Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. No problem with our reservation and we showed up early and were very accommodating
Server did not articulate well or receive my simple order clearly. The oysters had no taste at all and the fish was overcooked. The total meal and satisfaction was not worth the price of $83.
Sent my son and his date here for pre-homecoming dinner. Great ambience for formal date. Fresh oysters and was told everything they ordered was good. A bit pricey for high school students so the other couple was a bit surprised. We have been there a few times so it was expected. Everything was good for the exception of parking. Wish they offered valet parking. My son ended up getting a ticket. Still unsure as to why. Something about no receipt of meter paid. There was no meter around. Saturday night 7pm.
The food was fantastic....but the service was stretched too thin. Our server had too many tables to contend with so even though she was friendly, she was over-worked. She would deliver things like forks, bread, water, wine etc but not take away the old utensils/bread baskets/ etc almost to the point of being comical....literally got to the point of no room for anything b/c she would not take away used items. Also, she brought out our only ordered appetizers of oysters with our main entrees. The fastest/easiest menu item that requires no cooking and very little kitchen assistance.......meaning you put the oysters on a dish with ice and a small lemon garnish and the kitchen could not time the entrees, right? Most likely, the oysters sat out and she realized it as she was delivering the entrees. When I complained, they took the entrees back to the kitchen but then when they were delivered......they were lukewarm/room temperature....ie a steak, the steamed crab and the shrimp scampi and my bouillabaisse. Also, I went to the restroom at 825 and there was no toilet paper in the ladies room...I shared this info with the server. I went again at 935 and still no toilet paper....totally gross. Finally, as were were enjoying our dessert around 930, the other waitstaff were prepping the other tables for lunch service the next day......so bringing out dishes/glasses/silverware/changing out tablecloths all around us and the other patrons....but they were loud, talkative and created a distraction.....basically not conducive to a nice business casual but $$ restaurant. Fantastic food though...so either needs an effective manager who actually leads/instructs/guides the waitstaff or better yet trains the waitstaff on dining/restaurant etiquette. Also, must clean/visit the bathrooms to stock with the necessities.......especially after being told of the issues.
Everything was great except the service was really slow.
Waiter wasn’t that interested, had an attitude. Get better food for better bake at Martin’s Tavern.
Food was divine and service was outstanding! Waiter was very nice and even took our picture for us!
Long wait for drinks only to find out that the bar was out of one of the required ingredients for its specialty drink, food was average at best - MD crab soup had pink crab meat on the top so sent back(raw??).
Excellent service! Waiter was outstanding!! Would be nice to have more of a beef selection on menu for lunch for those of us who are not seafood lovers.
Overall good experience. The food was delicious although the portions were much smaller than I expected. Also, we had to wait quite a while for our food, especially considering the restaurant was practically empty. And the waiter forgot about our soup orders, which we ultimately canceled. Otherwise, good experience.
The food was amazing and if you want a good steak I would HIGHLY recommend this place. Also when we arrived we had a great time at the bar while we were waiting for our table. The bartenders were nice, energetic and pleasant to be around. The only con I had was that the service was a little slow.
I had a great get-together with a friend who I had not seen in quite a while. The food was outstanding!
From the moment we walked in, everyone was friendly and attentive and lovely. Robert took excellent care of us, making sure to ask if this was a special occasion (Yes! celebrating my Dad's 90th birthday with a trip to DC). Attentive and unobtrusive service, Lobster Bisque that was the most decadent thing I've ever tasted, delicious entrees (filet for him, scallops for me), and a "Happy Birthday" plate with flourless chocolate cake (look in dictionary under 'decadent' and a perfect cheesecake and berries. It was an exceptional dining experience. We were seated away from the (rockin'!) bar at a nice quiet table, which was perfect for us. If there was a sixth star, I'd give it.
Not sure if I would say that you get your money's worth here. The food was good but VERY expensive. Definitely a place to set aside for a special event and not for a large party.
We had dinner while in DC playing tourist. The food was delicious and well prepared. It was a very nice experience.
Food was perfectly prepared and service was outstanding!
Have been there many times and this is the first time we were disappointed. It started with cocktails; the tonic in my vodka/tonic was flat, and they did not have any fresh tonic in the restaurant. My swordfish was very thin and tasteless. My wife's Alaskan King Crab legs had been frozen and did not taste fresh. Will not go back again.
