The food is just so mediocre here. Even the filet was overcooked and tough.
Excellent waiter and food was delicious!! I loved how the waiter was precise and attentive.
Party of 10. White House tour. Ages ranged from 50+ to 6. Had to move the times back twice. Staff did a superb job adjusting.
McCormick and Schmick has always been a restaurant I've enjoyed bringing people to, but I may look for another favorite. It's not up to the cost any more. Lots of filler in the crabcakes, greasy fried fish, undercooked french fries, overcooked, bland salmon. Their little plates are still excellent, as is the hamburger. New addition, Smith Island Cake, is dry and tastes mostly of sugar, not chocolate. Disappointing.
Food was good but the evening was greatly diminished by poor service. The staff was nice enough but things started badly when our party of 6 was seated at a table for 8. The extra settings were never removed. Bad form! Our drinks took almost 40 minutes to arrive. Not good when the group is comprised of people who are meeting for the first time. The light at the end of our booth was burned out so we read our menus using flashlights on our cell phones!! One person in our party had multiple food allergies and gave our waitress a printed list of foods and ingredients to be avoided — among them tomatoes — to help the chef. Her entree arrived with a tomato garnish and had to be sent back. All around, not a class act!
The food was rather disappointing. My fish was very greasy. It Dus not live up to the name.
High quality food and service that you'd expect from a Mc&S. My only issue was we were there between 8-9pm on a Saturday, and there was terrible music just blasting from the bar area. Really kills the ambiance of a fancy restaurant to have 90s hits playing during your meal. Other than that it was perfect though.
Had a great dinner, staff was great. Loved the food.
We walked in to a empty restaurant, that doesn’t always make you comfortable.
We got a nice table, I’m exited how the night started.
It is a celebration of 60 th Birthday for 4 of us.
The Server asked us if we wanted any drinks, one of my guest had a question on a wine and our server didn’t know any thing at all about wines, he then said let me ask someone, he came back saying, the bartender said if you want a sweet wine you should take this one, we were asking about Stag’s Leep Artemis, a very expensive wine. By now I just know it’s going south.
The order part takes place, the food arrives to the table kind late, not because it was busy, late because it had been seating on the hot pass, the steaks were dry and served not medium rare but very well done, they lost the shine on it.
I was the only one to return my rib eye asking for the correct temperature, only because I believe that the customer should alway get what they pay for.
My steak (the new one) took 20 minutes to arrive to the table, when finally arrived I looked at the table and every one had finished eating, not finished the food, he ( the server had started to clear the table)
I refused the steak, the want to be dinning room manager, arrived asking what the problem was, he is not connected with his dinning room, he was surprised when I told him that he cannot run a restaurant with line cooks and severs, his clientele is knowledgeable and to be respected for been able to afford their establishment,
A steakhouse should have experienced waiters and not order takers, he should hire a sommelier and not have his bartender insult his clients.
We would never return or suggest this restaurant to any one. Better food at Long Horn.
Food was good. Service was terrible. We had three waiters and did not know who was who. We waited at least 25 minutes to receive our check to leave. A waiter that did not serve us got our check to pay so we could leave.
Service was very good, seafood assortment excellent
We chose McCormick & Schmick based on our excellent experience in Atlantic City. Unfortunately this DC location fell far short. We had a 7pm reservation but stood for almost 10 minutes in the nearly empty restaurant for a host to appear after we arrived. When he finally arrived, he reaked of marijuana. As we perused the front of the restaurant we saw an employee's duffel bag sitting on the back of the bar. Once seated in our booth, I noticed that the seat was torn and the foam filling exposed. We placed our order with our very courteous server but also heard a loud shrieking cackle of another server joking with her cohorts. As we watched the the couple and gentleman who we're seated already in our area finish their meals and leave, 45 minutes later their tables were still not cleared. Please keep in mind the restaurant was not busy. Our meal and drinks were outstanding, so kudos to the chef and kitchen staff. But we'll stick the the AC location and explore our options when visiting DC next time.
This is a very pleasant restaurant, with a peaceful atmosphere. My meal was quite good, especially the New England Clam Chowder. And the service was great! Congratulations to the management! I would highly recommend it.
Seated quickly, but service very inattentive bordering on neglect in that we had to ask the host where our server was. The appetizer we ordered never arrived. Ordered the tuna medium rare, it came out well done (inedible). As my colleague finished his dinner, I sat forlornly staring at my sad overcooked tuna. Server never came back so had the host track him down. I switched out for another meal that was okay but hastily prepared. The second glass of Sauvignon Blanc I ordered never came.
The portions were decent, as was the food, generally, but the service wasn't what I would have expected. Also, the bathrooms were in bad shape.
Visited Washington DC and this seemed like a reasonable choice for a two-family night out. The McCormick and Schmick's in Boston is great. The DC venue was a slowly unfolding disaster. Left waiting indefinitely for our first server. Continued to wait indefinitely to order, with waiters regularly walking past the table. Twice asked for extra grated cheese for the kids' pasta. When it finally came out, no grated cheese. I found the manager and opened saying they seemed a little busy that night. He said right away that they weren't. When I brought up the kids' grated cheese, he said he'd have to charge me for it. After this same manager said something rude to my friend's wife which I didn't overhear, my friend got up on his own to lecture him. By the end, he did take 25% off our bill, and the food once we got it was good. Nothing would convince us to go within 100 yards of the place again, though. I never make time to write these things. I really should make time to review a good restaurant now...
