Good experience and food
Will go back
Service was great. However we ordered fish and chips and clearly the fish was microwaved and not fried. Had to send it back due to sogginess and when it returned it looked like it was placed in the oven to darken it but not crisp. Total bust. Restaurant is also dated. Never returning.
We originally planned on eating outdoors but due to the cool weather, we asked the hostess if we could get seated near the window indoors and she happily obliged our request. Lovely view and waitress was extremely attentive.
The service and staff was outstanding. They were cordial and accommodating. All our meals were good but we were expecting better.
The food is really bad. I’m never going to come back. It was my first time. Never coming back. Generic food. Nothing was good. Not one dish.
Was not happy with my dinner and neither was my husband. I had to send mine back because the fish was so spicy and did not mention that on the menu. Pricy and not worth it. They did bring me a new piece of fish but dry and overcooked. The Ribeye my husband had was basically a small piece of very fatty meat and definitely over priced.
Excellent food & service...beautiful view of the beach...
First time back since Covid hit. It wasn't as crowded as I expected. Service a bit uneven but we chalked that up to what appears to be a new staff. Food
I have no specific recommendations at this time for the restaurant.
Great service, good atmosphere and good seafood.
Excellent food. Our server was Tara she was very friendly and professional. Great experience will be back!
Walked there on a rainy night. Got a high top table overlooking ocean. Our waitress Lisa as great and the food was awesome. My husband got the hamburger which he said was delicious and I got the Iceberg Wedge Salad which was also delicious. The portions are large. You can relax and not feel rushed. Prices are reasonable for an ocean front restaurant. We are definitely going back!
Fun night with my friends beautiful view & good food & drinks!
Food and service was great. Nice ambiance with beautiful ocean views. Ask for Connor if you visit this summer. Awesome guy and an excellent, attentive waiter.
Food was delicious! Only recommendation would be to have music playing. Would have added to our great experience at McLoone's.
Service and food quality were average.
Sangria was full of ice and watered down and had no smell or test of wine at all on top of them charging $42 for a half a pitcher of fruit punch but with no fruits!
Windows were dirty and had rust stains dripping all the way down each window with the view of the beach which was not very picture friendly. Management and staff could clearly be heard in the kitchen arguing about work conditions and need for higher pay which was embarrassing to hear. So over all a once beautiful and romantic upscale restaurant has become a below average dining experience and prices way too high for the quality patrons are currently receiving. So sad we really enjoyed McLoones on the Pier for so many years!
The staff was great. Food very good! The atmosphere and the view from
Our table was beautiful.
I was excited to get out and about. First time bringing a friend to a restaurant since the pandemic started. Made reservations. When arrived - I was told that my reservation wasn't applicable to outside even though I requested outside in the memo. I was able to sit outside with a wait. I guess staffing was an issue so they didn't want to sit too many. The menu was limited and quite costly.
My husband and I got married here so we always come back on our anniversary. Each year we always comment that we are disappointed with the food. This year we brought our two children and the service was exceptionally poor. Our daughters meal came out significantly after ours. In fact I shared my sandwich with her because it’s hard to tell a 3 year old to keep waiting while everyone else has their food. Service in general was really slow and the food was flavorless. We will probably continue to return to pier village for future anniversary celebrations but will likely choose another restaurant.
Great meal with a varied menu and excellent specials. And the view is magnificent. Well worth a visit.
Odessa (outside hostess) was beyond rude and disrespectful. Emily (waitress) was great!
Food was pretty good. Got their 20 min early for a reservation and were told we couldn’t sit even tho restaurant was half empty. Biggest complaint was the room temp. It was freeeezing. We had to walk back to hotel to get jackets. It’s the main restaurant on the boardwalk so I guess you deal with these things as there isn’t many other options in the area other than a couple places.
The view at our table was good. The food was mediocre. It was very busy for a Wednesday night. Parking was next to impossible. Our waitress was nice, but not especially attentive. We will not return other than to have a drink with a view of the ocean.
Due to road construction and traffic in Long Branch, we were late arriving. I called and the hostess was very accommadating.
We had the halibut special with lentils, very good
Service was good. Food was good. Too pricey for the quality of food, service, and ambiance
Had a bad experience with a table of six drunk ladies talking very loud, yelling and cursing and talking about their drug escapades. Not the experience I wanted from an upscale place
We had a great view of the beach and a very attentive waitress however the food was disappointing. My husband’s shrimp dinner came with 4 shrimp, so he left hungry. I had a chopped salad with lobster, and the lobster was watery, chewy, and did not taste good. When I told the waitress she did deduct half of the price of the salad from the bill. Another person in our group had crab cakes, and said it was a lot of filler. Go for the view not the food.
Server was excellent and food was superb. The dishes we selected were unique in the ingredients added, as well as presentation.
If only the food could match the appearance of the building. We had a great view of the beach and looking forward to our dinner. My wife ordered an arugula salad and I ordered the crab cakes. When my wife's salad arrived the salad was filled with so many pine nuts she was unable to eat it and asked for it to be taken from our bill. I was given only one crab cake and was disappointed. The biggest letdown was I had ordered a NY strip steak medium well and your price was $42.00. Unfortunately, I was given a strip steak be given some cheap steak expected to pass as a strip steak. The advised my waitress this was not a $42.00 steak and to send it back. Here's the most deceiving part of this was a manager came to our table and advised me your restaurant was out of NY strip steak and would I like a filet mignon instead. My question to you is why wasn't that presented to me when I first order my steak and told sir we are out of NY strip steaks and would you prefer something else. I on the other hand was given a cheap steak hoping I would eat it. Listen I am no cheap skate prior to Covid my wife and I travel and eaten in many fine dining rooms. We know good food and willing to pay for it. What we experienced was a complete and utter letdown and I can only imagine the reason you get anyone to visit is the location and the view of the ocean. That part you got right now if only the food can match the appearance of the building you would have big time money maker and sometime to be proud of.
The view was incredible and the wait staff spot on. The food was incredible will be back just wish a little more lobster in Mac and cheese dinner..
Food was excellent, service was very good, great view. Also felt safe eating indoors there. Really enjoyed our Mother's Day dinner there.
I spent $240 on family style brunch for 3 people + 2 bloody marys. it was a set menu that included mostly things I did not want. Will not be back.
Amazing family style brunch! Food and service was outstanding!
The food is very consistent. I've never had a bad food experience. I love it!
It's ALWAYS nice to be there with the fantastic view and consistently delicious food. The waitstaff is always lovely and DID I MENTION THE VIEW of the ocean? :-) The only downside was the noise. I've never heard it so loud in there (and we've been going for many many years). Not sure if it's all the COVID buffers set up between tables or just a noisy day, but we had to shout to hear ourselves at the table. BUT - it's a great restaurant and our overall experience is just about always absolutely wonderful. And we'll be back again very soon.
The whole dinning experience was excellent! The service was great! Food delicious!
