McLoone's Pier House - National Harbor
First time dining here and I enjoyed my visit. They had a couple of large parties and I was glad I made a reservation. Will definitely return.
The food here was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The Drinks were to die for and everything was perfect. I took some friends there this weekend and we were all blown away by how amazing everything was. Thank you for turning a fun last meal together into something fun and memorable!
We WILL be coming back next year!
Went there to celebrate my best friend’s recent engagement and she was visiting from San Diego. I ordered steak and eggs. I told the server I wanted my steak medium rare but my steak turned out more well done than anything. A bit disappointing since I like my steak medium rare. We ordered three whiskey mules. None had any mint in them and they tasted a bit funny so had to ask the bartender to remake them. My friend asked for scrambled eggs with his steak and got over easy instead. The rye bread was really good. Overall experience was ok.
Service was extremely slow and salmon burger was soso.
The seating was not ideal. We were located in the middle of the restaurant surrounded by a party of 10 leaving us no privacy.
Even with a reservation, we were seated in the bar area. Our server was amazing; she made excellent recommendations, was kind, professional and attentive. The food was a bit disappointing. They must've changed their crab cake recipe:-( It was soggy, had filler and peppers in it. Not what I remember and enjoyed from my last visit there. Don't fix something that isn't broken.
Great ambiance and service for a special Valentines evening.
I read the reviews on Open Table and decided to make a reservation. It was a great choice and the food was amazing. It was not crowded and we had a very nice waitress. I will definitely go back.
Food was very good and waitress was very attentive. We reserved ahead, noting that it was a special occasion, and asked for a table overlooking the water. For some reason, they reserved us a table in the far corner by the bar and away from the water. But the hostess moved us to a table overlooking the water when we asked.
Excellent service. Beautiful location. Wonderful food.
Well never even got to the meal because we left after almost 2 hours trying to get 2 sets of drinks. The waiter was clueless and after waiting so long for drinks we left. Will not ever go back there. Too bad. Great ambiance and view!!
It took multiple attempts and about 30 minutes for them to split the bill so that we could turn in our receipts for work. Slightly ridiculous. Sunset was nice but they didn't control that.
Good food and value, service good, excellent view!
Nice view of harbor. Friendly staff and a good menu. Food was good but not great. Portions were small for price. One more shrimp or one more scallop would have been better. Swordfish was a bit dry. Veggies were very good.
I organized a 77th birthday party for a Saturday for 14 people. The process was great and they were so patient with me and my changes and desires. They let me bring a cake and stored it for us. They had the table set up hours earlier then we were expected and allowed me to put up decorations. They had 2 waiters assigned to us and they never skipped a beat. All meals were service at the same time. The food portions were huge and the chef came out personally to see how we liked everything. The views were spectacular. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.
The entire experience was great - celebrating birthdays. Would recommend highly
service was unimpressive but food was great.
dont like the terms of credit card on booking table and not having a guest show and being charged for them not showing. it wasnt busy and not like it was a wedding reception!
The flavors of the food just wasn’t there.
I had the scallops with the risotto and spinach which was very good but felt that four scallops for thirty six dollars was abs but too much. Our waiter was a tentative but was missing at the time to pay check long wait and the manager was very friendly.
The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. We had a wonderful time.
The service was EXCELLENT,the atmosphere so pleasant I will DEFINITELY BE RETURNING
Great quality food and variety on the menu. A little pricey but food was worth it. Kinda quite the night we took 9 people there but the government shutdown might have had something to do with that. Donna's service was perfect and very attentive. Great evening.
I have come here several times. It is one of my 2 favorite restaurants at the Harbor. Food is excellent quality and gluten free with great flavor. The Chef does a wonderful job each visit. The staff is always polite and courteous. Waiter was considerate not to bring me bread since I am gluten free. He understood my gluten issue. Enjoyable!!!
