McCray's Tavern - Midtown
Only in town for a couple days and popped in for Sunday brunch. Amazing food and great service! Looking to come back next time I’m in town!
Love McCrays! I live in LaGrange Georgia and we frequent before going to the FOX. They are very timely and we have never had a bad dish. I had the southwestern bowl with Salmon the other night and it was delish!! easy parking in deck as well!!
EVERYTHING was OUTSTANDING!!

We reserved a table through OpenTable and the hostess immediately recognized our reservation. Our waitress came to us promptly, offered some spot-on suggestions, and was great. Food was FANTASTIC and came out fairly quickly. We didn't have any brewskies but I'd love to come back for drinks on a busy night as this seems like a pretty fun place.
Great brunch menu and drink specials. Service was fast and restaurant had nice vibe and very clean
Worst service I’ve had since moving to Midtown. A-Z. Food was ok, drink was below par. The restaurant was not busy in any way but it still took almost an hour to get our food.
Great friendly place to go watch a game. Burgers were very good
Great food and good energy. Great location as well.
Walked in and immediately liked the atmosphere. Beautiful bar, cute wooden tables, cool lights. Sat at our table for a few minutes before a server came. She greeted us like she hated her job. We got drinks - cheap and good. We ordered food and for the price - I thought it was decent. I got the shrimp and grits and my boyfriend got the Reuben. He said he was a little disappointed with his meal. I think the place is good for bar food but I was expecting something a little nicer.
We arrived on time and were told they had no tables available despite our reservation.
Went for lunch and it was great! Service was especially good.
My first time having the "Buffalo Chicken" soup and it was fantastic!
The ENTIRE dinner was EXCEPTIONAL! The waiter, chef and manager were great. The food was SPECTACULAR!!
Very good food and good energetic atmosphere. Good mixture of business environment for business meals and also casual meals.
Food wise I loved the place, but service was terrible. Granted it was mother’s day the place was not that packed. We were given two servers one was decent but the other was rude and disrespectful, she did not take in to account our time or our experience at the restaurant. Would definitely go back for the food but if I get the same server I will quickly ask for someone else.
My family and I came expecting Mothers Day brunch. We arrived and it was over. We were given wrong info.
You might consider McCray’s for an everyday meal, but do not visit for a special occasion. We had a 12:30 reservation but were not seated until after 1. The reason we were given was that the earlier crowd arrived late “due to the rain” and that they didn’t feel comfortable kicking people out. I get not kicking people out, but if someone is more than 15 minutes late for their reservation, they should be out of luck. Once we were seated, we went to the buffet. There were no plates. We waited nearly 10 minutes for plates. Mind you, the buffet was the ONLY option this day. Plate supply should not be an issue. Food was so-so and definitely not worth the $30/person being charged. Quality was just not there (e.g., ham so dry it could have been kindling). Drink delivery was slow, but that was NOT on the servers. They were working their rear ends off, but management had not staffed accordingly. Women’s bathroom was out of toilet paper. And my sister said they had to practically beg for the check (I had left by then). Again, maybe fine any other day, but they were woefully underprepared and understaffed for the busiest brunch day of the year.
We had a fantastic time for Mother's Day. It was a completely unplanned trip and a first time visit for all of us. The quality of the food was great. The presentation was great as well. Everyone was in a great mood.
The only downfall of the experience was our waitress. She seemed to be a bit overwhelmed and inattentive. Although out visit wasn't ruined because of her attitude but it was noticed by our entire party.
We will be back and look forward to a great time and experience.
Mother’s Day Brunch
We were blown away by the quality of the food, the variety of food, the flavorful coffee, ambience and overall service. Mother's Day brunch!
I’m so happy we decided to take our mother to McCrays for the Mother’s Day Brunch. My mother enjoyed the food and atmosphere and was pleasantly surprised when she arrived. I’m not sure what she expected but she loved it! The food was delicious and staff frequently checked on our table. They were very kind and friendly. We will be sure to return again.
Beautiful restaurant. Good food, great atmosphere, diverse crowd. We really enjoyed ourselves. Well be back.
You can't go wrong with McCray's Tavern. Location was easily visible from W. Peachtree, parking garage behind the restaurant (they give a voucher to reduce the price).
▪︎Food, drinks and service were all "top notch." I especially LOVED the cajun shrimp & grits and my friend's white egg omelet.
▪︎Food portions where just enough not to be completely stuffed. Don't worry, you won't need a to-go box. ▪︎Food presentation, temperature were great and is reasonably priced. Let's not talk about the bottomless mimosas. Say "goodbye" to your waistline and "hello" to McCray's Tavern. We plan to return soon.
My wife's and my experience at McCray's Tavern was exceptional! We had a nice table receiving the evening cool breeze. Our server, Blair, was personable and very customer friendly. Chef Miguel cooked perfect "Deux Petite Filet Mignon au Poivre" entrees for both of us (at a precise 'medium' temperature). The draft beer was fresh and very reasonably priced. The manager came out and inquired on our meal and we told him that it was OUTSTANDING!!
The place wasn’t very busy so I was a little disappointed with the pace of our foos arriving to us, but we had a great server who was confident in the recommendations she made and attentive without being intrusive. All in all, a pretty cool spot.
In Atlanta for Joan Baez concert. Service was quick and polite. The filet mignon was delicious and tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. Drinks were also delicious.
Had lunch before a show at the Alliance theater which is a short walk away. Our only disappointment is that on a weekend, you can only order from the Brunch menu and not the regular lunch menu. My husband's Reuben was very good with very lean corned beef. I had the fried grouper sandwich, it was excellent. As was the friendly, efficient service.
The "Deux Petite Filet Mignon au Poivre" entree was GREAT!! The filet was cooked a perfect medium and the sauce was excellent!!
Great environment. Bottomless mimosas did it for us. Highly recommend.
Great place to catch a game or a short walk from the Woodruff Arts center if you are catching a show. Was very busy with the NCAA Basketball tournament when we were there so the staff was stretched thin. They did a good job and we enjoyed the food. If we lived near by would be the perfect place for dinner and a ballgame
food good and server did her job. way too loud, love march madness but even servers couldn't hear. Pricy for portion and selection. Flatbread, burger and sandwich almost $50 with no booze
The steak filet with mashed potatoes and wilted greens is an excellent menu choice.
Excellent food and service!
The food took a little longer than normal but it was still great food & ambiance!!
Friends get together
The fillet was EXCELLENT! My wife and I enjoyed the meal. Our server, the bartender Justin, exceeded expectations...
Usually I get great service but not on this visit. Food was great.
Good for friends and groups
