Our waiter had us waiting 20-30 min each time we ordered drinks. He did not as us about deserts. When he finally came back to check in on us we asked about it ourselves and he told us the kitchen was closed. Not cool.

The entire staff truly cultivates a full experience, especially for a larger party. Our server was incredible! Her timing, knowledge of the menu and recommendations hit the mark every phase of the meal. Everyone in our party was impressed with the entire night. Well done!!

The wait for water, and then the first drink was bad. The wait for our first tapa was over an hour. The menu has not changed much over the years. The duck dinner was bland. The deserts were terrific.

It was a beautiful setting but it was a but our table was right across from the bar near the hostess desk and I felt like we were just in a cold drafty hallway. When you go to a fine dining establishment, you prefer a nice quiet ambiance with softer music and a "warmer" table away from the hustle and bustle. The food was fabulous! Our server Faith was absolutely amazing and made our experience more enjoyable. I will return again but will request a better table next time. Thank you for reading this review.

We’ve dined at MDRD numerous times, but unfortunately this visit was very underwhelming. The Good: The service staff - host, server, food runners - were attentive, friendly and spoke clearly. Our table was in a cozy area, which we had requested. The Spanish omelette was delicious, and the broccolini was cooked perfectly. Tapas and entrees were quick and plated cleanly. The cod was cooked perfectly, but I think the dish should be served with a spoon to help distribute the sauce when sharing. The scallops were cooked well, and the plating was beautiful, but the garlic topping was a bit overpowering. The Bad: First round of cocktails (2) took nearly twenty minutes. One of our party members ordered a second cocktail, which also took nearly twenty minutes. The trout was undercooked, and I was a little disappointed it was no longer a whole fish. The Ensalada Pepino seemed more like an instagram dish than an enjoyable salad. I was hoping for a little bit more. I’m not sure if MDRD has a new chef, but it just didnt feel the same as previous visits.

Definitely a great place for a special night. Staff was wonderful and overall the food was great. Ambiance was lovely as well. The only thing we didn’t love was the duck entree. We might’ve gotten one that wasn’t their best but it was just kind of flavorless for the price. Pretty disappointing tbh. Everything else was fantastic though. Definitely get the scallops and the beef tartar. The La Linea cocktail was also a favorite.

Our evening was everything we’d hoped for. Our server, Sophie, was incredible, not only with her impeccable service but also with her extensive knowledge of both food and wine. She was able to have a conversation with us about our likes and dislikes and provide a few different choices out of an overwhelming menu, and she was spot on! All of the service staff from the hosts to bussers were prompt, professional and friendly. We will be back as soon as possible!

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday at MDRD, and it was an excellent experience in every way. We had to cancel on his actual birthday because I got sick, but they graciously waived the fee. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was phenomenal, and we were able to try dishes and tastes we never had before.

The food and service was fantastic at MDRD. And the view is the best in Grand Rapids. One of the more expensive restaurants in Grand Rapids. Great for a business meeting or special occasion. Menu standouts were the octopus and Iberian pork chop.

We ate at Cygnus 20 years ago, the night my wife and I became engaged, it was such a wonderful experience! So when our 20th wedding anniversary was coming up we wanted to touch that beginning experience together again. We were able to relive that moment a bit. Then look back on all the wonderful blessings and challenges of the last 20 years. And dream about the next 20 together. The various Tapas options were wonderfully prepared and tasty. Our host, Adam was warm and friendly. Everyone there, from the car hop, to the hostess, and other staff were very welcoming! Hope you are there in 20 years so we can relive the moments again!

The food was very good, can’t complain one bit. The service on the other hand was a bit slow from the start. It appeared as if they were understaffed at the time we arrived. Our server took awhile to get to the table and our first drinks took time as well. The thing that really soured me on this restaurant is the dishonesty about the availability of the octopus. Myself and the tables on each side of us were both told that the restaurant was out of octopus. Imagine my surprise as we were walking out of the restaurant a server emerges from the kitchen with octopus. We were shocked to think that they were picking and choosing who got to eat octopus that night. Truly unfortunate or a real lack of communication.

Always a superlative experience! The views cannot be beat. The service is exceptional. The food is a delicious work of art! Did I mention the cocktails? Oh my! if you can't make it for dinner, at least go for a drink. You'll be glad you did. Also, if you stay for dinner, be sure to indulge in dessert. You cannot go wrong with El Lemon!

While we had been to the restaurant before and enjoyed ourselves, this time we were seated in a section at the very top with harsh office lighting and decor that didn’t fit the rest of the restaurant. The worst part was the noise coming from the other levels below us. It was really loud, and it was made even worse by something we thought were multiple passing helicopters or maybe construction near the building. We couldn’t hear each other and were getting headaches from the loud rumbling—which also shook the wall and our table. So we left after just having a drink. It felt like we were crammed into an airport restaurant booth and the special occasion that we went there to celebrate just felt ruined. Just walking through the restaurant when we left made us feel like we got stuck in an afterthought section. I would go again, because the food and service are good, but if they were going to seat me in that section I would just decline and leave.

The service was amazing and the ambiance was amazing. Great location for a romantic dinner or drinks. The food however left a bit to be desired. We ordered the lamb and potato tapas and they were both amazing. When we got to the main dishes, I ordered the Fideua De Marisco and I was very disappointed. The tapas was seasoned to perfection then the main came out and it tasted like they ran out of any seasoning. The dish was devoid of flavor. My wife ordered the Spanish Omelet. She enjoyed it, but I felt it was a bit bland and dry. Overall. I would go there for drinks but would likely skip the food.

The staff was incredibly friendly. I mentioned it was our anniversary and we had a great table with an awesome view and we’re wished a Happy Anniversary by all we interacted with. Even our table and desert addressed it. The food was good, the appetizer and dessert were delicious. I would definitely recommend to try.

we were seated across from the bar ...there is a row of tables close together..our waiter was excellent but the waiter of the table next to ours kept standing between tables...that put his butt 3 inches from my plate...I literally could not eat ...not only that but he stood there forever explaining the menu..very not cool..so no matter how great ur food is the waiters butt in my food pretty much ruined the night...beware of that series of tables

when reservation was made I was charged a deposit fee of $40 per person this was not credited back on my bill! When I asked why I was given the answer nobody knew and would not give me the credit
