Great food and wine pairing experience. Expensive, but great for a special occasion. Better for more adventurous palates.
I’m not gunna lie, I came to Charleston mainly to eat at husk and McCrady’s because Chef Sean Brock is a culinary hero of mine due to his philosophy with good. I never read the news about him stepping away from them to do his own thing in Nashville. Regardless I was going to eat there because I would assume the people there in the kitchen knew what they were doing and had the same love for southern food. I was 100% correct! Omg wow it was amazing. It was playful, delicious, and not pretentious. I got to tell the chef how amazing the meal was and that I dream to have my restaurant and food be on that level. Keep it up please!
Impeccable service from start to finish! A very unique dining experience, highly recommend the wine pairing. Already planning our next trip!
Amazing experience. My boyfriend and I went there for his birthday and we had a great time.
This place is an absolute scam. If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would. They charged my family of 4 $1300. The first portion was the inside scrapings of someone’s kid’s Halloween pumpkin that they “froze” and served later and the rest of the meal wasn’t any better. We paid extra for the wagyu beef special and that was like paying extra to eat the fat off a prime rib. Oh don’t worry you got two bites of shrimp that were good and the fish soup was ok too but just figure out if that’s worth the cost before showing up. We would absolutely never eat there again.
Great for a special occasion! Tasting menu was great, wine pairings were very nice!
Top restaurant in Charleston. Very inventive tasting menu, with a very laid back setting where the food is the focus and not what designer clothing you are wearing.
We had dinner here to celebrate our 20th anniversary! It was an incredible experience. The whole night was special and the food was amazing. We had a wonderful time and will remember this meal for years to come!
If you want an interesting experience, combinations of ingredients that are unusual, and bit of a food snob, this is a good place. It is an experience of eating, somewhat reserved, tiny portions - I have had tasting menus before, I left this one a bit hungry. Service was wonderful and kind, and clearly they enjoy what they do. The setting is very unusual, and while it is a small crowd, it is not actually conducive to conversation with anyone other than the person right next to you.
It was truly an experience! Dedicated team and beautiful presentation!
Great food, Great staff. Beautiful restaurant. Great experience.
Outstanding meal from start to finish. Great service, high quality and expertly prepared food, stand out was the wagyu beef (additional charge). We will definitely eat here again when visiting Charleston
The staff at McGrady's always delivers - great food, great service and great wine selections on the tasting menu. Fingers cross the formula keeps working given the wide array of dining choices in Charleston. We always visit McGrady's when in Charleston.
Simply an amazing experience... we added the reserve wine pairing. Was a bit pricey but worth it.
All I can say is wow! From the moment you walk into the restaurant you are greeted with a glass of sparkly. You know this is going to be special. Every pairing was delicious pieces of art. The wine was a perfect match. We will most definitely come here again. A night to remember.
This was for a date with my wife of 30 years
Perfect from beginning to end! Each bite and sip was amazing. The staff were all engaging, funny, personable, and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back.
From the moment we stepped off of busy E Bay St into McCrady’s we felt like we were transported to another world. Everything down to the smallest detail was finely tuned and choreographed. The food and the wine pairings were impeccable. I was first blown away by how beautiful the food was, and then I was left speechless by the flavors. Hands down the best dining experience (and it truly is an immersive experience) I’ve ever had.
Unique experience with friendly and personable staff. Look forward to dining again when we visit the city.
World class meal; amazing staff; truly memorable experience!
I found myself cheering the process along as I experienced the magnificent flavours and presentations. I have to say that this is the best overall dining experience of my 54 years on the planet. Also, I must say that this is dining theatre at its best. The staff was very good at storytelling and kept my 12 and 13-year-old daughters engaged and entertained. Thank you for ruining all future dining experiences. HA! We'll look forward to returning one day to have another amazing culinary adventure.
Great special occasion dinner. Food and service were exceptional.
I highly recommend McCrady’s! I have had a lot of amazing meals in my lifetime and this may hold a spot in my top three favorite dinners of all time. Every detail is incredible. The food is outstanding and the service and decor were comfortable and modern. Make reservations early as there are limited number of seats in this cozy restaurant. I will go back again!!!
Great food, unique experience for a special occasion
Unbelievable luxurious experience from start to finish. Ambience and service go above and beyond to make your dinner perfect. We booked our reservation after deciding to elope while on vacation in Charleston. I could not have asked for a more special and exquisite meal to follow our private nuptials. This was our first experience with a large tasting menu and we opted to upgrade the caviar and do their reserve wine pairing. Every single item we were served was absolute perfection and it will be a day and meal I will never forget.
Nothing short of amazing! Comparable to Le Bernardin in NYC if not better.
Our waiter Matty was fabulous. He took care of us the last time we were there and were excited to know he was going to guide us once again.
Such a wonderful experience. All the food was excellent and very unique
Very good food, either fantastic service. For the price, the food could have been more creative and interesting in the protein courses.
Truely unique dining experience. Bring your checkbook but indulge in the incredible reserve wine pairing, foie gras and caviar options. Pricey but a memorable experience.
Food was incredible. wait staff were all professional and friendly; all staff knowledgeable about meals and wine courses. Lastly the cucumber sherbet might have been the best desert I’ve ever had — simple but perfect
Top of the world level dining. Elite.
Definitely a must-have experience in Charleston. Nothing else like it.
A dining experience like this should be considered an investment if even once in a while. You will experience food with few comparisons anywhere. Excellent.
The most sophisticated high end restaurant in Charleston! Thank god they are there!
One of the best meals I have had. Highly recommend for a special occasion.
Great experience from the moment we arrived. The food is a taste extravaganza, meticulously prepared and presented. The staff is warm and friendly. Often Chef tasting formats can me too formal and stuffy for my liking. This was not that at all. The beautiful u shaped bar and rustic exposed brick walls provide a cozy, casual yet sophisticated atmosphere. We'll be back again next time we're in Charleston.
First of all, the food and the wine pairings were fabulous! And the environment/ambience was wonderful, as was the service in its way.
Having said that, the nature of the overall experience was a bit more..."structured" that we expected. Presumably, we could have lingered longer over each course -- which we typically do -- but our experience at McCrady's felt a bit more pressured in a (subtle) way.
Also, we would have loved to enjoy coffee at the end of our evening.
We hadn't been to McCrady's for a few years. After dining in the "new" format space we were not impressed. We decided to give it another try and we are glad that we did. We can't say enough nice things about the staff, their professionalism, and welcoming nature. The food was outstanding. On our previous trip, the chef was more about presentation and flare with his/her designs. Now....it's all about the taste....and it's really good. We were doubly pleased that they were open right after Hurricane Dorian..thanks!
Food had some great high notes. Whimsical wine pairings. Great experience - a must for any epicurean visiting Charleston.