My friends and I were trying to find a place to eat during MAGFest weekend. All corners of Inner Harbor were packed with people. We went on Open Table to see if anything was available for a party of 5 within walking distance. McLoone's popped up! We had never heard of this place before, but all five of us had a delicious meal. They start you off with a delicious bread and pesto dip appetizer. I highly recommend their crab dip! Excellent service, great seafood, great ambiance. We were able to hear each other without shouting over the music/other people in the restaurant. We will most definitely be back next month! :)
We went there for New Year's Eve dinner which is not necessarily the best time to visit a restaurant for the first time. It was a fixed price 4 course menu, which was fine, and the food was generally fairly good. Our sever was too pushy to order the courses and when we asked for more time, he basically then ignored us requiring that we ask him back for whatever was needed, bread, the free champagne on the menu, ultimately our subsequent courses, etc. The tip was fixed on the bill so we understood why things were as they were after the fact. These kind of events can be special if well handled by the restaurant. This one could have done a better job.
We happened to hit this restaurant on New Years Eve, where a special menu was in place at a cost of $70 per person. We decided to stay and give it a shot.
Most of the food was very good, starting with the Calamari Appetizer, Corn Chowder, The Seafood Sampler and the Filet Mignon. The Cheesecake and Apple Tart were marginal.
Service was just ok, as our waitress was pretty distracted by the very large party that was right next to our table.
Upon completion of our night, the $70 per person price tag was pretty steep even with the complimentary glass of Champagne.
Expensive but the wait staff was outstanding. Would have liked to see management on the floor as every worker was polite and quick to help.
Waitress was nice but not as attentive as we’d hoped. We made 10:30am reservations for brunch but wasn’t seated until 10:50am because they were still putting the food out
Everything was delicious but trust me, get the crab claws. I’ll go back just for that dish.
I Celebrated my husbands 50th birthday and this was his first time. He loved the food and service. You can’t beat the service and quality of McLoone’s.
We felt a little rushed but understand because it was Christmas Eve and everyone wants to be with family during this special time of year!!
Food was delicious. Our waitress was on her game. What was NOT okay was the hostess who texted me 40 minutes before my reservation time to tell me that the kitchen closes at the start of my reservation time. I called the restaurant and asked if we shouldn’t come because we didn’t want to be rushed and the hostess was all apologetic saying they just meant to ask us to be on time for our reservation. I found all of this to be very rude and annoying. She tried to clarify when I arrived as well and I said the same thing I said on the phone...I have NEVER had a restaurant text me that 40 minutes before my reservation and say that. So that didn’t start things off well!
Other than that, the food was delicious! A little loud for me, but it wasn’t too crowded so it worked out.
Celebrating my mom’s 70th birthday. It was nice. They were sold out of a few items which was disappointing but everything else was ok/nice.
The service was great. The server was very attentive.
Unfortunately that was all that was good. The food was not very good. The restaurant ran out of adult burgers and we ordered kid burgers but my dad’s did not come with the rest of the food and was 20 minutes later. The fries were bland, the lobster bisque was extremely rich, the burgers were not tasty, the kids pizza was doughy and the crab dip had more cream cheese than crab. You couldn’t even see any seafood in it. We were very disappointed with this meal and surprised it is part of a chain in NJ.
The restaurant was not full and we could see why as we dined there for the first time and last. Also could understand why there were last minute reservations available.
Our dining experience did not seem to start off very well as the host who was seating us didn't wait until we were even sat down before trying to hand us all our menus. Our waiter was very courteous and was very tentative to our needs, even from across the restaurant. We ordered a Chicken/Pasta dish that was heavy on the salt, it would have been great, but the chicken was definitely over seasoned. We also ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and that was a little dry on the edges. The waiter and the view made our experience nice, but I don't think I'd return for the food.
Great dinner out with family.
Had a reservation for 5:15 on Christmas night. Arrived at 5 pm, hostess failed to check us in and subsequently I received email from Open Table stating I cancelled my 9:15 AM reservation. Why would I have made a 9:15 AM reservation when the restaurant wasn’t even opened at that time? I questioned the hostess about this and all she did was argue with me so I walked away. Night went downhill from there, so much attitude. Staff obviously did not want to work Christmas night. Server had major attitude at the beginning but then lightened up. Orders did not come out properly, no substitutions offered. Staff needs to lighten up and remember we are the reason they have a job...will NOT return.
Took my mother out for her birthday. Attendant was not attentive at all. Oysters were too chewy. And the ambiance was disturbed by a very raucous group that was extremely loud during the entire length of our visit.
