Everyone was very helpful from the bartender to the waiter to even the general manager I love this restaurant
Food was amazing! We didn’t wait long at all. However, our food took too long and our waiter barely came to assist us. The ambiance was amazing as well.
Excellent service and food. The wait was lengthy for the food, but it was tasty.
The service was very slow even though there were open tables, moderately busy. The table of 3 next to our table of 2 sat after us, served before us and left before us.
The scallops and the swordfish were both over cooked and dry.
My guest and I were seated at 12:35. Our caesar salads arrived 55 minutes later - that's not a typo. Our entrees arrived 30 minutes later. The restaurant was less than haIf full. Inexcusable. At least the food was good; it just wasn't worth a wait that long.
Overall the food was good. But lobster bisque was cold and to be taken back to heat. Also my shrimp scampi came out cold when it came back it wasn’t much better. Our waiter was great. We felt like the manger should have at taken 10% off.
The service was absolutely horrible! We only saw our waitress once between ordering and dinner. We had to ask for our drinks 30 min after ordering. The food over brought out separately and cold. The need medallions had to be sent back and the second dish was rubbery. Our second drink order was wrong and served after dinner. It was horrible!
This is the second time I went to McCormick & Schmick’s this week - two different locations. Service was awful. Was at the dc location for a business lunch and after an hour of waiting we told our waiter that we had to leave and he said he would get the manager. We waited another 20 minimum for her to come. We eventually got our food to go.
Had the most amazing time here. This was the perfect place for a birthday dinner. Our waiter Horris was also great!
We had asked that the "simply prepared" rockfish costing $30 and salmon costing $29 ($6 below ordinary entree cost) be cooked with "as little oil as possible". If we had placed the fish and vegetables on a piece of Bounty, lots of oil would have oozed out. Unnecessary oil is high in calories and detrimental to heart health.
Turning down the volume of the music would help, particularly at tables more close to the bar which seems to be the loudest area in the restaurant.
A heater in the lobby next to the outer doors of the building could keep the restaurant much warmer.
All servers and restaurant personnel are welcoming to us, pleasant, polite, attentive, courteous and as diverse as the restaurant's patrons.
We used to dine here very often But the quality doesn’t seem the same. The food seems more like restaurant-chain food. It’s fast, a little over seasoned, and doesn’t taste as fresh.
great service and the food is very good i bring my wife here at least once every other month for our date night and we are always happy with the service and the food i would recommend this restaurant to my friends
The wait staff was very good, the food was excellent (always is).
Great food! Excellent staff
We ordered the three-course meal as part of the restaurant week menu. Given that, we expected that the courses would have come out faster than they did. We found ourselves waiting for the next course a lot longer than we are used to. Also, the dessert course was supposed to be a warm peach cobbler but it was lukewarm at best. In fact, it was not warm enough to even melt the ice cream on top. Because we had a late dinner, we unfortunately were there as the kitchen was closing. As a result, we ended our meal with a strong smell of cleaning products. Our main server and the support servers were very nice, however, and we appreciated their warmth and smiles.
I should have known, when it took over 30 minutes for the wait staff to take our drink order, that we were in for a bad meal. The service was terrible. The food was mediocre at best. The entire experience was overpriced and underwhelming. Do not recommend.
Food was great, server was nice, but for a large party (14) we should have had two servers. It was very slow, 3hr dinner.
The food was very good...one of the specials - Ahi with bok choy and wasabi mashed potatoes. Service was attentive and the restaurant is quite attractive to look at. The noise level was a bit more than I would have liked, but tolerable. A pleasant experience, all in all.
Very pleasant, table by the fireplace, great food, top service.
Great service and food but over priced
My grilled octopus appetizer was excellent however salmon that I ordered as a main course was overcooked and dry. The same was true for my partner who had a steak. She asked for medium but it was well done.
Stop pushing the points membership. It’s embarrassing and obnoxious.
It was recommended n referred however I was so disappointed. I was craving for a lobster so bad and they had no lobster tails in the restaurant at all. Then our math potatoes were cold. The cheddar cheese mash were horrific and the filet mignon was overly seasoned with a rub. So, my 1st experience there was not a good one.
Nice restaurant, seemed a little short staffed this night in particular. However, the food was great! The service was good as well.
I had the grilled salmon with seasonal vegetables, which were very tasty. And, the service was attentive.
Paid over $100.00 for dinner for my fiancé and I and a waiter dropped two cups of wine and a bottle which splattered all over my fiancés suite. After bringing it to Managements attention they agreed to take care of the dry cleaning for his suite jacket. When trying to reach them to cover the bill no response to this day.
Will never visit again.
