McCormick & Schmick's Town & Country Village Ratings and Reviews
The food is terrific, but our service was lacking. The server was very attentive through delivery of the main course, but then disappeared after dropping dessert menus on the table. This is unfortunate because I had the EXACT same experience at this restaurant (different server) in November. The manager came to check on us after I needed to ask the hostess to put in our dessert order AND got water refills for my group from the bar.
This is not the usual experience and I was very sad to have it happen on 2 separate occasions.
Order a 14oz steak. 1. it does not come with potatoes and you do not offer a baked potato. I am a Texan. Beef comes with potatoes! 2. steak was not very good. Lots of fat and gristle. Premium price for a bad piece of meat isn't a good dinning experience. 3. Wife ordered the Chief Special Ahi-tuna. Mashed Wasabi potatoes had to much Wasabi. She is Asian. To salty. I guess it would be ok if I was eating at Chile's (although even their steaks are better) but we expected better at a higher end Restaurant. Will not be back.
I was expecting the 80s / bad hotel quality but sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised.
I chose this location rather than the other at post oak thinking the food would be better... NOT!
We got the most ghetto server ever and clearly she was high as a kite.
She wasn't terrible ( even though she forgot several things... she was just really high).
I usually just play it safe and only go to happy hour but decided to give it one last shot.
The lobster mashed potatoes weren't even room temp and the lobster tasted freezer burned and clearly they used the tasteless crab bisque for the gravy.
The steak was good but stay away from all sides that aren't veggies and anything tuna unless it's on the happy hour menu.
I shouldn't have cancelled my reservation at Brenners on the bayou :(
The food was good but the service was abysmal. We were escorted to our seats given menus and then ignored. Had to ask a waiter to order a bottle of wine, then ignored, had to ask the waiter to bring our wine, then ignored..., and this cycle continued the whole evening. Not good.
Food was decent but they were clearly short staffed and overwhelmed. Not sure why a restaurant would risk their reputation by being open for xmas if they aren’t prepared to handle it. We eat out often and are generally forgiving but there were so many oversights like...
-Having to stare at trays and tables of dirty plates during our whole meal. Servers constantly walking by with a “not my problem” attitude . I finally went to hostess stand complaining that i didn’t want to look at this mess all night.
-had to request bread twice
-champagne delivered without ice bucket
-oysters delivered with no cocktail forks
-never received salads or soup (appetizers)
- had to refill/pour our own champagne
- were told they were out of crab legs 15 min after placing order
- server would totally disappear for 15-20 minutes
Never once saw any kind of floor manager walking through restaurant. Got overall impression that no one truly cared about customer’s experience.
An overall lack of attention to detail. Too bad as this place has food and atmosphere with high potential. Unfortunately nothing can compensate for bad service and sloppiness.
Reviewed the wine list and compared to similar restaurants, the prices seemed way too high. Ordered a bottle of La Crema Chardonnay at $46 and they were out of La Crema. Ordered a bottle of Kendall Jackson at $45. Everyone's entre was disappointing. The food was very bland and over-priced. The crab cakes were mostly filler with very little crabmeat. On the positive side, the ambiance was very nice and our waitress was personable and attentive. Overall, a disappointing evening for my wife and I and our out of town guests.
Would not ever go back to this restaurant!! Food is mediocre, service is very slow..I ignored others customers reviews tried to get my own feel of the place, not satisfied at all. Not to mention my card being ran thru their system 3'xs and instead of admitting fault, I was told I had a card issue. Called my bank in their parking lot and the si called manager I think because we did not even see this man the whole time their until the slow waitress we had gave him our card...anyway he stated I had an issue with my card but found out he rang up wrong amount three times and my card then was blocked due to suspicious activity!! Never again you hv been warned, DO NOT GO HERE!! Food wasn't compensated either nor hv I received a call from a manager or anyone
Food was good, service was a little slow but then it was Christmas Eve and the restaurant was packed. Unfortunately there was a table with extremely loud and misbehaving children close to us. It completely ruined the evening. Looking forward to a nice, quiet Christmas Eve dinner and the evening wasn't what we planned. Plus, why would you seat someone at a table when there were several open booths in the same area? The whole evening was disappointing
I was surprised there was availability. After eating there, I see why. The service was horrible, we were almost completely ignored by our server in every aspect of our dining experience. Water, iced tea, soft drinks went un- refilled, had to ask twice for bread at the beginning of the meal, appetizers took forever and one was completely wrong, all steaks and fish dishes were extremely overcooked. No, we did not send anything back, what would have been the point? By the time we had reached the entrees, we just wanted to get it over with and get out. What a disappointing experience in every way.
The service was extremely slow along with a wait person who had no personality. One order was delivered totally wrong and it took 20 minutes to get a corrected meal. Thank goodness the manager, Chris, stepped up took care of it. In all the years we have been going here, this is the first time there was a major setback. We will see what happens on Christmas when we will be there again.
I hosted a dinner with 7 other team members and the experience was disappointing. It took almost 15 minutes to order drinks and another 10 for them arrive. We rarely saw the waitstaff and felt compelled to try and rush orders cause we weren't sure when help might come back.
