Marlen was great, we’ve been coming to Mckenzie’s for thanksgiving eve eve for years and always love it. Marlen was very attentive and very pleasant.
Great food and service! Shrimp appetizer was great as well as the French dip!
It was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a while. The waiter had way too many tables and our dirty dishes were stacked in the middle of our table. They forgot our drinks several times, for most of our food order wrong and the manager walked around acting as if everything was going great. It was a very bad experience and we will not be going back.
Delicious meal and our waitress was very attentive. The Buddha bowl is outstanding. I substituted rice for the noodles and it was such a warm, hearty meal for a cold night.
Great Food! Quick service at the bar. Affordable.
We had a bit of a shaky start (slow service, bar was backed up, and no water pitchers were available), but our waitress made the best of the situation. It seemed like the restaurant was very understaffed plus incredibly busy. Considering that we have not been eating out for the past several months, it reminded us why we don't like to dine out on a weekend night. However, the food was great!
A new restaurant favorite while my daughter attends graduate school. Third time here and food was delicious. My favorite is the Key West with spicy salmon salad!
Brianna was pleasant, professional and efficient!!!
Just what we have come to expect -no disappointment
The food was excellent but the service was a bit slow at times. Overall a good experience
Nothing I had was good except for the fries. Flat soda, horrible wait service. Never even asked if everything was alright. My mom ate a few bites and she took away a whole plate and never questioned if something was wrong when she said no to a box. Will not be returning. Only good thing is the hostess was very pleasant on arrival and departure
Our order was wrong and service was sporadic. This is the 2nd time that I had poor service here. There will not be a 3rd chance.
Service was great, was surprise. arrive Sunday at 12:30, no platter meals until 4.
We still had excellent sandwiches, etc in a nice setting.
Delicious food, generous servings, and wonderful wait staff. We really enjoyed our visit. Clean and really attractive rooms.
We dined during Happy Hour and was happy to order spinach and artichoke dip, steamer clams, calamari and buffalo cauliflower. The clams were overly salty, as if they had been salted when cooked, the calamari came out drenched in a lemon sauce which would have been better on the side so we could choose if it was appropriate or not, it ended up making the calamari wet and not cripsy. The dip and cauliflower were both well executed and tasty. Our main meals were jambalaya, lobster cakes and fish and chips which was the special. The jambalaya came out decorated with a dried chili that seemed to be deep fried, and kinda looked like a dead snake. The fish and chips were adequate, and unfortunately cold as if the fries were being held on the side after being fried which also made the fish soggy. A nice treat was the side of malt vinegar. The slaw was exceptionally onion heavy, which was very off putting. The lobster cakes were also cold along with the fries and same onion slaw. Cheap drinks, and a server who was friendly and engaging helped to make this a tolerable experience. We will try again with high hopes.
Excellent service and everyone raved about the food.
We were seated out on the deck under an awning. Food was plentiful and delicious.
They forgot about us- we sat there forever before they came to take our order. I had to get up and tell someone, otherwise I think we would have sat there for an hour or more. It wasn’t even too busy.
Great burger and bratwurst sandwiches! Noisy when full
We decided to go out at the last minute and I’m glad we did. Food was very good. Service was great.
Ordered my hamburger "RARE" it was was not even close, more like well done.
You need to do a correct execution of your guests orders
The overall experience was good. The food was good, quiet atmosphere on a Saturday Evening and not croweded overall.
We went to McKenzie’s for Sunday Brunch on Father’s Day, having checked out their Sunday Brunch menu on the Open Table website. That large and varied menu was NOT what we were offered when we arrived. Nor was there a Bloody Mary Bar as offered in the online menu. There were only 3 brunch/breakfast items on the regular menu we were given. We complained to the waitress who was surprised about the online menu saying only that it was an old menu and she would alert management that it needed to be updated. My husband had the Eggs Benedict which was tasty but served on a dry, hard English muffin that was very difficult to cut. I had the blueberry pancakes which were also dry and fell apart when lifted to butter each one in the stack of three. Speaking of butter, none was provided. I had to hail the waitress back to request it. Then when I started to butter my pancakes, I realized that I had been given chive butter— which I like, but not on blueberry pancakes. I used it anyway. The pancake syrup was provided in a little 2” container that was half full—not nearly enough for 3 pancakes. I would like to have asked for more, but was afraid I was already being a pest. On the bright side, my bacon was crisp and delicious and there was a very nice fruit dish of assorted fresh berries provided with each of our meals. Mine also came with a 3” ramekin of swirled whipped cream, which I thought at first was for the berries, but since my husband didn’t get any cream with his berries I had to reassess what to do with it. I suppose I could have dumped all of the fresh berries over my pancakes and topped them with the cream, but if you prefer your pancakes with butter and syrup, as I do, make sure to ask for (plain) butter and extra syrup.
