The large room is a little loud. Consider something to help the acoustics in that room. Liana our waitress was great! Very personable, professional and capable. Food was very good especially at this price point.

We held a retirement dinner for a friend on Saturday May 3rd. Reservation was at 6 for 11 people. We were seated at 6 in front of the fireplace. Lovely. We sat their for over 35 minutes without anyone coming to take an order or fill a water glass. A person came over filled our water glasses and said someone will be right over. A waiter came by took our drink order at 6:45. At 7:00, I went to find a the manager and told him we have been waiting an hour and only had water. He was very apologetic and the Manager came by our table a few minutes later and took our order. Our drinks finally arrived at 7:15. That's 1 hour and 15 min since arriving. After that the appetizers came out and our dinners arrived shortly afterwards. The food was very good and we did finally enjoy our dinner. I had given the hostess a cake when we arrived. I asked for it for dessert. When it arrived at our table, a waitress (who I believe should have been the one taken our orders but refused to wait on us in the beginning) handed us the cake and some plates. I had to ask her for a knife to cut the cake and some utensils. She disappeared for awhile returning with a hugh carving knife the size of a mini sword with a plate of spoons on a tray. I have had many events at McLoones - graduations for both of my children (Seton Hall and Monmouth ), 50th & 60th birthday parties, many brunches at Long Branch, and a special dinners with family and friends. I have never been treated with such disrespect. I brought my friends there to have a retirement celebration for someone who worked 34 years with the school system to be ignored and by the wait staff was horrible. If you don't have the staff to cover the parties that you book, please inform people. The one waiter and the Manager did try to make it better but this event will be our last one at McLoones. Considering the amount of money that was spent for this evening, I truly wish I had gone to another restaurant.

The building, the fireplaces roaring, on the water...the ambience is lovely. Food was good. Everyone enjoyed the evening. We ate in doors; they have a beautiful patio for dining outside. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I cannot believe this place hasn’t been shut down yet. What a fantastic location for such an absolutely garbage establishment. The service is abysmal. I waited 30 min for a beer today. Was it because of the holiday? No. It’s always like this. The food is total trash too. Nothing is fresh. It’s all just microwaved junk. This place needs to close down. There is no quality in the food or the service. I only come here because it’s attached to the park. This place has zero management nor expectations of their staff.

While the food and service were very good, we waited 30 minutes past our reservation time for a table. It was uncomforyably loud. The floors in the dining and buffet areas were not kept clean. They ran out of glassware and dessert.

We arrived promptly for our 5:15 Easter dinner reservation but weren't seated until 6:00. A hostess brought us to an outdoor tent where no one else was seated, that was only partially set up, with tables and place settings, and was very far from the buffet, especially compared to the rest of the dining room. She said she would check for another table, and left us waiting there. She came back a few minutes later and brought us to a table in the dining room that had a tablecloth and nothing else—no napkins, silverware, salt and pepper, or small table lamps (like all the other tables had). The food on the buffet was not good—everything was dry or tough—and was not regularly replenished. Plates and cups were not being turned over and they turned to using plastic solo cups. No one who works there seems to care about anything. We won't be back.
