Had a wonderful dinner with great service. Asked to sit outside since the weather was tolerable for June. However, we went there a little earlier than our reservation to have a drink. We couldn’t be seated without the entire party present which I understand. We weren’t allowed to have a drink inside due to my husband wearing shorts. I can assure you his shorts, his shoes, his shirt with a collar were dressy. Much nicer and professional than men inside with jeans and tee shirts. Tee shirts that were so casual they said Levi on them. Our food experience was great.
Great experience.. my teenage kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves
Never never again. Very disappointing. Great location, nice decor, good drinks. Service, food, value, dinning experience lacking. They presume to be so classy with all the dress code messages and phone calls and their own are not held to same standards and many guests were dressed VERY casual. We asked for drinks...everyone got theirs except one person. Ordered the food...my side did not come. When the side came (after a while) it looked burnt. I asked if it was supposed to look that way...they said yes but they would asked the kitchen to do another order. Finished my steak and no side on sight. Finally came and I returned it. They did not even adjusted the bill for the cost of the side. One of the other party steaks came rare when it was ordered medium. The scallop potatoes and fries were not to our liking. They tasted too sweet. Service seemed forced not genuine. Should I go on?
Everything was wonderful, but the “very strict dress code” is poorly enforced. No bother to me, except the hostess on the phone advised explicitly not to wear x articles of clothing, yet when we arrived guests were dining in swim shorts and flip flops. Really no issue I just don’t understand why I was being told I would be turned away for wearing sandals when that clearly was not the case. Service was fabulous. Food was very good. The corn they bring to the table complimentary is Devine.
Incredible place! You MUST go here. 5 stars all around
I had a issue with my dish but the Manager Chris handled it the best way he could. I appreciate that coming from a Chef. Cellis was an excellent server as well.
Our first time at Meat Market but we have only heard great things! We had a friend in town visiting from out of the country so wanted to bring them out to a nice dinner in Tampa and Meat Market did not disappoint! We were lucky to get a last minute table on a busy Friday night but I found the reservation on Open Table and we had no problem checking in with the hostess and being seated immediately. Everything from the appetizers to the ambiance was great. I had the Sea Bass for my entree and it was delicious. We also ordered the tricut steak plate and the meat was tender and delicious as well. Steven was an absolutely pleasant waiter. We can’t wait to go back!
My friend and I had reservations for outside for happy hour. The restaurant was not busy, and they placed us in the very back of the section with the sun protectors. Technically not outside, and it was very hot. I asked to move outside and again, they seat us in the very back outside, in the sun when there were many available seats In the shade near the front of the restaurant. On top of that, we waited 20 mins to get water. Service was terrible and they needed up charging us for non- happy hour drinks we ordered, which we refused to pay had had them fix. They also did not give us an itemized receipt. The manager was also an idiot and the hostesses were rude. Last time coming there.
Went for friend’s birthday….even with 8:00pm reservation on a Thursday night we weren’t seated until almost 9pm. Inside the restaurant was hot and muggy. Tables were so tight that the whole night my elbow got hit by people walking by. Couldn’t even talk to each other the music was so loud. It was like being in a club. Totally not what I expected and especially couldn’t even compare to steakhouses I’d been to before! We were hoping for an elegant restaurant for a special occasion and this certainly was not it! Not to mention the their strict dress code rules, they didn’t seem to apply to everyone. It almost ruined the whole occasion.
Won’t be going there again. The only positive was our waiters were great and attentive.
Is it dinner? Is it a club? Do you have to know somebody that knows somebody? For the price point of dining there should be a level of atmosphere comfort if you have an open floor layout. The host sat us in an area which seemed to be the hottest corner of the dining area, yet there was standard seating on the inner region of this establishment. As it seemed to get further uncomfortable I asked my server if “standard seating” was on the inside as well, were they saving it all for someone more import than my money? Nonetheless we reseated and ate comfortably. Flavors were good on most, some misses on some dishes and dessert options seemed minimal and not intriguing. In the end knowing it was a birthday celebration there was no follow through from the host end to the server resulting in basically a normal dining experience at this establishment. In the end, dessert was an easy pass, and there was certainly not a warm welcome vibe.
Good food great ambience and atmosphere. The lunch menu I felt was potentially a little bit pricey for certain things but all in all a great place to dine.
Great location, food was incredible, and service was amazing.
I appreciated the birthday greeting for my daughter. But then we sat at our table for 15 min before being greeted and even given water. That is not a good start to a special evening. Food was good with a few missteps, my sea bass was not cooked through, the steak knives were in desperate need of sharpening. The butter knives worked better! Our waitress was wonderful and genuine. Lastly, we were only four people and they sat us in a cute corner oval table but we couple barely hear each other. It’s simply too loud in there.
Nice place and well done food.. Please note that regardless what you are wearing, if you are man and wear sandals that they deem "flip flops" they won't seat you inside. It's an odd call out given the casual Florida location and vibe of the place. My issue was more with the hostess, who made it a rather embarrassing experience as i was called out in front of business associates.