Lovely atmosphere - great service - delicious food - LOVED to see smiling faces :-)
Great food and service
Food was delish!
Requested dining room seating when making the reservation. When we arrived hostess asked if we wanted outside dining on a cold, rainy night .
Then tried to seat us in bar area where it was super loud. It clearly states on reservation requesting if you want outside dining, bar area or dining room. What’s the point of asking?
Otherwise good was very good!
great staff, food was excellent. Would highly recommend
The beers at always good. Food is good a their standard! It was Friday night and quite busy, our waitress tried her best.
have been here many times always good food and service
Service was excellent, server couldn’t have been more helpful and ckd on us frequently, but not obtrusively.
Food was very good, esp the baby back ribs.
Noise level was on the higher side, so sometimes difficult to converse, but overall an excellent time.
Mother’s Day. When I made the reservation in Open Table I was not aware that it was a buffet style. I was a little disappointed because I was excited to order my favorites. Overall it was good.
We had a wonderful Mother's Day outing at McKenzie's. The buffet was delicious and the service was wonderful. Thank you!
Went for Mother's Day Brunch. Food was good could have used a 2nd food station. The overall service was good and attentive.
We went here for Mother’s Day brunch. While I can certainly understand the challenges the restaurants are faced with right now, coking back from Covid regulations and staffing, our service was terrible. First, We made reservations here thinking it was the normal sit down brunch. When we arrived, we saw that it was a buffet. For the amount of people that were there, there should have been two lines. There was only one, which wrapped around the restaurant. Second, our waitress only had to provide drinks. We received the wrong drinks, twice. When we received our drinks, the coffee cups had some sort of residue on them. Sent them back twice and never received an actual good drinkable cup. Third, once we finally finished eating. It took forever for the waitress to come back with the check. Once we have her the credit card, it took 20 minutes and a walk to the hostess to get our credit card and receipt back. The whole experience kind of soured our morning.
Wait for food was excruciatingly long & orders came out incorrectly (burger cooked well done instead of medium, reg fries were plated instead of sweet potato fries as ordered, dressing on salad instead of on side). Drink orders were wrong too. Inattentive waiter who didn’t seem to care either. Tried to be patient as the industry has been hit hard but this needs to be better.
Excellent service, great ribs. Even put a candle on my Son's birthday cheesecake.
A nice surprise for a random reservation made on our way to a basketball tournament. A diverse menu with something for everyone. We had nachos as an appetizer and they were delicious and plentiful. My daughter had a wood fired pizza which was very good. I ad the French dip sandwich and it was probably the best one I’ve ever had. My husband had beach tacos and devoured them. My older daughter had a noodle bowl and she loved it, as did my husband after tasting it. Our server was delightful and attentive. If in the area again, I would definitely dine at McKenzie’s. Oh, I forgot to add that their house craft beers were delicious, as well!
Great for kids
Went to McKenzie’s hoping for brunch but the brunch menu was EXTREMELY limited. I looked up the menu online prior to making the reservation and saw a huge selection, therefore I made the reservation. I was highly disappointed to see that there were only 4-5 choices once I arrived. We were seated at our table and waited nearly 20 minutes until our drink orders were taken. Once our drinks arrived we waited another 20-25 minutes to place our food order. They seemed to be understaffed because our server was extremely apologetic for our wait as she was making drinks for the entire restaurant, a baby shower and our server. She comped our first round of drinks and thanked us for our patience. We placed our food order and all of the extra items that we requested were missing once our food arrived. The pickle that was on my plate looked like it was 7 days old. I asked for a fresher looking pickle. There were huge gaps of time that we were just left sitting without anyone checking on us. I don’t want to be that person that complains and makes a scene but for my first time here I cannot say that I would be anxious to return or tell my friends to visit. The food was average in my opinion and I think that if the brunch menu is going to be limited you should note that on your website, especially if brunch is served until 4 pm.
The food was great, we ordered an appetizer, got delayed coming out but still ok, waited a while for food asked if salads were coming came with the main course too many plates on table, wasn't an enjoyable experience. Asked waitress why salads came same as entree and she said that's the policy.
