The mashed potatoes with the seafood platter were amazing! The shrimp on there were amazing as well. The drinks were the best I’ve had in a long time and not watered down which was refreshing. I would suggest making a reservation but worth the wait.
We celebrated my mom’s 100th birthday and had a very nice time. Since it was our very first time and everything looked good on the menu, we ordered lots of appetizers. They were all good except I didn’t particularly care for the taste of the calamari—it was too fishy smelling and tasted as such but my son liked it. Overall, we had a wonderful time, the food was good and the waiter was very nice and friendly and attentive.
Needed a last minute reservation. Went to open table. Picked McLoone's. The entire evening went well. Will go back.
The food was decent . The restaurant was out of almost everything we tired to order . They were also out of the bud light at the bar . The view was the best part of the meal . Small and selective menu.
We were seated outside based on our preference. The service was wonderful with waiter giving recommendations and suggestions.
Food was great overall but the crab dip could have been heated a bit more
Great experience for our first time at National Harbor.
Loved the experience - HOWEVER - the restaurant called me at 10:24 PM the night before my reservation to confirm. That is not acceptable! No phone calls after 9 PM!!!
A little pricey but good food.. waitress and waiter very attentive
I truly love this restaurant, however I will never visit on a holiday. Waited nearly an hr w/ reservations to be seated. Staff seemed frazzled & not so friendly. Food was not up to standard. I was greatly disappointed. I have had great experiences other times.
Food wasn’t bad except the fried chicken was dry.
Was hoping for a nice desert tray but they only had very small pastry cakes.
We were there for Easter Brunch, and have attended it for about 3 yrs. It's one of the better ones that we've gone to because it was a good price. This year when we got the bill, it was $12.00 more. $42.00 is much too expensive for brunch, especially when it's for 4, and you were expecting to pay $30.00. So we decided to try it for dinner, and have Easter Brunch at home!
As someone who has food allergies, I have a difficult time finding restaurants that can accommodate my restrictions. Our waitress took extra steps to make sure she understood my limitations, and that the kitchen prepared my food exactly to my specifications. She was attentive, the food was delicious, and the service was great. The only drawback was the noise level. Although it was very similar to most popular restaurants, it was difficult to have a conversation without a raised voice.
The first time I've ever been embarrassed at a dinner where I've hosted customers. Loud drunk people at the bar, incompetent managers, horrible food, and incredibly slow service.
We attended for brunch. The service was fine. Nothing was stellar. They did an omelette station with some vegetables and cheese. A waffle maker was there as well. It was not an amazing waffle but it was fine. They did have lots of fresh fruit, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.
The staff was friendly and very accommodating without being a nuisance. We had amazing food and drinks. Well worth every penny we spent.
We had a group of 8 people and the restaurant was virtually empty. We had made a reservation but not really needed on this night, although it may have been because of the rainy weather and a week night. I had the crab cakes and changed the sweet potatoes to mashed--great choice. The food was amazing and the other orders were also very attractive and tasty. The place is a bit pricey but not bad for the area. The one steak person raved about the quality of the beef. Others enjoyed both appetizers and deserts as well as the entrees.
The food and atmosphere were great. We celebrated my mom's bday and she loved it!
Food was delicious and served quickly.
What we especially appreciated from the restaurant was that we left our credit card behind and they called us to let us know. They were about to close so they kept it secure in their offices for us to pick it up the next day. Thank you so much!
We were seated within an extremely reasonable time of our arrival! Unfortunately, the seating obscured the view of the waterfront and minimized the ambiance of the venue. Nevertheless, everyone enjoyed the venue and the birthday celebration.
It has a great view of the Potomac River, atmosphere is pleasant, food is very good, and the service is always friendly and responsive. Great time with family!
Waiter was not attentive at all. We ordered a plain lobster and they brought us a stuffed lobster. We also ordered a crab cake. After all of the food had been brought out we had to remind the waiter that we ordered a crab cake. He forgot and the crab cake went to someone else so we had to wait on another one. When the bill came we decided to split it with the other couple. When the waiter brought the receipts and credit cards back I noticed that he had used my card to pay for both receipts. We've had dinner at this restaurant several times and this is the first bad experience.
It was my 25th birthday. All the servers were super accommodating. The brunch buffet ran out of salmon for a moment, and the custom omelet chef brought a plate full of it directly to our table as soon as it came out.
