I don’t normally write reviews but I was somewhat disappointed with our experience. I reserved a table for five well in advance. We were taken to our table which was a table for four with five chairs so two of us ate on the corners of a square table. There were other tables that were larger so not entirely sure why we were out there. Several drinks and food items were not available and our wait staff could have been better. Not attentive and several different wait staff coming (no one could figure out who actually had our table. The food was ok but for the price I expected better. The view was beautiful and from what I saw the inside was really nice as well. It was our first time there and I’m not sure we would go back. This was a celebration of my daughter graduating college so we wanted it to be special but I really left not wanted to return nor would I recommend. Kinda disappointed
We had a wonderful time The food was great and the ambiance was beautiful. The service staff was kind and attentive. Overal great experience
Food was amazing, my waitress was very respectful, tended to our every needs. Very clean Resturant, spacious, noise level was very low. We really enjoyed our Mother’s Day dinner. Thank you!!!
Upon sitting down at our table we waited 36 minutes for anyone to approach our table, which only happened because my husband flagged down a waiter and he said he would find out who our server would be. Three other servers walked past and we still didn't even have water or bread! We then had a server take our drink order and instead of just apologizing for the wait said sorry I have 2, 16 person tables. I guess our table of 4 was not worth his time. Then we waited 15 more minutes for our 4 drinks to show up! Thankfully my 6 and 8 year olds are very well behaved and were just enjoying family time. We then got our food 1hr & 20 minutes later for there to be a hair in my son's fries and my husband's $48 steak to be cooked wrong. It was taken back and reheated and over cooked. The server took the steak what was never touched off check and we asked to see the manger. We explained the issues and the manger said "let me see what I can do," he took off $7 from the check and had the server deliver it back to us. My poor husband never even ate dinner! We used to visit often after zoo trips for lunch or dinner but unfortunately my mother's day dinner was horrible and I will not be going back.
Mother’s Day Brunch. The worst meal I’ve ever had; hands down. The picture on the left, some sort of chicken, is what the plate looked like when the nice waiter put it down on our table. Not a place for regulars but the location is nice.
Food and service was great!
Didn’t know they were not offering the full menu on Mother’s Day but the options were still pretty good and we enjoyed everything !
Need to make clear that M
We were there for Mother’s Day brunch. Upon arrival, I noticed several tables that have not been cleared and the floors were in desperate need of sweeping. I immediately didn’t feel comfortable as we sat down. Our server was good and she did her best. I knew the service would be on the slow side because of the holiday. Our food took a while to come out, which I was ok with. I would rate the quality and taste of the food 5/10. I did like the appearance of the restaurant from the outside and the entryway, the fireplace looked cozy. I might try Mcloon’s again on a non holiday.
Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!! After seating us, we sat for 20 minutes before we had to ask if anyone was going to be our server. We were a table of 8 so I can't imagine ni one not not seeing us.. The manager came over poured us water and had two plates brought over one with 5 mini croissants the other with 6 mini muffins, and the waitress took our drink order's. So we are now here for one full hour and all we have is water, mini muffins/croissants. Finally to get up and again ask if anyone is going to serve us. When they finally bring us food we ate off of the small bread/appetizer plates because they never brought us plates. Will never go back. We had come for the brunch to check it out for a possible wedding rehearsal dinner, but noway wilI we ever come back to this place.
Our food took over an hour to come out, and then it was wrong. We had to seek out a manager and ASK to be comped. It was pretty ludicrous.
There was a birthday party for a 13 year old in an adjoining room, which made a place that is already very loud, even more loud. Some sound deadening material somewhere would help. The waitstaff was very good. However they were let down by a wobbly table top and uninspired food. The shrimp appetizer was tasty, but the shrimp themselves were over cooked by a mile. The steak that my wife had was tasty and cooked properly. However my risotto which came with three scallops and two prawns was downright dull and tasteless. The three small scallops had no flavor whatsoever. Eating the prawns first required the dissection skills of a coroner, and the taste was as lifeless as their fully intact bodies.
