Our destination has a dedicated meeting and event space – Old 97 – for 15 to 100 people. We’ll host your next meeting, event or nuptials – we even have doors that open to lanais. The space is fondly named ‘Old 97’ for the railroad switch engine used to disassemble and reassemble train cars on the transfer ferry that crossed the Columbia River at Kalama. Having an event at this new property means enjoying its Island-inspired feel, as it was modeled after the Pioneer Inn on Maui. A few of the unique private events menu items include a Tiki Pupu Party menu with Year of the Dragon Pork Sliders and Egg Rolls; and a North Shore Buffet with Island Slaw, Three Rocks Jerk Chicken and Coconut Shrimp. I love the atmosphere and we were able to sit outside with a view of the river boat. Service was OK. Not particularly friendly. At times our server would walk off mid-sentence? Portions should probably be a little less meager for the price you pay. Still the food was good. No complaints. But I ended up having to order more sides at the end of dinner because my family was still hungry!

Service was very slow. Server was friendly, but we waited over an hour for two burgers that were overcooked. Not a great experience. Certainly not what we have come to expect at McMenamins.

The cheeseburgers & tater tots were very dry. The burgers lacked anything special. The Thai bowl was ok.

Not the best service we’ve had. Nice server, but he forgot a drink and had to be reminded to bring it twice. Also, he didn’t check in with us very often. Food took forever and was just okay. The poke bowl was horribly prepared with way too much sauce!!! Luckily we got it taken off of our bill. The Cajun tots and soft pretzels with cheese fondue were great, the atmosphere is always wonderful and the Ruby beer never disappoints.

We arrived and were seated right away and had to find a server to help us. We waited 30 minutes for someone to take our order. It was not very busy, so we were unsure of why we waited so long to be served. Our server was apologetic and tried to make up for the long wait.