The food is perfect as well, My dad and aunts ordered from the menus and we were all looking at their huge cod filets in jealously. 💕
Beautiful view of Potomac. Servers attentive. Excellent and very filling crab based entrees. She crab soup and crab cake appetizer were plenty!
They were out of Mozzarella sticks! That’s crazy! Salmon and Sea bass were delicious.
The food (crab legs, stuffed shrimp, and crab Rangoon) was very good. Good atmosphere.
After a mediocre 1st visit, I gave it a 2nd chance. The quality is not where it should be for the price and location. I expect more. I ordered an almost $50 entree, they prepared it wrong the first time. When they brought it back out, they did so with the exact same food, only replated to remove the mashed potatoes they were souped in. Even though that didn't bother me as much (would've preferred fresh food instead of replated and reheated), what bothered me most was the fact the food was dripping in butter and oil. I couldn't even stomach more than half of it and I left feeling disgusted. The mgr is who brought the plate out like that so I didn't think it was worth complaining. The waitress was nice enough but the atmosphere was bland and the food was not worth the price so I won't return.
My experience was good for my first time. The only downside was I had a large party with only one waitress. I would have preferred to have one additional person. I will be returning.
Our group of eight had a window table on a Saturday evening at McLoone's. The view was terrific! The food and drink were great! Everyone had a really good time. It's a little noisy but otherwise perfect for dinner out with friends.
Food was delicious... waiter was great!!!
If you have had poke before, do not order theirs, you will be disappointed. The crab ravioli was very good. I expected better quality for the prices. Very good customer service, did not want me to leave unhappy.
Once we got past the hostess who was missing for 5 min and disinterested, the service improved. The waiter was good and the seafood platter was very good. We really enjoyed the jerked shrimp and blackened salmon. The crab cakes were delicious. I can’t say anything was best I ever had but it was delicious and totally acceptable. The lump crab dip appetizer was enjoyable. The view of pier and was very nice. Noise level decent. Talking was easy. Would definitely go again.
Business dinner while in town for a conference. Excellent lobster tail. My colleague got the seafood platter and she said it was fabulous. We ate in the bar and the service was perfect.
Food was good, but the service could really be improved. Staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there.
Great service. Lovely outdoor dining overlooking the water. Ordered Salmon dinner. Good but very salty. The bathroom was awful. I dined early in the evening so there really should not be an excuse for the condition. Made the hostess aware when I left.
Dining at McLoone's Pier House was a great experience. The entire staff made us feel special, especially the manager, Jarrad. Would definitely recommend dining there and would return when in the DC area.
Service and food were great.
I had dinner for galentines day (gals Valentine’s Day) and was very disappointed. Our meals was wrong when our order came out. My friend order her steak well done it came out medium well. I upgraded my meal for the filet but the brought me out sirloin. So will me Friend ate her steak I sat and watched and our server simply said it was the kitchens fault but didn’t offer anything for me to snack on while I watch my friend eat for 10 -15 Min. Or drinks orders were also served at different times even though we ordered them both together. Again my friend received her drink first while mine came about 10 min later. Drinks were nice and strong but the steaks were not tasty. The mash potatoes were great. Also the asparagus was supppsed to be wrapped in pursutto but was not. Very disappointed in our meals stick to the happy hour and the regular menu I will not recommend going during a special day or when it’s prefix menu.
It was good all the way around
I went here about 2 yrs ago for an engagement proposal and ate outside, I didn't remember the food being as good as it was this time around. I got the seafood platter and everything was cooked deliciously for my date and I! We were able to have a quiet conversation and our waitress gave a good recommendation on drinks and kept checking in on us. Very great staff as I remember, and the ambiance inside was just as nice as outside. I'm glad we chose this place and I plan to recommend it to others.
very disapointed! expected so much more. Service was disorganized & very slow. Brunch was nothing like Mccloones in Seabright NJ. They didnt have the cold fish bar.The price was $30.00 for stale bagels, omellette station that no one knew what was happening 25 min to make one. They had oatmeal & fruit , salmon & bacon , muffins & sausage stuffing.
The ambiance was great. Our server was very nice and polite, but he was very slow and not very attentive to our needs. We notices the other staff/servers were very energetic and attentive to the tables they were assigned to.
My food was excellent, but my boyfriend ordered the ribeye steak. It was not a ribeye steak. It was more fat than meat, he had to send it back. And the roasted potatoes were huge potato logs.
We were celebrating my Boyfriend's birthday. They didn't acknowledge it and because the service was so slow, he didn't want me to bring it to our servers attention, he was ready to leave.
I may return, but not time soon.