Mother’s Day lunch. Had to wait 30 minutes after reservation to be seated. Food was great. Service was great. Noise level very high.
Food was average, definitely not worth the high prices. Restaurant atmosphere is nice. Had outdoor table reservation but they don’t have their heat lamps up any more but Spring nights are still too chilly to eat outside.
We went to the Boathouse for the 1st time for my husband’s 60th birthday 🥳
The food was delicious and the service was great. My only wish was that it was a little warmer out so we could have ate outside overlooking the water- hopefully next time.
We have been to McCloones before, not sure what happened this time. Had a reservation, but it took 25 minutes to get sat. I was another 20 before we were greeted by our server. We were at the table 45 minutes before drinks and bread were delivered. We order an app and two entrees. The app came out with the entrees, which we then sent back. The salad my fellow diner ordered was so overdressed that she couldn’t eat it. My entree was as expected. Our server seemed to be very new and not in a rush. Atmosphere was as pleasant as always. I’m sure the service defector was due to covid.
Everything was exceptional, can't wait to come back soon and enjoy the outside area
Menu was outdated and had Fall specials and drinks. Requested a margarita without sour mix, server brought drinks and said the bartender did not use sour mix when he clearly did. Noted this to the server but nothing was done to remedy it. Asked about a heat lamp, server said she would check with her manager but were told they didn’t have any propane to light them.
Great mid-afternoon lunch with delicious food - mussels, short rib grilled cheese and angry fish tacos (plus a happy kid who ate off of the kids’ menu), great service and a beautiful view.
Daughter loved the Sangria and Wontons, both recommended by the server.
They were out of salmon burgers and I didn’t like the veggie burger.
Food and service was excellent. Nice clean and comfortable
Food was not good. Service, although very nice, was very slow. Great atmosphere and views from back porch though.
I really enjoyed it here. I am glad I did not listen to the reviews. The servers/waiter were great! Devin provided us with such great service and courtesy. He was super attentive and polite. The food was good, we had calamari, wings, hamburger, steak frites, and the shrimp arrabiatta. Everyone enjoyed their food, no complaints. I also enjoyed the lovely view of the lake. Definitely on my list to visit again. I recommend for others to visit as well.
Afterwards, we also walked around the lake. Super nice and relaxing.
Great view/ambiance, great service, long wait and food was blahhhh so expensive for cheapo food. Get better food or lower the price. Taste like Applebee’s 😶
Great place for a special dinner. Large outdoor seating area
Great ambiance and courteous staff. Food was well prepared and overall atmosphere was enjoyable.
Food wasn’t tasty. To much filling in the crab cakes. Too much dressing on the salad. Steak over-cooked not medium. Shirley temple. All grenadine with little to no sprite. Over priced for the execution.
Great location, but management should take a look at specifics, including updating the menu that is still labeled “Fall” and honoring reservations on time.
Very accommodating - the service was attentive; the outdoor dining was attractive
We had a reservation and never the less waited about 20 min to be seated. We have been twice now and our service was extremely mediocre both times.
Celebrating my daughter’s 1st communion. Party of 23. We had the prefix menu for lunch. Service was great. Food was good. Overall satisfied. Will continue to come here in the near future.
Food was excellent but the server would disappear for long periods which tarnished a wonderful night
Beautiful venue- but you will pay for it with above avg prices.
Ambiance was great. A lot of young staff who were friendly and appeared to work hard but several things were overlooked and several mistakes were made that soured parts of our experience. Some of our party were quite disappointed with their meals. Unfortunately for the prices, I would have expected better. I might recommend it as a meet up where food isn't really your primary focus but rather nice drinks, ambiance, time with people you enjoy and don't mind things falling short here and there.
Awesome place, awesome service, awesome food. And a walk around the lake before lunch was an added bonus. I have already recommended to friends who have gone and feel exactly the same!
Loved the new menu ,service was good as well
I’ve been dining at McLoone’s for 2-3 years, and the service is always great, and the food is pretty good, the drinks too. Awesome!!
Good time on food and exquisite view outside. Staff is very friendly