Horrible lunchtime service. More than 20 minutes before we even saw waiter. He took drink order and disappeared for another 20 minutes. I don’t think he brought the right beer. I know my beer and it wasn’t it. He insisted it was correct. 45 minutes before we got bread. 1:15 hour to get food. Not acceptable at lunchtime when restaurant is half empty at 2pm. Lobster/shrimp roll, chowder and fries was very tasty but terrible service ruined experience.
McCormick's is my go to for steak when I don't know the area very well. It's moderately priced and the food quality is almost always excellent. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice meal to end their day.
Outstanding as always.
A convenient location with "snugs" to allow for quiet environment for a group business dinner. Service was ok, but not great. The biggest issue was the food quality and presentation. Food served was basically mediocre; no creative plating to look attractive, and all food was lukewarm. Bottomline, this restaurant used to be much better. Too bad. If you want the quiet snug environment go for it, but don't go for great food quality.
Food was terrible and it came after a very very long wait. Not many customers but still food took very long, Food was not good terrible, The frozen fish was not cooked enough. Management issues. the waiter poor guys they have no clue. another one customer was really upset . Total drama. I read bad reviews but still decided to go as it was close by. I ordered for a white wine and the guy first got me a wine glass that was crazy hot. Whit wine in a warm glass.
Please do not go to this place. I ignored the reviews. My mistake.
You have to remove this hotel from open table.
The food was over cooked. Lobster was rubbery and dry. The pasta was over saturated with wine. The fish and chips were burned. The staff showed up once to take an order and once for main course. Disappeared the rest of the meal until he had to be tracked down for service. For what this place charges per plate I'd say dont go. I was very disappointed and will not be returning.
Consistently good food and service. The crab cake and salmon special are always a favorite of mine. I like it that the noise level is not too high so we can actually hear each other.
Service was awesome and food was delish! I had the salmon, bacon, avocado sandwich. It was divine. My brother had the lobster roll with the soup. and he said it was incredible. M&S never disappoints.
Seafood was very good. Service was excellent. Nice relaxing evening.
Clam chowder was awful. Like paste. Roll and fries were good.
Very poor service. It took a long time to be seated, and even after that point, even longer for a waiter to come to our table. My guest and I ended up prematurely leaving to dine elsewhere.
It was my mom’s birthday day and the nothing stood out to make her feel special.
The food was all delicious from the seafood tower to the ribeye I had and my son had the blackened salmon. The issue we had was I ordered the bone in ribeye and got the center cut. We both ask for a second drink before our main course came out and did not get it till we were done with our meal. We ordered dessert I asked for no ice cream on the side of my apple pie and got ice cream.
Service was slow. Food was ok but we've had better. Somewhat disappointing.
Top class, food excellent, staff excellent, if I had to be critical, small baby crying was a bit off putting so late on a Saturday night
We had a wonderful family dinner with 8 people. We were seated at a fantastic table with a curtain that was spectacular for family time.
Our service was beyond great.
Super good accommodations for business guests and great food and service. Had a good time and brought it in on budget
Several problems getting seated - my guest was taken to one table, I was taken to another - so that we sat apart for more than 30 minutes before we discovered each other. I specifically asked, twice, when I arrived whether my guest had arrived before me and been seated. I was told no but in fact, he was there. Fortunately we connected. Once we did, service was very slow and more than once I had to ask for bread, water, and to order. The manager talked to us and was supposed to have comped the appetizers but I realized after I left that we paid the full prix fixe for restaurant week for appetizer, main meal, and desert. Alas, I like McCormick and Schmick and eat there often but this was a bitter disappointment.
I had experienced Crystal City, Virginia location before. It was fantastic. However, K Street location food was over cooked (burned in some cases). I hate wasting food so I finished it but not something I’m looking forward.
All my team members felt similarly.
We had an overall great experience at MC&S.
This was one of the worst experiences I've had at an establishment in a while. Sat at the bar and was never asked about a drink. Food came out after an hour and came out in pieces. The staff completely forgot and had to involve the manager who was not helpful. Several other patrons were visibly irritated and verbally expressed their distain for the service. Got there at 5:45 and didn't get a drink until 6:30 and didn't start getting food until 6:50. Also, please note that the restaurant was about 20% to capacity and my party included 4 people. We do not plan to patronize this establishment in the future.
Excellent food and service.
I eat here often for business and personal last minute lunch and dinner. Food is always outstanding and service is excellent.
