I had a great time celebrating my birthday. Brandy was our waitress. She was attentive and gave us great service.
We both enjoyed our food. The salmon melted in your mouth.
I had the pumpkin ravioli and it was absolutely delicious.
What a beautiful rustic restaurant. Food was very nice . Beautiful setting.we will definitely come back
The service was very very very slow. It took a full hour before entrees came. We were promised bread 3x but waited 45 minutes before it came. There was no communication or any updates on why the food was taking so long until I looked for the waitress and asked. The whole we waited for the food, we finished our 1st drink but the waitress never came to see if we needed a refill. The soup I ordered was cold. Just a very bad experience. We were very disappointed.
Wonderful service - friendly, bubbly, attentive waitress with a great personality. Food was excellent; we loved everything we ordered. Ahi tuna nachos were particularly good, as was the short rib ragu pasta. Will definitely be back!
The service and the food was outstanding! Nice atmosphere! Definitely would go back!!
We have been there many times but something g was off yesterday. Took forever for the food to get prepared and then they messed up our order
45 dollars prefixed Thanksgiving buffet dinner with lots of food, none of which tastes quite amazing with a particularly dry and below mediocre turkey slice entree, in a very loud big room with few waiters doing a lousy job of attending to customers. Overall very disappointed with this particular Thanksgiving dinner.
First time dining here and coming to the buffet on Thanksgiving was a bad idea. Too many customers, not enough service staff and cold food on the buffet.
Everything was great. The only thing I would have changed is to have sterno under the chaffing dishes as the food could have been a little warmer. That and have a gravy pot next to the potatos. Having only one pot next to the turkey carving station didn't help..
Because of the buffet format, not enough workers at food distribution tables and as a result the mashed potatoes were ice cold and as a result we didn’t take something that we were looking forward to having. Also have a worker at the dessert part of the food table to direct traffic and allow diners to quickly get their dessert and get back to their tables.
First time in a long time at this restaurant. Did not know Thanksgiving Day was a Buffet. They added a 18% tip to serve water and pick up dishes for 4 people. Was not informed anywhere I could find. Food was OK. Love the location.
McGloon’s was surprisingly dirty, with dishes left with food on them, tables with lots of left overs not removed. Food was ok but disappointing for the money. Nice location and view.
We were very excited to attend this Thanksgiving Buffet-We enjoyed the ambiance, however everything was down hill from there. We had made reservations weeks prior-We were a party of 4-they sat us at a table with only 2 chairs-had to wait for them to bring 2 more chairs. It took awhile for our server to come to get our drink order-we had to stop a hostess seating another table asking them if we even had a server, or if we were forgotten-she suggested we go to the buffet first to get our plates. The food was cold and bland-when it was mentioned to the people at the chafing dishes they seemed as if they could care less, same with our server-she was a kid who just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. We mentioned our disappointment to a gentleman in a suit whom we assumed was the manager but he just apologized and wished us Happy Thanksgiving. We ate 1 plate-no dessert and paid $243-definitly not worth it. Had to stop at a take out Chinese restaurant on the way home. Very disappointed and will avoid McLoone's for awhile.
So I wouldn’t call the noise level energetic! The wait staff were excellent, very attentive. The food was better than average but not what I would expect for the $45 per adult that we paid...the turkey was dry even with the little bit of gravy that I was able to get from the pan. The salmon also was over cooked and dry. Vegetables were good. The petite desserts were good but the pies were not appealing so I just never tried them :(
Overall experience was great as far as food, but restaurant appeared to be extremely understaffed on a Sunday night despite only 1 dining room being open. We had to wait awhile to check into our reservation at the unmanned front desk and our waiter was frequently nowhere to be found throughout the night.
Lots of staff and friendly and helpful.food was very tasteful and filling
beautiful scenery and good fo9r groups lively bar area
Overall good experience. Waiter was was excellent. My 1st drink was watered down but they took it back with no problem. My 2nd drink was better. Entrées were pretty good, my crab cakes could have been hotter but still tasty. Truffle fries were very good. My partner bad the short ribs and enjoyed. Tiramusu was very delicious. The ambience of the restaurant was amazing. Nice and cozy and good music playing in the background.
