We were the noisy people. Had a satisfying tasty meal with great service
What a great lunch. Good friends, wonderful food - the tomato basil soup was soooo good, lovely fall weather, delicious scone for dessert. I always hope that the restaurant has good coffee and this place didn’t disappoint. Strong and flavourful. Go here you won’t regret it
The atmosphere was warm and cozy. The service quick and friendly.
The tea house is one of our favorite places to go but we've noticed the last two times we've gone the decor is very plain and sparse. It doesn't really have that cozy tea house feel anymore. Also the radio was playing loudly. Not really something that should be playing at a tea house doesn't suit the ambiance. Dont really go to a tea house to listen to a loud radio. If music has to be playing it should be mellow music and should be at a very low level.
We have been there a couple of times and really enjoy going there. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the food is very good. I definitely would come back next year.
Love McLeod house one of my fav places to go to! The shopping was great too! Ambience great!
The screens were still open on the porch so it was a bit cool. The food and service was very good.
Loved the food as it hasn’t changed from the new owners. We enjoyed the experience
A very disappointing experience.
Food was good as usual however...the chicken salad was lacking in apricots as well, there were NO cranberries in it either. My partner’s salad was a little skimpy on the blue cheese.
The soup was not hot enough and kind of watery.the sandwich was good but the bread did not seem to be really fresh. The shopping was very sparse.
The ambience is no reflection on McLeod House, but is simply a condition of these times. I felt that my cucumber and herb cheese sandwich could have used a little more attention. It was relatively flavorless. Like the ambience.
The food was very good and the prices were exceptionally fair. I was disappointed in the gift shop upstairs it wasn’t as good as past years, hopefully they aren’t trying to do away with that part of the restaurant.
We have been to this favourite place many times
My companion had the wrap and I had the quiche. Both delicious. Service was excellent. The only complaint was the coffee, not strong enough. Otherwise a great lunch
I've been to other High Teas in Manitoba but this one was remarkable. It's a great value! The food was delicious but the sandwiches were too large. By the time you finished your share of the sandwiches you could barely get through their amazing desserts! Highly recommend (especially if you are hungry!)
Great little country tea house/restaurant in a nice garden setting! Great friendly service and tasty home-style food. Nice little drive from the city.
Due to Covid the experience was less satisfying than normal.
It was almost too quiet.
The decor on the wall was less than normal. I typically live looking at all the items displayed.
My broccoli salad had very little dressing. A disappointment.
My corn beef sandwich had very little mustard. My husband agreed as he had the same. The desserts were very good.
The shopping upstairs was limited. I suspect also due to Covid 19.
I will be back!
Great service. Sandwich was super, broccoli salad needed more dressing, and my dessert was frozen like a rock. Tea was lovely and the place was clean and cute.
Great place..good food and service, and nice gift shop. A.little bakery selling the pies and scones etc woikd be a great addition.
Absolutely LOVE our Local Tea House in Stonewall and Soooooooo Wonderful it’s back open!!!- Amazing, DELICIOUS Food, GREAT Service & just a LOVELY place to meet Friends-
Quaint tea house and gift shop, loved every minute!
Loved the food and service. Especially the fresh bread in the sandwiches. Next time I will book the reservation by telephone. We are going back for British afternoon tea, later in August.
Food was tasty and presented well. Restaurant is quaint and cozy.
Wonderful ambiance. Food is always great and the service was great as well. Very attentive, but no hovering.
We found that the noise does travel due to the acoustics. That's okay, we just talked louder. Lovely lunch
Food was very delicious. Some items were sold out. Service was slow in taking our orders. Kitchen staff came out to verify what we wanted. The gift shop was not what we expected. Very limited.
Lovely restaurant and gift shop in a beautiful town, will visit again
A wonderfully enchanting little place that's a beautiful drive to get to! My kids are 3 and 5. They loved having tea in a real tea cup at a 'real tea party'. Food was delicious! Everything about this experience was a call back to old world charm that is so hard to find these days. Will definitely return soon! Thanks for the wonderful experience!
Beautiful spot with delicious homemade sandwiches
My only complaint about food was that my soup was cold....not usually.
We went to McLeod House for lunch. We ordered the High Tea and it was delicious and the presentation was lovely. Definitely recommend both the High Tea and the setting.
Everything was great as usual the only thing I would suggest is to turn off the radio. We were sitting in the porch and all I could hear was the radio. People dont come to a nice country tea house to listen to the radio we go for the quiet peaceful ambiance. Maybe if it was soothing relaxation music I wouldn't have minded so much. But food and service were great!
We haven’t eaten in any other restaurants in Stonewall.
Maybe cut the broccoli for your new broccoli salad into smaller pieces, and mix the dressing with the broccoli ,cheese, bacon and whatever else goes in there . Broccoli pieces were quite large.
The reno is coming along nicely ...good job..
Excellent good , good value and good service. Ambiance was a lower rating only because of COVID-19. The tables were far apart with no pretty table cloths and beautiful accessories.
The meal was very good - soup, salad and sandwich. The wide tea assortment is what draws me to visit. I was a bit disappointed with presentation of their second floor gifts area but looked like they're under construction in a few areas.
Went for a late lunch early dinner. Didn’t know the menu at all, one of us was hoping for a cooked meal, but the soup salad sandwich choice was very good and plentiful. Left with plans to return in the near future. The house is very charming, with a gift shop upstairs. If I were to say anything could be improved on, I would say the outside view from the window at the table, being March I don’t expect to see pots of flowers naturally. But something to attract attention such as statuary or lighted shrubbery would be nice.
As always, wonderful. I took my friend/co-worker to McLeod House this week. It was her first time there. We loved everything except for the eater near us complaining constantly about how ice cold her milk was for her tea. I really do have a soft spot for the things wait staff have to put up with.
Thanks again for an outstanding time.
Great you are now open on Mondays. Hope the spring items for the gift shop arrive soon.
I dont find it conducive for good conversation when the tables are so tightly squeezed in.
Food is delicious, service great, a special place to have lunch.
