I had asked for a quiet space for me and my husband. The hostess appeared to have some attitude and seated us in an area that she later filled with large families and screaming children. The hostess glared at me every time she brought filled a table next to us. It was awkward. Out server was amazing. The food was not worth the price. The crabs were good and some of the dishes were good. The chowder was runny. I understand the situation with the virus and that being the last weekend for the buffet for a few weeks so they were trying to get rid of what was left, but we felt ripped off after paying 130.00 for two people with tip. Oh, and iced tea is an extra charge. I had asked for hot water with lemon. I was brought a pot of hot water that had residual coffee. Gross. Unsweetened tea was the logical option. Disappointed.
Your next section requires me to select an option for what I would recommend this restaurant. There should be a not recommended option since I would not recommend Meadows to anyone.
The food was excellent and they kept it well stocked at all times. There was no wait times on crab legs. They kept all the food well stocked. Prime rib was excellent.
This is a great place, the food was great, service and atmosphere were great, I had the crab legs, and New York Strip, Shrimp, off the bar and all was great. I highly recommend and will definitely be going back soon.
Valentines Day with the wifey
We were having a mid-afternoon lunch and the restaurant had few patrons at the time. The view of the mountains and golf course was beautiful. My wife really enjoyed the open-faced New York strip sandwich with mushrooms and a Parmesan cheese topping. I tried a vegetarian garden Burger that I would swear had meat in it. It was the best I've ever had. We finished with a molten lava cake that was outstanding. The friendly staff was attentive but not obtrusive. We had a very enjoyable time.
I enjoyed this better than the seafood buffet!!!!!
Seafood buffet was amazing, as usual!
A waitress at the restaurant remembered us from our previous visit for the same occasion a year before. Excellent quality service in a nice, quiet location.
We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch/lunch. I did have difficulty making and confirming reservation on that morning. I called and found that the phone communication was nil, so, we came anyway. Our waitress was efficient, not too chatty, but, had great wit and sense of humor, and, did not hover over us excessively. It was a great way for our family to enjoy a reunion in a relaxed atmosphere.
Nice spot with a varied menu. Food ordered was fine...not spectacular but fine for a night when we didn’t want to venture out.
We love the Friday night seafood buffet. The crab was hot and tasted delicious. We were waited on by Kara, who is the best! She was very attentive. The hospitality here is amazing. Thank you for an enjoyable experience.
This is a wonderful treat for you and your family and friends. The crab legs are wonderful! They are big and they have lots of meat and they taste very good! The fish and the shrimp are wonderful as well. The dessert bar is awesome. The salad bar looks good but I did not try it because I just wanted seafood!
Great fun, great food, great staff!
The seafood buffet was quite good. The waitress gave me lessons on how to eat crab legs. The price was a bit high, but I guess in such a fancy place that was OK. The variety of food offerings was spot on.
Service was great. Friendly people, the atmosphere was perfect
We were having dinner with some dear friends to catch up and leave a few things behind. Our food was very good and we just enjoyed being together.
Great place to dine in a very peaceful and beautiful setting
Outstanding service. We’re repeat customers. The kindness shown to us time and time again is exceptional. Thank you for excellent service
We have eaten at the Meadows seafood buffet at least 20 times. The food this time was the worst ever. The clam chowder was over salted. Both fish dishes and the roast potatoes were too spicy/salty. The dessert selection seemed smaller than usual. The service was good as always.
Their seafood buffet on Friday is AMAZING!!!!! The best seafood. Puts Grovepark in Asheville to utter shame and costs less. The food from the menu is amazing too. We’ve been many, many times and have never had anything that wasn’t great. Highly recommend!!!
Based upon the menu I expected something just below fine dining, which is what I wanted. Looking for something above a LongHorn or Outback Steakhouse. What we received was a cut below. Nearly everyone at the restaurant was there for the Friday night seafood buffet. Buffet looked nice enough, but not what you expect at an upper level restaurant. Service was haphazard and disorganized. I should have gone elsewhere.
The seafood buffet was wonderful. Beautiful grounds My husband ordered steak and it was also very good
The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the food presentation was very pleasing. We had a very nice dinner experience. Because of bad weather, live music was moved inside and that was a little too loud. The music itself was very nice and enjoyable. Just a little loud to have a conversation at the table, but understand it was a last minute thing. Will definitely come again.
Crableg buffet was amazing! Service was good. Desserts were fantastic!
Everyone was expecting attentative and very nice and friendly. Thank you for a wonderful birthday experience.
Quality of food was good. However, for the price you pay as a seafood “buffet,” I was certainly disappointed with the selection of options. It would be more accurate to advertise as “all-you-can-eat crab legs with a few additional seafood items.” Was really hoping to be impressed, but the experience fell short.
Service was great as always...biggest problem, if your not a crab leg eater, the buffet just isn't worth the price you have to pay & the other option of ordering off the menu is rather costly as well.
Could not accommodate the crowd. We didn't get crab leg crackers until we were finished eating. Vegetables were not good. Food was not worth the money.
$40.52 for cold crab legs that looked old. We tried several times to get them hot but lukewarm was as good as it got. Wont be back !
Great food. Very nice atmosphere. No need to dress fancy. Causal atmosphere. Just go for the food. You won’t regret it.
Amazing seafood buffet! Great atmosphere! Sides were excellent as well
Seafood buffet crab legs and shrimp are great! Wish had a few more items on salad bar and better desserts. There was a couple there with their 9 month who cried the whole time and they didn’t bother to take it out to calm it down. Was not what I wanted to hear for my date night out. And yes I know babies cry but parents should have taken out to calm it down .. I’ve had one and they are unpredictable BUT I always took out of restaurant if she was constantly crying.
Crab legs are of course what most people come for on Friday nights! This was my 2nd visit to The Meadows and it won't be my last! Although it's a little pricey, it's all you can eat seafood buffet so if you leave hungry it's your own fault. As mentioned before, most fill up on the crab legs, which is the main feature of the buffet. I gave 4 stars out of 5, taking one point off for the desserts. They are lacking. The swordfish and cod were good, as were mashed potatoes and grilled shrimp. Roasted cauliflower was awesome but they ran out early, the broccoli replacement was not as tasty. They offer a fairly small salad bar with sides, which I did not try as my focus was crab legs. They also have a couple of choices of bread if you enjoy bread with your meal. All in all, it was an enjoyable dinner and I will return in the near future!
Was disappointed that there wasn’t mashed potatoes or cream corn. I love those. And the vegetables were practically non existent. But overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal as always! And I recommend it to a lot of people I come in contact with that like seafood. And the salmon was awesome this time! And so was the chicken! And of course the crab legs are always delicious!
Friday night they have a seafood buffet that is excellent.
The food was fantastic, but the service was horrible. The server was more concerned about the larger table than taking care of us a party of two.
The server also took my glass of wine before I even finished it.
Very disappointed in the overall service.
For the price, not a large selection of seafood - crab legs, shrimp 3 ways and 2 types of baked fish. Vegetables and salad bar OK. Desserts were just thawed from frozen. Not up to expectations. Probably will not return.
The crab legs were great, service friendly and prompt and the ambience was very nice. Too bad the seafood buffet is only on Friday nights!