I wanted lobster and I wasn’t told there wouldn’t be any served until I had my heart set 45 mins into our drinks and appetizer. Server was off but the food was still great p
A busboy dropped an entire tray of glassware filled with drinks immediately behind us. Enough to soak my husbands coat. Several tables were impacted by the disturbance both in noise and getting wet from the drop. The manager provided his card in case something was wrong with the jacket but made no other effort towards our dinner to help us with the night. No comp of food, moving of location while clean up happened, no reduction on future visits. I was very disappointed in the way this was handled.
4 of us (2 couples) dined and all thought the food was outstanding. Great ambiance, nice menu selection, food presented well and tasted great. The service and management of the restaurant was horrible. We had bread plates but never received bread. We ordered appetizers which were all very good. Appetizer plates were never cleared. Main course was brought out with appetizer plates in front of us. Water glasses were empty the entire night. Couldn't find waiter to refill water glasses. Dinner plates remainded in front of us as we ordered dessert and asked them to be removed . They weren't removed until dessert arrived. Dessert plates sat in front of us until check arrived. No manager could be found to check on things.
This is a nice restaurant. You would expect good food which it was but not horrible service.
I enjoyed my meal but it would've been better had I not heard profanity coming from the area where the wait staff went behind a curtain. I think the table setup items were there.
Very impressive, wonderful atmosphere, my ribeye steak was tender, delicious & cooked to perfection
The DC restaurant is more appealing to us than National Harbor because of the noise level. DC is serene, NH is boisterous!
The food was great. 10 leaf chopped salad was fantastic, and the portion was large. Clam chowder earned a “great”. Entrees, swordfish with crabmeat and seafood mixed grill, very nicely prepared.
The service was hit or miss. We ordered 1 cocktail, it took 15 minutes to receive it. A glass of wine that was ordered to accompany the chowder arrived after the chowder was finished. When the entrees were served I ordered a glass of Riesling. I was down to my last bite of swordfish when the waitress arrived with the wine. It was obvious that she knew it was late, and contrary to proper service, she was going to leave it on the corner of the table and run!
I told her that I did not want the wine because I was finishing my entrée, and she told me I could keep it, that she would remove it from the bill.
Service was either slow because she had too many tables to wait on or she was new and was not aware that she should have asked for help. The service was not what we have come to expect from this restaurant. Good food, lackluster and slow service.
Awful service—worst of any restaurant we’ve ever been to—nothing like what I remember from this restaurant when it first opened. Very disappointing. Mediocre food.
Saw our entrees sitting in the window for five minutes or so but they were still warm. Tables around us had issues with the bar and getting there food also....just a weird experience that we have never had with this restaurant. Which was why we expected better.
Service was slow, but they provided a free dessert to make up for the wait. The kid menu had good options.
Staff was attentive , food and drinks was everything they described, restaurant layout was very nice, ambient and very little noise. I will be back!
Great food and waiter was very courteous to us as we were discussing business. Overall a great atmosphere.
The tables at the front of the restaurant are nicer then those in the back, by presentation. Known of the candles were lit, in my section and all the tables up front had lit candles. The space I sat in, was cold in temperature in general. Besides the candles not being lit the t.v. was not on, and we weren't asked if we wanted it on. Outside of that, I loved that they could take us on Christmas and that the food was fresh, and prepared well. Our waiter provided exceptional service. And the host staff was very welcoming. However on the downside, because we were the last two individuals in the specific space seated and still eating, tables were being cleared down to the table clothes which means hurry - up and leave, to me. Poor taste in my opinion. Evenings on holidays and special occasions at a restaurant can be memorable. The last thing the staff should be doing is rushing you out. After all the restaurant is open, you either chose to work on a holiday, or had to work to support yourself or family. Be 100% committed to creating a warm environment for every guest, to ensure repeat business and to prevent any negative reviews, because no matter where you go, you never know whose presence your in and the impact it could make on a business.
Tavon was our server and he was very attentive and very welcoming. He recommended one of his favorite dishes on the menu, and I must say the food was superb. Mccormick & Schmicks staff was very welcoming and my reservation was made through Open Table but when I arrived they didn’t have it in their system so the hostess was very helpful and she solved the problem and enjoyed my business meeting .
We were there on Christmas day. We arrived 4 mins before reservation, and waited 15 minutes in a crowd of other people waiting to be seated (I should have recognized at this point that these guys are overwhelmed). They had a special menu which only had non-local farmed seafood (except 1 type of oyster). They also had way more tables to serve than the staff could handle.... long waits for water, drinks, food, talk to a waiter... At prices like these you expect top-notch service. I've been to other M&S' and always experienced amazing service, so I'm pretty sure the terrible service was due to management booking too many tables at one time. Any place that advertises itself as high end seafood should have at least one wild caught seafood.