Service was great - but the food wasn’t as great as what we were paying for. I got the NY strip cooked medium rare and the steak was very tough and on the dry side. The lobster mashed potatoes really didn’t have any lobster in it (unless it was puréed?) and wasn’t big enough to split with more than two people. My boyfriends ribeye was amazing and the drinks were delicious so the whole meal wasn’t a total bust! I was just bummed out at the quality we received compared to the price we were paying.
Great food, Great drinks. The service was very attentive. I highly recommend
Excellent meal with a close friend and colleague! We both had the MM House Salad with Salmon and we shared the chocolate torte for dessert. Outstanding service abs truly beautiful atmosphere. Already looking forward to going back!
Great vibe, trendy and fun, but the food and our waiter was the best of all. Food was excellent and prepared perfectly. Oysters super fresh with unique variety. Husband’s NY strip was phenomenal with a great crust and sumptuous foie gras extra. Waiter was very knowledgeable and professional-knew the menu and wine list thoroughly. Very good dining experience! We will return.
Wanted to like Meat Market, but was very disappointed. Great location, nice energy, but disappointing food and service. I ordered their half a duck, and half of it was not edible (undercooked skin, so tough that had trouble cutting it with a steak knife). Other meal at our table (filet mignon and scalloped potatoes) was ok, but really not any better than that. Negroni was excellent, but Pretty in Pink was lukewarm (likely glass and prosecco were not chilled).
We ordered a dessert, which never came. Waited 20 minutes and could not find our server to track down. Ended up canceling the order, not sure what really happened. (In fairness, the manager and server were apologetic and offered to comp the dessert and pack it up for us. We were just sort of done by then).
This was a Sunday evening dinner, on the late side. Maybe better luck on another day.
Amazing food and service!!!! Perfect experience for dining in Tampa!!!!
Brunch is to die for
Everything was excellent except the music was WAYYYYYYY TOO LOUD!!!!
Everything except the noise level was excellent as usual.
The music was so loud that my party could not even have a conversation . Ditch the music or turn it down.
Food was good but not jaw dropping great. Service was slow. Worst thing was that it was SUPER loud. Couldn’t carry on a conversation.
We arrived on time for our reservation, unbeknownst to us we would have to wait in a line for over 20 minutes to get seated. Seems very strange to me that they would book so many reservations to arrive at the same time that they would need a line for people to waiting to be seated. After being seated it took 30 minutes to get our cocktails, the server asked if we wanted bread, they never brought the bread. Food was brought to our table in the incorrect order, when we were served our entrées it took 25 minutes for someone to bring us utensils. At that time the food was cold, they offered to remake the food. Offering to remake a date was helpful, however it just made the night longer, and longer. We weren’t served our meals until 1145 when we had arrived at 9:30 for a reservation. We were sitting outside, and there were people that were congregating less than 15 feet away from us continuously smoking. And when we received our bill they didn’t even so much To make things right after all that we sat through. Disappointed in this experience. Also to know we’ve been to this restaurant many times. It just seems that service is not restaurants any longer.
Amazing service and the food was presented and done to perfection. Great chef’s selections! Perfectly done cocktails for the warm weather!
Saturday brunch menu provided limited options but did find something for everyone. Turkey Brie sandwich was unremarkable and the steak and eggs on par with what could be found anywhere. Loud pulsing disco beat dampened dining experience a bit. Nice interior design with ample spacing between tables. Willing to return to explore dinner menu.
The atmosphere is nice and elegant but the service is 3 took for ever for our food to come out and the manager avoided to come over due to they knew we would complain at the end we only received a complimentary cookie with ice cream to be honest I would of prefer a round of drinks or an appetizer for the long wait we got there at 9:40 didn’t leave till 12:20 am took 30 min and multiple times asking for a straw
Great atmosphere and great food!
Hostesses were not accommodating and somewhat rude. We called and asked to add a person to the reservation and they said no then sat us at a table with three extra chairs....
Had a wonderful dinner at Meat Market! Food was fabulous (standouts were the wagyu dumplings, tomahawk steak, and warm cookies), service was phenomenal (Marcus and Tyler took excellent care of us), and they remembered it was my birthday! Overall this was a fabulous evening and I will definitely be coming back!
Best place in Tampa. Weather you just go for dinner or drinks it has all the vibes you need.
Very poor service. Items were forgotten or mistimed repeatedly. Not a professional waitstaff.
Your dress code was not reinforce with other customers and we never got the chance to see happy hour menu
Great experience, loved the service and the food was delicious and made just right
Food never came after hour waiting, ridiculous
Tasty brunch, small portions. Delicious cocktails.
Birthday brunch for my wife exceeded our expectations! The food was better than had been described and the vibe was better, too! One of the rare meals that was extraordinary from the appetizer all the way through to the dessert.
What a treat! Ambiance was my favorite part of the experience. The food was phenomenal. The service is everything you expect it to be.
