McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Washington DC (K Street)

One of the seafood dishes was too watery. The flavor of the seafood has been washed away by the soup. And the chocolate cake was too firm, just like a very old brownie piece. Overall, the quality of food needs to be improved.
Food was delicious and the service was great.
The food was excellent. I was a little disappointed at times by the service, though. I had to request the Restaurant Week menu, rather than getting it automatically from the hostess when I sat down. And I often had to wait for my water glass to be refilled and for my order to be taken. I don't fault the waiter, who was working very hard--it just seemed that the restaurant may have been a bit understaffed. But overall, I enjoyed my meal.
it was great
All customers were seated in the same section, on top of each other, when the restaurant was basically empty. Not really the romantic ambiance we were going for on our anniversary. The food was good, not amazing, but the service was terrible. They seemed to be understaffed even though the restaurant wasn’t full. We waited for at least 30 minutes for our wine, skipped an appetizer due to the wait and then skipped getting a second glass of wine due to the wait.
We had reservations, and it was not crowded. We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Service was terrible. We did had to ask for straws three times. The server forgot my appetizer and tried to bring it back after we were eating our entree. Even after me stating I didn't want the salad, when he brought the bill to us, it was still on there as well as the seltzer water sprite that was to be removed. I have visited another location in Philadelphia, and it is like night and day. I was extremely disappointed.
This used to be a go-to place where you could depend on excellent food, drinks, & service. We used it as a rendezvous to meet DC visitors. No longer. The shrimp and octopus were like rubber. The lobster bisque had congealed. Beef ordered medium rare arrived well done. Burgers were overcooked, tough, and barely warm with buns that looked like they came from the bottom of the bag. All service was dead slow. It took nearly 2 hours to complete the meal. The drinks were excellent and the prices good for downtown DC but the food and service are so bad that we won't risk taking guests there again.
Reunion of friends. Great service from Horace.
My girlfriend and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary on Saturday, August 3rd. Our waitress, Nicole, seemed as though she didn’t want to serve us/tired/not friendly. My girlfriend ordered a sex on the beach, which did not come out right twice. The bartender had to come to our table and apologize for the mishaps. Also, my girlfriend had the ribeye, which was over cooked, and she couldn’t get the sides she wanted with her meal. Before leaving, I still gave our waitress 20% tip, but for next time, we will chose the McCormick & Schmick in National Harbor or Reston. Thank you.
Exelente lugar y no muy caro
The restaurant was empty, the service was so slow, the food was not as good as it used to be, there was some loud machine noise behind us (maybe coffee machine), our food took so long to come then we had to literally eat very fast so we could make our mtgs. All we orderd was 2 salads and 2 soups, 2 crab cake orders (that were soggy) with fries and green beans and oysters and tar tar. THAT'S IT, all that does not take that almost an hour to prepare.
The ambiance was my favorite part of the dinner, having a secluded section to enjoy my families conversation and laughter. 2 people from the party ordered steak that was both over cooked. The first one that was returned the waitress told the wrong reason why it was sent back, causing confusion with the manager when I wanted to speak about it. Nonetheless we had a good time and enjoyed each other in abundance!
The service was impeccable - AJ was our server and he was amazing. The food was good, but my spinach was a little salty. Other than that, everything was great.
The food was pretty good but it took FOREVER to get our food (we were there for almost 2 hours) and the server kept forgetting what we ordered, first with the drinks and then with our salad orders.
We had a private room presentation rehearsal. Food, facilities, AV equipment, and space all exceeded our expectations and made our rehearsal and subsequent meeting all worth the effort. Great job!!
This famous brand is no more than a franchise cliche. I loved it 10 years ago and prior but this has been handed over to lazy, clueless and obnoxious millennials. Believe me it shows.
The ambiance is gone, food for us was about 3 out of 10. Surely you can do better....take notes from Mortons.
