysters, bone marrow along with sides of butternut squash and sautéed spinach! Our server Ricky was exceptional!!!
Nice place, went there for Valentine's dinner with my GF.
This restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere. My Server was absolutely delightful and made my family feel welcomed. The Service was awesome. The food was slightly pricey for the quality & Presentation. You can tell the plating was rushed. The food was not bad but it wasnt great. I would give this restaurant 3 1/2 Stars if possible.
We dined at Meat for Valentines Day with a price fixe menu. There were plenty of great options for all of us to choose from in each of the four categories and our food was amazing!
The only negative was how backed up the kitchen was. Our server was great but the kitchen took 30-45 minutes in between each course, even dessert. They had a full house with extra tables brought in for Valentines Day according to an employee. The kitchen just couldn’t keep up.
All of the employees had great energy and attitudes though. That combined with delicious food would bring us back again.
In town and went on Valentines night. They clearly were not prepared. Food was taking way too long to come out. Servers were even getting upset. When the food finally came, it was very good. As I am in the area a lot for work, I will give this place a try again on a normal night.
Service was awful, food mediocre, manager really did nothing to make us feel any better about it.
This was our second time at Meat, the first being during Dine LA. This time was Valentine's Day. We had to book at an early time because we tried too close to VDay, so we arrived on time at 5:30. Unlike our first visit, we had no wait time and were seated immediately. We were seated in the bar area, which was fine with us because it was much quieter than the main area of the restaurant. So far all good. But it only got better. The VDay menu seemed a better deal than Dine LA. $99 per person seemed a real bargain for what it was--4 courses with super choices. As with our first experience, the food was super terrific. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and tender as could be. The service was great--our waiter, Andrew, was knowledgable, pleasant, and efficient. This is now the steak house of choice for us.
Our waiter was wonderful and the food was delicious!
On a busy Saturday night they sat us ontime which was nice. The restaurant is outside/inside so it was a little chilly, once it filled up it was better but not warm. Great service and not rushed at all. Lots of choices on the menu, best to plan to share because portions are really large. Yummy bread, cheese and meats plates to share, steaks were flavorful, scallops were tasty. Fries were the best side along with asparagas and cauliflower. Dessert, bread pudding really good.
The meat is delicious at meat, steak cooked perfectly both times we stopped in on our vacation. Bone marrow also delicious. The views can’t be better. All around always enjoy this restaurant.
Caesar salad swimming in overly spicy dressing. Server wasn't knowledgeable of meat or wine. Creme brulee wasn't really creme brulee, overkill of chocolate.
Love this place for a special occasion it always looks busy bur never feels crowded, I’ll definitely be back
Wonderful service! Food is great!
While I understand not seating anyone until the entire party has arrived when a restaurant is busy, when it's just 2 guests and the restaurant isn't at capacity, I can't stand this policy. Don't you want your customer to start spending money at the table by ordering an appetizer/drink while waiting?? Besides that, I did appreciate the manager going around and talking to guests. A little interaction is welcome.
Our server, Tara, was outstanding! The filet had a little too much salt for my taste.
The chocolate cake was yummy. We very much enjoyed the evening
Exceptional, fantastic food with great service. Go for the Octopus followed by the 45day 25 once Bone-in Ribeye.
Steak itself was very good, dessert was very good, but the app was just okay. Service was fantastic but they were not ready for dine LA. We waited an hour for our food and another hour for the dessert. Great spot, just a long wait, and we were super cold while waiting.
Food was good, but service was challenging. At one point, they had run out of coffee cups. We were under the impression that we were waiting for more to be cleaned, but they never came and eventually we learned that someone had broken a rack of them and they were just out, but this was after the entire dessert course had been completed.
Restaurant can be cold inside but otherwise we had a great time!
Went late on a Friday and mostly was good, but waitress was obviously unhappy we were here for DineLA.
Portions were good - meat was slightly overcooked.
The location, the service and the food were all outstanding.
Great service. Very personable staff and made every effort to get us seats with a view of the ocean.
Food was good, server wasn’t knowledgeable of menu, nice cozy setting.
Wonderful experience, exceeded our expectations. Food was delicious and perfect ambiance. The January weather cooperated for a beautiful evening.
Great DineLA menu and perfect service. Definitely will come back for regular menu!
Food was delicious. Overall service was ok mostly because they had to come back twice on two separate occasions to tell us they were out of an item. First the bone marrow than the cheese we picked for our charcuterie. Overall I felt the service was really slow for the dishes to come but this could’ve been due to dinela. Overall delicious and would come again
Great atmosphere & food. Server was very good for a party of 10. Budget time, not a quick meal but worth it! Will go back on my next trip to Santa Monica
Place was crowded I guess because of Dine L.A. I can understand that but we had an 8:30pm reservation and didn’t get seated till 9pm. Server was not attentive at all. Food was ok kinda bland, drinks were mediocre. Would not go back
Had reservations for 8pm, for my wife and I, for her birthday dinner. Arrived and checked in at 7:45pm, initially was told it would be 15-20 minutes because they were running behind, ended up waiting an hour past our reservation time before we were seated. Although we noticed other people getting seated ahead of us who arrived after us. Not sure how the hostess was selecting which party got seated first but it definitely was not based on order of reservation or arrival time. Once seated it took another 15 minutes before server greeted our table. Ordered the Porterhouse Steak and after 35-45 minutes of waiting for a medium-rare temperature, I had a bad feeling steak was not going to come out as desired. Of course the steak arrived over cooked and I wanted to send it back but my wife was exhausted after 2 hours of being there at this point, and did not have the desire to stick around any longer so we settled for the disappointing steak to go. Will not be back or recommend based on this terrible experience.
MEAT in Santa Monica is just TOPS for a great foodie experience - whether it's for the signature Meat dishes or other fare. We enjoyed the DineLA menu for two with Porterhouse and loved it. Had the wine paring and it was perfect. You'll enjoy...
Disappointing. Waited A VERY LONG TIME for food and drinks to arrive. Server was sweet but clearly overwhelmed and could not do anything to get the food out more quickly from the kitchen...and did not check on us enough to get us more drinks while we were waiting. Our ribeye was flavorful but for the weight, much of it was fat and not as much steak as expected. Our ice cream on the side of our bread pudding was a melted puddle by the time it arrived to our table. Our coffee took so long to arrive that it arrived AFTER we finished eating our desserts. To spend this kind of money and get this level of poor service and dining experience was abhorrent. We will never go back. You can get the same quality of food, much better service for less at Belcampo or other steakhouses in town.
We LOVE Meat on Ocean. Amazing steaks and wines. We especially love their DineLA specials, and Always go for that event!
They offer lovely cheese, aged natural meat and a stunning view of sunset.
