    Fortunate to be allocated a lovely table by the first of many excellent staff. Throughout the evening the service was excellent and we had a very enjoyable ‘date night’. Special mention for Tom, still smiling and chatting at end of a full shift. Thanks all.

    Just average. Nothing much else to say. Veg was hard but cauliflower cheese was lovely. Med rare bivette was chewy. Overall wouldn’t go back.

    My friends and I had an excellent Sunday brunch here. Great menu and we thought it was very well priced. The service was fantastic - with local friendly staff. Great - we will be back.

    Food tasted lovely but all the roast dinners were just warm. The service was very slow, we were there an hour and half before we got our starter. We had 2 young children so they became very impatient waiting for their dinner. We had to ask twice for someone to take our drinks order. Overall the food was ok but I probably wouldn’t rush back.

We do our best to ensure our staffing levels are right but with hindsight we didn't quitte get it right on this occasion. Unfortunately issues with Kitchen equipment only added to wait times. We do hope you will join us again so we can deliver an experience to remember for all the right reasons!

    Good food atmosphere etc I felt as I had a small dog the people at the nxt table did not like the fact that she was there. So it made me feel uncomfortable It’s great you allow dogs, I was happy about that

    Food was good, service is good, It's good vfm. Only downside is that the outside door is open all the time and it can be cold and draughty.

    A good place to go in a crowd. Nice atmosphere and lovely staff. Food a bit underwhelming or maybe I choose badly ? Prices a bit on the high side. Happy to give it another try

    Very cheery happy waitress. Food was plentiful and very tasty. We had brunch, great choice in menu and our 2 kids enjoyed their pancakes. My only very slight gripe would be the coffee. It was average coffee (and could have been hotter). Would defo go back, child friendly and we would be confident to take our dog next time as quite a few in.

    Four of us had supper at McLaren's last night. The service was very good. The music was too loud for our tastes but then perhaps it appeals to a younger clientele (we are all in our sixties). The staff were happy to reduce the volume at our request though. The quality of the food was reasonable but not excellent. The steak was a little undercooked on the inside and my dish was not hot when it arrived. The fish was good though. Overall I would say the experience was slightly above average.

    Loved the food and the service, great staff who were genuine and friendly. Only 2 bits of constructive feedback is I would have liked a bit longer between starter and main and the music was just a tad too loud. But i will definitely be back

    Fantastic fish and chips. Crisp batter, super fresh fish, roasting hot chips. Thoroughly recommend. Service was excellent-not intrusive in any way - wines recommended were also super. Can’t wait to go back!

    Second visit here and it was absolutely amazing, the staff accommodated us after I didn’t read the email realising food stopped 15 mins before we arrived. Still the best food and service ever!

    My friends and I were excited to visit as we used to work there when it was a bank but the service was slow as we waited nearly 45/50 mins on our meal to arrive, which was disappointing as it was not busy wile we were there for 1:30pm lunch. Also it was drafty at table we were at and needed to sit with jackets on (waiter said it was due to air vent)! That said food was good but not sure we would return

    Our party included 2 babies and the staff were so accommodating. They offered high chairs and provided hot water to heat our babies food when we needed it all without making us feel like this was an inconvenience. Food was nice, the burger was particularly good. Restaurant was quiet when we visited (midweek). We would definitely visit again. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

    We didn’t have a great experience. Ordered ‘pie of the day’ which we were told was chicken & mushroom. When it came it was filled with lots of sweet corn & something very finely shredded which tasted & smelled strongly of fish. Waitress agreed & said she thought it was smoked salmon. It was taken away & replaced with fish & chips which was lovely. However….the waitress returned a little while later to tell us the chef said ‘he often includes fish in his chicken pies & it was meant to be like that’…..hmmm Serving staff were lovely but fish in a chicken pie…..really???

    I had the smoked haddock and it was so salty, one friend had steak which was virtually unchewable and another had ham eggs and chip and she had to ask for a steak knife to cut the ham. Not what I expected as I had eaten there many times before.