Tonight it took us almost an hour to drive from the Arlington to the restaurant in DC because of the Apollo 50 festival. We were running late. I called the restaurant multiple times. No one answered. We finally arrived. Not a busy night there. There was a young woman at the reception on the phone. I could overhear her conversation. She was chatting away with a friend. No wonder no one answered the phone. She finally rang off and she went to fetch the manager. The manager said it was a quarter to 10:00 and the kitchen was shutting down. I thought the restaurant closed at 11. Was she asking us to leave? I had to ask her 3 times if we could get some food. It was very of putting. Our waiter was very good but the crab was over cooked and watery. Not going back to the DC restaurant.
Wonderful romantic date night with great food. AJ, our waiter, was awesome.
All good except for a manager coming to the table after I paid the check and announcing to all including the couple we were entertaining what gift certificates and rewards certificates had been used
The service was hideous. Slow and inaccurate and the waiter at the bar was borderline surly
I arrived at 12:31 with a 12:30 reservation. I was seated but it took 10 minutes for my order to be taken, another 15 minutes to get a salad and another 15 min to get the months lunch special, soup and crab cake sandwich. The soup, New England Clam Chowder, had too much flour and tasted like paste. The crab cake sandwich was nothing I would want to order again. To top it off, only the french fries were hot.
Because of the quality of the food and the time it took for what was supposed to be a fast lunch, I will not recommend this restaurant
Great service, and outstanding food. We enjoyed the magi-magi and the halibut
Excellent food and service. Convenient location. Enjoyed our evening.
Stated clearly that it was a special occasion, a birthday dinner and requested a booth if it could be accommodated. Reservations made quite a bit in advance. No request/comments, etc were mentioned if accommodated. Service was very slow. Meal was mediocre at best. Very disappointing that we selected the restaurant for such an important milestone, banking that it would be special based on the restaurants reputation. It was not special. At all.
Food was delicious but service was very slow
The food was great until I found a string/hair in my potatoes. The waitress remedied the issue.
Really liked the selection of food. Loved the coconut shrimp and the stuffed shrimp. The waitstaff was great. It was a good place to meet after work.
Had a great time for my Birthday. The entire staff was awesome. I worked with Tavon and I recommend asking to work with him. Great customer service, amazing food....thanks!
Had a great lunch, enjoyed the Shrimp Kisses....shrimp wrapped in bacon stuffed with cheese on a bed of corn salsa....had to fight over the last one!
Atmosphere was great. Hostess polite and seated us right away. The waiter i would guess was nervous he had a few goof ups. Overall is did a great job. Food as always was terrific. Can't go wrong here.
Nice ambiance, great business meeting.
Excellent service and wonderful meal
The food was pretty average and the service so-so... Thankfully, I was given a gift card to use so I did not have to spend much of my own money. Definitely not worth the money and will not likely go back to this restaurant.
We having been going to this Mc and S in the location in DC for many years. It has been a couple of years since our last visit to DC, and there have been a lot of changes at the restaurant in that time. The menu has been reduced. There used to be a big listing of fressh fish at the top--gone. Some of the specialty fish preperations--in particular, the parmesan and almond encrusted fish--now only almond encrusted--not the same at all. It was time for a change in the waiters' dressing. The white coats were from a different era with racial overtones--that was good. The wine we chose--they were out of. We were a little disappointed and with all the competition, we will probably choose another type of restaurant next time. :(
Service was very good. The food met expectations for the price.
Although waiter was friendly, the service was extremely slow. Nearly 45 mins with no drinks since arrived under hot weather. Food on the greasy side, heavy beers and very expensive.
Forgot our salad orders so came out after entrees. They did take off bill though. Ordered a fish dish and measly portion and veggies were not too appealing. m&S can be very erratic in quality and across different locations. Some much better than others.
I would come again and recommend others. Food was very good. I think the lemonade was high at $4.
Thankful for Andrews, our server, attention and wine and meal choice selection. Loved the seared tuna!
