McCormick & Schmick's Town & Country Village Ratings and Reviews
Made a reservation for 3 (wife, son, me).
Restaurant is nice and clean. However, so disappointed with the service -our waitress wasn’t helpful at all and didn’t care about our necessities as costumers-. Food came and nothing espectacular at all: I ordered “M&S TRIO”, Son got “Alaskan King Crab” and Wife “Fillet & Shrimp with Veggies” poor presentation and lack of quality (except my side of salmon) in most of them.
I’m very positive There are more places around with WAY BETTER service and food QUALITY than M&S. Never going back there!!!
So Guys!!! Please Understand that I’m not complaining about THE PRICE I truly believe that “You get what you pay” after all.
We arrived early; the bartender was very nice and recommended a very good Malbec. The hostess came into the bar and found us when our table was ready (one time per our reservation) which I liked versus a text a buzzer. Our waitress, Chloe, was very pleasant, came to the table often enough but not too often and made a fantastic meal recommendation. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves.
Food wasn’t all what we thought. it was good but honestly not the best.we had the snapper and mahi mahi they both had a rubber texture. the mahi mahi looked amazing but taste wasn’t all there. The tar tar was excellent and desert was great as well as the 12 year McAllen.
Over rated!!! Over priced!!! Have gone to other restaurants just as (supposedly) classy, but had a much better steak offering, much better trimmings (sides). Every time we asked the young lady waiting on us for something, she forgot. After a second request, she would finally fulfill the request with a most humble apology. Don't know if she did not think we were worth her best efforts, or if we were, we would not compensate her proportionately. Never- the-less, we will not return. The wait to spend the $100.00 card , we were given for our 50th wedding anniversary, was wasted time.......... Since my mobility is very challenged, the complimentary valet service was much appreciated.
We arrived a little early and were greeted immediately. Had to wait a little while, but that was expected because we were early. Service was excellent, as usual, but the food was just good at best. We had the lobster bites appetizer, which was excellent. My date had the beef medallions, which were cooked exactly as we ordered them and were very tasty. I ordered the seafood mixed grill. The crab cake was not good. The stuffed shrimp were stuffed with the same ingredients as the crab cake. The grilled shrimp were decent, and the fish was pretty good. We did not order dessert. Overall the meal wasn't bad, but at that price point I expect a little more.
I love to go here for their happy hour and we have enjoyed dinner here as well. We were looking for a good spot for brunch and decided to try their brunch. It's really a great place for brunch, they have a delicious Bananas Foster french toast, and I had an excellent Eggs Benedict. They had several breakfast options and also a good selection of reasonable lunch items. We thought the price was very reasonable and they had Mimosa and Bloody Marys for $3.00 each. We were glad we decided to try their brunch and we will be back again! We also had an excellent server! It won't break the bank to take a group.
The food is terrific, but our service was lacking. The server was very attentive through delivery of the main course, but then disappeared after dropping dessert menus on the table. This is unfortunate because I had the EXACT same experience at this restaurant (different server) in November. The manager came to check on us after I needed to ask the hostess to put in our dessert order AND got water refills for my group from the bar.
This is not the usual experience and I was very sad to have it happen on 2 separate occasions.
Order a 14oz steak. 1. it does not come with potatoes and you do not offer a baked potato. I am a Texan. Beef comes with potatoes! 2. steak was not very good. Lots of fat and gristle. Premium price for a bad piece of meat isn't a good dinning experience. 3. Wife ordered the Chief Special Ahi-tuna. Mashed Wasabi potatoes had to much Wasabi. She is Asian. To salty. I guess it would be ok if I was eating at Chile's (although even their steaks are better) but we expected better at a higher end Restaurant. Will not be back.
I was expecting the 80s / bad hotel quality but sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised.
I chose this location rather than the other at post oak thinking the food would be better... NOT!
We got the most ghetto server ever and clearly she was high as a kite.
She wasn't terrible ( even though she forgot several things... she was just really high).
I usually just play it safe and only go to happy hour but decided to give it one last shot.
The lobster mashed potatoes weren't even room temp and the lobster tasted freezer burned and clearly they used the tasteless crab bisque for the gravy.
The steak was good but stay away from all sides that aren't veggies and anything tuna unless it's on the happy hour menu.
I shouldn't have cancelled my reservation at Brenners on the bayou :(