Food took forever to come out and then we were told the kitchen lost our order ticket. They offered to comp 1 round of drinks and dessert but when the entrees did finally come out, it was mediocre.
The place is gorgeous inside and the location is fabulous! The staff was friendly and helpful. But….the food is just okay. Not worth the price and I wish they had more of a variety.
I have been to the Boathouse several times and it never disappoints. Good food, pleasant atmosphere, attentive and friendly service bring me back. A lovely deck overlooking a small lake and woods is especially nice in warm weather. In these covid times I really REALLY appreciated that the staff all wore masks. And when many restaurants are experiencing staff shortages, the Boathouse staff didn’t miss a beat with attention to details.
McLoones is a beautiful restaurant, beautiful view and cozy feeling near the fireplace. Food and service was exceptional
Dined for the Prisoner Wine Dinner and everything was amazing!
Had to wait 40 min before we had our order taken.
Bar service was poor. When we got to our table it was dirty. I pointed it out to the hostess and with an attitude she picked up some pieces of paper. The chair my husband was about to sit in was wet. We swapped the chair out ourselves.
On a very good note, our waitress was excellent and the food was very good
Horrible service. The worst I’ve ever had.
Beautiful view, comfortable setting and great service!
When we were served our meals not everyone was served at the same time. We ordered four shrimp cocktails. only one was served to one individual. 15 minutes later the other 3 were served their shrimp cocktails. We had to remove the used plates after we were finished. The waiters were non-existent.
we have eaten here several times and this was a major disappointment. Not sure if i will ever go back!!!!!
McLoone’s is a very well designed space. Our server though could have been more knowledgeable of the menu. He also forgot to start with the bread basket which when asked for had to ask for the butter. One of my friends who attended ordered the raw seafood platter and was very unsatisfied with the choice. I understand we are in NJ but if you’re a boathouse and have that on the menu please do better.
Food is really bad... kitchen is really slow... and the runners don't know anything about food. A guy brings out a quesadilla saying g it was a tiramisu... and he was looking at us saying... this is yours a tiramisu... I said we have our tiramisu... but that looks like a quesadilla... he was like no this is a tiramisu.... smh
Nice place, decent service, very noisy
It was a friends birthday . So we took her out for brunch. Food was very good however was disappointed about the cocktail. For years a Mamosa , or Bloody Mary was part of the brunch & no charge . Well now there is a charge & we weren’t told about the charge until the bill came. Too me that was wrong.
Service was very slow, food was oversalted. But it's a beautiful setting and the cocktails were excellent.
Overall pretty good. Service excellent. Signature crab cakes disappointing. Not enough crab and too much bread.
Our server was excellent… personable and knowledgeable. His friendliness and good nature made the evening enjoyable. The dining room was quite loud with energetic chatter competing with pumped in music. That’s great for a bar area, but takes away from the dining experience. The cocktail menu is very inventive and has some interesting choices. The food was good but was pricey considering what you were receiving. The menu could hVe more options for people who can’t eat dairy.
It’s so convenient to the zoo and family friendly. We’re always happy.
I brought my boss here for lunch which would have been delightful on their outside terrace except we were literally swarmed by ladybugs and other flying insects.
We managed for a while, finished our lunch and then went inside which was thankfully big free.
Food and service are always consistently good. It is a lovely oasis any time of the year.
Food was very good, servers were rather inexperienced, staff started running the vacuum cleaner in the dining area half an hour before closing and left a side door within 10 ft of our table open on a chilly evening to bring in condiments from the patio...and left it open for the rest of our meal. This may not be representative of the usual operation, but I advise not to go on a Sunday evening.
Waiter was outstanding. He was very nice and funny too. Food was decent portions for a fair price. The only issue was we could not get over how filthy the windows were! They were so dirty it was unreal!! Makes you question.....how dirty is the kitchen?????????????
Enjoyable experience! We will be going back again!
