My husband is a 20-year Navy veteran who served as a Corpsman & we went to McGraths to take advantage of their promotional Veterans Day specials. When we arrived after making reservations the day before to ensure social distance seating, the hostess was immediately rude stating they don’t honor any reservations on Veteran’s Day and states that it is first come, first serve seating. She grumbled about all the covid restrictions preventing them from doing normal seating and reservation requests. When the waitress came out, she was clearly not aware the difference between an Amber and an IPA beer. She did not know what a Malbec was and when I tried to describe, she became insulted. She thanked all the other patrons at tables around us for their service but said nothing to my husband. Although the food was decent, we clearly won’t be coming back based solely on our experience and won’t be recommending to others.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Will go there again.
I reserved a table for 4 Adults and a toddler. When we arrived McGrath's had the reservation for 2. But no problem. The place was empty except for a table of 4, and of course the Manager sat us right next to this other group, so we competed for our conversations(we won because of the noisy toddler).
We all ordered and appetizers, and entrees arrived in a timely manner. Even though it is primarily a fish place I ordered Baby back ribs. The first bite I took I had to spit out as the meat was hard and dry(like it was microwaved). I did not eat anymore and sent the order back as I did not want it.
The Manager came out with the Waitress and proceeded to tell me how tender it was at the other end. She even demonstrated by pulling some meat off. As the ribs were a 1/2 order this did not amount to much. This was ridiculous action by the Manager as even if I would have accepted the order, I now wouldn't eat because of her hands on it.
Instead of arguing with a customer, the Manager should have refunded the meal without issue.
As it was the meal cost me over $ 95. Will not be going back.
We went to early to avoid the dinner crowd on a Sat. The food was very good and hot. Value was great as we had the endless shrimp platter. Don't order a daiquiri as they don't have all the ingredients to make it right.
Food was ok and service was slow. Expected better seafood from a seafood restaurant.
We were seated quickly and our server, Kathleen was very prompt, polite and served our meals quickly.
As always. Fantastic.
We went to dinner for our Wedding Anniversary. Very enjoyable evening!
McGrath's has done a good job of adapting to the pandemic. The food is still as good as I remember it and the wait staff very friendly and attentive. I noticed a chip in my martini glass when I was more than half finished with it and they brought me a full new one free of charge. Everything was very clean and all the staff were wearing masks and gloves on the night I was there.
It was my birthday. It was first time with family going out during the pandemic.
Was a little nervous, but everything went very well. No one was seated anywhere close to another. All the employees were masked. Food was wonderful & we can’t wait to go back.
