Great food, beverages, and view — I need to go back to try the desserts!
Had a lovely lunch with my family. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful
Always a good vibe here. The drinks are really good and the food it awesome
The Pub was a delight. The food superb. We had a great time.
It was great! Way less packed than usual. Service and food was excellent.
The Elk's Temple is a fun place to stay! The wonderful staff made it even better!
What a wonderful weekend!! An exceptional place with a fantastic staff. We had a great time!
In the spirit of full disclosure: I’ll tell you that I dig McMenamins, and I’ve been to almost all of their pubs and properties.
That being said, this is a very classy joint compared to other gastro-pubs. The usual fare (burgers and beers) is all on hand, but the atmosphere is a step above and the menu goes much deeper than just happy hour snacks.
I brought my wonderful girlfriend here for her birthday, and we had a lovely delicious dinner. I’d love to come back when I’m around the Sound, once the damned pandemic is over.
Pretty quiet at this fun place during Covid. Food is pretty standard pub fare but a great view table with a real fire in the fireplace helped make it fun
Great food and great ambiance. The only thing they can improve on is everyone who got a drink noticed their drinks were pretty weak.
It was a very good experience, new place to visit with alot of things to see and do . Food was amazing and fast . Great service as well with all staff .
We really enjoyed our stay and had stellar care from every staff person we encountered. Most notably, Patrick who served us both times we ate in the restaurant, was a highlight! The cocktails were well done, and getting 'lost' in the maze of the building was an unexpected adventure. Thanks for hosting us!
Excellent food and service. I highly recommend this place for any occasion!
Great meal with great views and excellent service.
Love McMenamins especially this one. Was so happy when they opened here and have been to many others. Just like them, they've outdone themselves and have unique foods drinks and atmosphere . Definitely try the Old Hangout downstairs , the tasting room, and the Spanish Bar ! So much fun to explore while you wait for a table.
The service was great as was the food.
Our order took a bit, but we were late w our party of three so we were all pleased when our order arrived.
Great happy hour menu. Excellent service. Good view of bay from table.
Excellent experience, great food and eclectic decor. We love it here!
We enjoyed uniquely delicious drinks and dinner with a view of Tacoma's South Sound waterfront. Staying the night made out experience perfectly relaxing.
Hostess/check-in not great. No signs/postings explaining various dining options. Hostess did poor job of explaining. It was like we were supposed to know all about the options. At in Spanish bar. Food good, not exceptional. Tried an appetizer that was OK. Wife's chicken sandwich was a chicken sandwich. Shared Charcuterie Board as appetizer. Cleaned the plate. Loved the olives. Typical Mediterranean plate. Would have liked some cheese with it. I had Aquatine Bocadillo Sandwich. Very tasty and bread fresh! Salad pedestrian. Had a porter (I think it was "black widow") which was excellent. Explored the tiki bar and learned a little about the venue. That was fun. Broadway area is fun place to visit.
Has a great breakfast. Service was great and would recommend it
Every staff member was either rude, super slow, yelling or just flat out ignored us.
We drive over from Eastern Washington every October to visit a couple of the areas haunted houses. We stayed nearby at the Marriott downtown, and this venue fully fitted our standard of "old, crusty, full of history and serves top rated food and libations". The Elks Temple was the absolutely perfect start to our evening of haunting fun. We all enjoyed our dinner.... salads, pizza, crab mac n cheese. The pilsners, rye shots and other beverages were so tasty.... we had to have another round! Thanks for a great evening, the stellar service from our friendly bartender. We visited on Oct. 10th around 430pm in the PUB. We sat under the picture of the family of acrobats. We appreciate you and the memories you helped create!
45 mins waiting for food arrival. Too long for a Sunday brunch.. Great for a dinner party.
Wait staff excellent.
Great place to explore while drinking even during covid!
Great food and atmosphere! Love the decor!
I had the elk burger with the coffee bacon jam and seasoned tots. Our server was very attentive, we had a great view of the port of Tacoma, and the tables are separated by plexi glass for social distancing. It felt very intimate.
Had a Birthday get together! First time there. Will come back often!!
Good food and service, walls were dusty and had food on them and cushions were stained though.
Service was great, but my $30 salmon entree was sub-par. Skin was on (yuck) and the quinoa and green beans were bland. Tasted like hospital food.
Truffle fries had no truffle, but hummus plate was yummy.
This place is awesome! 4 floors of bars and things to look at and see! Top 3 floors have rooms to stay in. It's a Vegas like experience as you don't have to close out the tab if you're staying, just charge it to the room and move to the next floor!
Date night at Mcmenamins was our first time visiting the Elks Temple. We eat vegan and were very happy with the vegan choices. The food was delicious and the venue fascinating. Service was excellent and we will be back again soon!
Our McMenamins experience at Elks Temple was perfect! The pub is beautifully and joyfully decorated, with a stunning collection of light fixtures to feast the eyes upon. We were seated with a view of the Puget Sound. I was happy to find that the tea I ordered at breakfast was served loose leaf, in a pot, and was still fresh. I’m very particular about my tea and couldn’t believe my luck that they had tippy Yunnan (which is my normal breakfast tea at home). My husband and I shared an omelette and the kitchen split it for us, giving each of us a fairly sizable individual omelette and fair amount of crispy, delicious, cottage potatoes. We finished with a fresh baked scone that melted in the mouth! Everything was delicious and made for an unforgettable experience.
Just as before it was a great time, food was amazing and the mood was set perfectly. I highly recommend dinning here
We had a great dinner experience at the pub, and great experiences at the tiki bar as well as the Spanish bar! However we ordered breakfast to our room and the sausage links were raw. Besides that, everything was great and the staff was very friendly!
Received a credit for breakfast since we had stayed the night in a room. It was enough to almost cover the breakfast which was great! The game was on while we ate and the tables were spaced out comfortably. Our server was fantastic.
Had both dinner and breakfast in the main dining room and both meals were great. Great value and service.
We were seated right away at a table with a view of the waterfront. Our server was very friendly and helpful with drink and food selections. We will definitely be returning.
Phenomenal service. The team there is great at making sure everything was on time and ensuring we had a great experience. The food was good. The tuna app was phenomenal!
