Pleasant, friendly server. Food was very good. Dessert floating island was very nice.
Food was great as always. Would recommend this place to anyone.
It was disappointing of the items that were sold out by 1.
Very noisy but we did our part. Haha.
Everything was good. The quiche looked good but forgot to ask how it was.
Excellent food. Especially the chips. Friendly service. Relaxed setting.
Great tasty food, service was lovely and atmosphere was cozy!
excellent again Enjoyed the Thai bowl. Easier to eat when I could put some aside in a box to take home.
very lovely as always..
Great place to catch up with a friend.
Lovely place to eat, there was a few bothersome flies indoors but otherwise delightful
Great good. Great service. Great fun!
The service was excellent and the food was great. Just nice to be out with a friend.
Very good food and service. Prices are escalating beyond my budget which makes visits for special occasions only.
Great little place. Good food. Good prices. Will definitely be going back.
Very friendly and beyond necessary service. Really like the new wall paper. Makes for relaxing atmosphere
Fantastic ambience, great food, and fast, personable and friendly service. Would recommend to anyone.
Such a great little place! Our waitress was friendly and personable. The food was good. For myself, I found the meat to bread ratio out of balance on my sandwhich too much meat , but my husband thought it was perfect. It comes down to personal preference I think. Flavors were excellent and the beer & cheddar soup was exceptional! My only concern is although the website indicates vaccination cards would be checked they were not and when I asked after being seated if they wanted to see it the waitress didn’t know. She was fairly new. We were the only people there but I still think that they should have been reviewed
I took my sister for a late lunch today and it was fabulous. We both ordered the chicken and artichoke wrap and salads and all were delicious. Service, as usual, was excellent! Thanks Jon and staff
Absolutely the best food.
Loved it & will return again.
Took a very long time to be served once seated. We sat for approximately 15 min before anyone came up to offer us tea. The rooms were very loud and crowded, but when we were leaving we saw that the sunroom was completely open and no one had been seated in there. The whole establishment just looked like it was understaffed. The decor is really the only reason to visit.
Great price, quality service, wonderful staff. The food was excellent and unique!
It took 55 minutes for our food to arrive [3 specials-mushroom and brie quiche, with spinach salad, and a burger with apple salad].It was not at all busy! The quiche were fresh out of the oven, and the burger was warm. The quiche had very little flavor, the burger was tasty.
Fantastic outing for a girly time together (altho the boys might enjoy it as well). Lots to eat, couldn''t finish it all so happily took along a doggie bag. Caught them on a very busy day so service took quite awhile but overall it was nice to slow down and enjoy such a time honoured tradition as High Tea! Highly recommend!
There was a huge draft coming in from the outdoor patio on the northwest corner of the building. I was sitting in the veranda. Also the patio door was left open & there were many flies in our room and also many wasps which made it very uncomfortable. I would suggest a screen door or keeping the door closed as the bugs were really bothersome.
We had a very pleasant evening. It started with an unusual but remarkable appetizer of loaded chips with the house dip along with delectable lobster stuffed mushrooms. Our mains of lobster rolls and a Thai Noodle dish were so delicious. They were able to give my sister a GF bun which was fluffy!! Then came the very special floating island desserts, amazing. Our servers were thorough in checking with kitchen staff about several dietary needs. We will definitely be returning!!!
Everything was very good. I would definately recommend Macleod House.
Lovely place! The 2 of us decided to have one High Tea plus an appetizer. A couple of the High Tea sandwiches were dry and I wouldn't recommend sharing a High Tea unless you want a small snack. The appetizer was a warm shrimp & scallop dip served with pita bread. It was ample and delicious and we left feeling well fed. We will definitely go back to try some mains. Pleasant server too!
Very enjoyable! Thank you!
We were a little late for your reservation. It was no problem.
While the meal itself was good, the restaurant needs a good houseclean. Very dirty! Also, when requesting an indoor table with our reservation, we were told once arriving that this was not possible and that the weather was not their problem. Probably not returning due to the negative overall atmosphere.
Sorry to hear that the experience was not what you expected. I will address the staff regarding your concerns as this is not how we wish our guests be treated.
Unfortunately because we had a late sitting for lunch, a number of our chosen items were not available. Otherwise we really enjoyed the rest of our lunch particularly the scone with devonshire cream.
Always a lovely visit and a very unique dining experience. The atmosphere is wonderful. I ordered the chicken and brie sandwich. I was expecting a sandwich, not a bun. Other sandwich menu items specified a bun so I was expecting a sandwich. It was very tasty. Love visiting the boutique upstairs.
Thank you. It was great serving you.
I was disappointed that the high tea was not available on Sunday. I was unaware of that and had invited three of my family for "Tea" their birthdays. I was also disappointed that even though I had put "Birthday" on my reservation, nothing was offered for a birthday dessert.
However, on the plus side, the staff was excellent, and the food we were able to order, while not what we had driven all that way for, was delicious.
Sorry to hear that you missed out on the High Tea. We do offer it on Sunday provided that we have 24hours notice and next time I will make sure that the staff has a few of the desserts ready on Sunday for special occasions.
I have always enjoyed going to Stonewall and the McLeod Teahouse for lunch.
The veranda is my favourite place but we found ourselves in a new ( to us) room further to the left of the veranda which was not screened in but served us well with the exception of some flies so my hopes are that this alternate room will be screened too.
The menu was extensive and I loved my delicious lunch. The service was very good and responsive to queries about the food .
Would I go back yes. One suggestion might be to have some promotional
Information about other unique aspects of Stonewall like the Manitoba Black Bear Rescue as I would have loved to have inquired about visiting and donating to this critically needed rescue program given the dire season for bears in Manitoba .
We are hoping to convert the veranda to a four season addition this fall and then we can work on getting the north porch screened in and ready for next summer. I really like your idea of having information here for other unique locations in Stonewall to visit as well.
Excellent menu. New boutique items. Overheard and agreed we were missing the tea towels with sayings. Always a nice gift
More wall ambience
Even more new items today in the boutique. Joy just spent the better part of the evening unpacking!
Very courteous, friendly service. We were comfortable in the open air porch. Lovely ambiance.Food was good with generous portions.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at McLeod House! From the time we walked into the front door to leaving was very pleasurable! Thank you
Wonderful afternoon tea. A little bit of everything. Lovely service and did not feel rushed at all. We also enjoyed browsing the upstairs gift shop. Great place to go with a peaceful atmosphere.
Glad you enjoyed the Tea.
Very poor server service. Waited and waited for cream for my tea. While she wax doing who knows what. There wasn’t anyone there. What you get for afternoon tea I can do at home. Too high priced. Will never go back,
I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience yesterday and will address your concerns with our wait staff. The afternoon Tea has been a staple here for over 16 years but if it is not up to your expectations I might recommend the High Tea next time.
Excellent food and ambience out on the patio! Got our appetizer after our meal, other than that - all good!
Oops. Sorry about the appetizer, sometimes in the rush of the moment I get a bit ahead of myself I guess. Glad you enjoyed it though.
Excellent dinning experience. Gerry and I had eaten at the McLeod House before the Covid restrictions and have always had consistently good food and service. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We have recommended the McLeod House to our friends. We will continue to visit the beautiful community of Stonewall and eat at the McLeod House. We are very glad it is open.
