Overall the food was very good and the service was excellent. My wife and I enjoyed the hamburgers and my MIL said the French dip was also tasty. Portions are generous so we didn't have room for dessert. Reservations are essential during busy times since waits exceeding 40 minutes are not unusual due to the limited table space.

We had reservations for later in the evening but arrived early they were able to sit us anyway. It was crowded the place was full. The food was really good. (The fried green tomatoes were tasty and I had the corned beef and cabbage). The singer was absolutely fabulous great songs it was an enjoyable evening after a 3 hour drive to get there.

The food was excellent; the music was a tad much for such a small space- restaurant only holds like 15 tables maybe so for a guitar playing it seemed super loud- plus there was never a break in the singing- 2 hours of straight music, but she did sing well so that helped! Overall we will be back!

We were very disappointed the the food as the menu looked outstanding, it tasted like everything was not freshly prepared from scratch. Decor was terrific. Service was fine.

First, the positives: the lady that was singing had an amazing voice and the volume at which the music was being played/sung was perfect. Loud enough to hear but we could still have a conversation. We liked the atmosphere of the restaurant and with our reservation we were seated quickly. The negatives: They first tried to seat us in a table that was in a junked-up hallway (to the bathroom??, not sure where that hall lead to). It was the only table in this hallway and very awkward. It looked like it was a table that was pushed back there to get it out of the way and yet they tried to seat us there. We immediately asked for another table and they took us to one in the main dining area which made me wonder why they tried to push us off to a hallway to begin with; my beer was not in the least cold so for the 2nd beer I asked for it over ice. My husband ordered a non-alcholoic beer and he had to wait 15 min for it because the waitress said "it was warm and she needed to give it time to get cold" (which was not cold anyway when she did finally bring it). I would think a bar would have cold beer and so that was dispappointing; when I made the reservation I was asked if our upcoming visit was a special occasion and I wrote that yes, it was our 36 wedding anniversary. Why do you ask that if absolutely nothing is done about it? ; lastly, we both ordere fish and chips. For the high price of this item, the quality was just ok. The fries were good but the fish was nothing to write home about, not for that price. All in all the experience just ok. I have not reason to go back or to recommend it other than the music and atmosphere were nice and relaxing.

An outstanding Irish pub/restaurant with wonderful food and a traditional menu. My husband and I live in Longview and there is nothing to compare in our town. We gladly make the 30 minute drive and are never disappointed!!

Waiter completely messed up our dinner order. Food we got was like warm and not good at all. Don’t know why this place gets good reviews. Lousy service, lousy food, and we asked for standard table seating and were seated at a high top table. Save your money and go somewhere else as there are several other much better restaurants

This is our 2nd time at McGarity's and as the 1st it did not disappoint. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is fun. This time we went on a Saturday night and there was live entertainment which is always a treat. The lady on guitar was very good, and did not even take a break. We will definitely be back.

Steakhouse prices, Not Steakhouse quality. Ribeye was way overcooked. We also added the extra shrimp and crab. The crab was so butchered with some kind of seasoning the saltiness was though the roof, and we like salty. Stick with a chicken fried steak, you'll probably be much happier. Live music was a nice touch, but at the volume it was at, we could barely hear each other across from one another. Spinach dip was great, but don't expect your "ruffles" they serve with it to compliment it or even attempt to dip. A much better option should come with the dip apart from the ruffles that act as "bar peanuts" presented upon seating. Great ambiance, but check about live music before you go if you plan on having a conversation at any moderate level.

It was busy, but we were still seated early, about 20 minutes before our reservation. Great atmosphere in a historic building. The menu had a broad selection, and the food was a cut above the typical saloon or pub. Everything was tasty and well prepared and presented. Definitely worth the visit and we'll go back if we are in the area again.