We had an excellent meal. The food was outstanding in all the courses and our fish main courses -- haddock, mahi mahi, ahi tuna, and rock fish -- were superb. The service was attentive and not at all rushed. When we arrived the noise level was a bit high, but we spotted a table that seemed to be in a quiet area and it worked out fine. As the evening wore on, it got quieter and we had no trouble having a comfortable conversation among the four of us. It's definitely on the pricey side -- mains mostly in the $28-40 range and sides, like sauteed asparagus, at $10 each. Figure upwards of $50/person for a nice meal. Ours was $60, pre-tip, including drinks and two desserts.
Amazing food and service as always but a little loud and never cheap.
Always good food
It was the worst experience I ve ever had in a branded restaurant. Around us there were 5 or 6 tables that finished hours ago without any cleaning. Imagine if the customer facing facilities were like that how was the kitchen and the food preparation.
I asked for a glass of wine with my entree and never arrived...
Shame on the manager. Its a good brand and had a great experience in other cities.
Terrible service. Took forever, 45 minutes to get bread and drinks ordered and they weren’t brought out all at the same time. Suffice it to say, we walked out after the service didn’t get better, but worse, and concluded with the waiter being very confrontational. I recommend avoiding this restaurant in DC. It certainly doesn’t live up to the standard other restaurants in this chain exemplify.
Went to celebrate father's day with my wife and grown children. Had a father's day special menu. Enjoyed the meal, had good service, enjoyed the evening.
This was a Graduation dinner, though this info was provided, nothing special was done. A large party/event overwhelmed the wait staff, everything was slow/disjointed...our 6 people were an afterthought! Food/entrée was good, portions were good, scallop appetizer were totally skimpy. Bill was wrong, several items added that weren't ours, we didn't have desert.
I had a good experience. The restaurant’s popularity keeps it humming which to some extent led to my lower rating. Just an observation.
Last minute change from Party of eight to party of 15 was handled smooth and easy. Very huge difference. Thank you
Overall, we enjoyed our experience but the restaurant had a problem with gnats. I ordered my ribeye medium well plus, and it was very well done , and slightly blackened/burned.
Me and my Husband planned to visit the Washington, DC area for the first time for his birthday. I made reservations at McCormick & Schmick’s for his birthday dinner at 7pm. Since this was our first time we had a hard time with parking and was 35 mins late arriving for our reservation. We explained everything and the hostess was very pleasant about it. He seated us right away. Took our drink orders. Then came and asked was we ready to order. The drinks was very delicious. And the food was really really good. I could never eat all my food but that day I ate every bite. Definitely worth the money. My husband enjoyed his birthday. Actually it was so good I’m thinking about making reservations for Father’s Day:)
Overall, very good. Expected larger portions for the price.
have been to this location for lunch and had much better experiences. Dinner service was slow and disjointed, food was not hot. overall pretty disappointing. not sure I'll even try lunch there again.
Waited 55 minute for Oysters and a cup of soup... the first thing we were told when our server finally showed up was that he is double booked, but will serve us. We never saw him again. Our second server showed up and told us it’s his first night ever as a server.
The service was poor from the time we walked into the door and we could not wait to be done and get out of there. We saw other tables having challenges too. Being served a steak, but no knife, food for half the table, but not the rest.
Overall. Dont waste your money.
The food was excellent (Filets's and Seafood all cooked to perfection). Busy location and many large parties slowed the service some but otherwise all was very good. I would definitely dine at this M&S and any other location again.
That was the worst service ever! We had a special occasion that we were celebrating, a graduation but they ruined for us with the extremely poor service. For example, they were late in bringing us the drinks, the appetizers, the salads, and the entrees which some of them were cold and tasteless. We had to ask for the food several times. Also, some of us started eating and some of us didn’t have their food at the same time. We were extremely disappointed!
Loved the food, loved the wine, loved the service!
I've had better dishes at McCormick & Schmicks. The trout was very oily and heavy. The meal presentation was okay but I would suggest less oil when cooking the fish dish.
Holiday dining the restaurant was very busy the service was slow due to the large number of diners. The food was good and we all enjoyed the meal. It is a lovely place to meet with friends and enjoy a glass of wine while waiting for your entrée. I was a little disappointed do to the fact
that the dessert list didn't include one of the "best bread pudding" in town.
Vi sited restaurant for the free entree offered to veterans on Memorial Day. Were pleased with special menu offered, quality of food, and quick and friendly service. Will return in the future.
My overall experience is that I was pleased and satisfied.
Exceptional service right from entering and being greeted by the host to the assigned wait staff. Meal selection was varied and great. LSC, their corporate offices, are to be commended for their generosity by providing a complimentary meal to Veterans, military retirees, active duty personnel, national guardsman, reserve component personnel and gold star family members. On behalf of all of these groups, I take my hat off to LSC and the myriad of restaurants that make up their corporate headquarters and offices and I give you a well deserved “thank you” for an exceptional job well done!
