McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Washington DC (K Street)
Book your next event with us
Tonight it took us almost an hour to drive from the Arlington to the restaurant in DC because of the Apollo 50 festival. We were running late. I called the restaurant multiple times. No one answered. We finally arrived. Not a busy night there. There was a young woman at the reception on the phone. I could overhear her conversation. She was chatting away with a friend. No wonder no one answered the phone. She finally rang off and she went to fetch the manager. The manager said it was a quarter to 10:00 and the kitchen was shutting down. I thought the restaurant closed at 11. Was she asking us to leave? I had to ask her 3 times if we could get some food. It was very of putting. Our waiter was very good but the crab was over cooked and watery. Not going back to the DC restaurant.
Wonderful romantic date night with great food. AJ, our waiter, was awesome.
All good except for a manager coming to the table after I paid the check and announcing to all including the couple we were entertaining what gift certificates and rewards certificates had been used
The service was hideous. Slow and inaccurate and the waiter at the bar was borderline surly
I arrived at 12:31 with a 12:30 reservation. I was seated but it took 10 minutes for my order to be taken, another 15 minutes to get a salad and another 15 min to get the months lunch special, soup and crab cake sandwich. The soup, New England Clam Chowder, had too much flour and tasted like paste. The crab cake sandwich was nothing I would want to order again. To top it off, only the french fries were hot.
Because of the quality of the food and the time it took for what was supposed to be a fast lunch, I will not recommend this restaurant
Great service, and outstanding food. We enjoyed the magi-magi and the halibut
Excellent food and service. Convenient location. Enjoyed our evening.
Stated clearly that it was a special occasion, a birthday dinner and requested a booth if it could be accommodated. Reservations made quite a bit in advance. No request/comments, etc were mentioned if accommodated. Service was very slow. Meal was mediocre at best. Very disappointing that we selected the restaurant for such an important milestone, banking that it would be special based on the restaurants reputation. It was not special. At all.
Food was delicious but service was very slow
The food was great until I found a string/hair in my potatoes. The waitress remedied the issue.
Really liked the selection of food. Loved the coconut shrimp and the stuffed shrimp. The waitstaff was great. It was a good place to meet after work.
Had a great time for my Birthday. The entire staff was awesome. I worked with Tavon and I recommend asking to work with him. Great customer service, amazing food....thanks!
Had a great lunch, enjoyed the Shrimp Kisses....shrimp wrapped in bacon stuffed with cheese on a bed of corn salsa....had to fight over the last one!
Atmosphere was great. Hostess polite and seated us right away. The waiter i would guess was nervous he had a few goof ups. Overall is did a great job. Food as always was terrific. Can't go wrong here.
Nice ambiance, great business meeting.
Excellent service and wonderful meal
The food was pretty average and the service so-so... Thankfully, I was given a gift card to use so I did not have to spend much of my own money. Definitely not worth the money and will not likely go back to this restaurant.
We having been going to this Mc and S in the location in DC for many years. It has been a couple of years since our last visit to DC, and there have been a lot of changes at the restaurant in that time. The menu has been reduced. There used to be a big listing of fressh fish at the top--gone. Some of the specialty fish preperations--in particular, the parmesan and almond encrusted fish--now only almond encrusted--not the same at all. It was time for a change in the waiters' dressing. The white coats were from a different era with racial overtones--that was good. The wine we chose--they were out of. We were a little disappointed and with all the competition, we will probably choose another type of restaurant next time. :(
Service was very good. The food met expectations for the price.
Although waiter was friendly, the service was extremely slow. Nearly 45 mins with no drinks since arrived under hot weather. Food on the greasy side, heavy beers and very expensive.
Forgot our salad orders so came out after entrees. They did take off bill though. Ordered a fish dish and measly portion and veggies were not too appealing. m&S can be very erratic in quality and across different locations. Some much better than others.
Thankful for Andrews, our server, attention and wine and meal choice selection. Loved the seared tuna!
I would come again and recommend others. Food was very good. I think the lemonade was high at $4.
We were there for Sunday dinner on 6/25. It was very easy to find parking and it is free for street parking. The place is beautiful and clean. However the service was very poor. It took a long time for the appetizers to come out. And then we had to wait for a long time for the main course to come out too. And when the food arrived, it was not hot. Also the food was too salty and greasy. At the end we waited a long time again, and we had to find the waiter to get the check.
Dinner and appetizer about 2 minutes apart. It's a dressed up Red Lobster.
One of our favorite restaurants in Washington DC and Philadelphia.
This was a casual yet upscale restaurant. I had a variety plate that had several different shrimp, a crab cake and a filet. My wife had a plate w/medallions cooked well done yet still juice. (This is virtually impossible to pull off)
Our server AJ was great. He was able to chat w/us, provide great service while also serving two large parties.
We didn’t even realize that 2 hrs had passed.
The food, drinks and desert were wonderful. Great server and a lovely atmosphere. You’ll pay a bit more for all of this but for a special occasion it’s worth it.
We are from out of town so I can’t tell you if I had a great crab cake but I’m well versed is shrimp and steak and both were spot on.
You did a good job of accommodating 10 persons and a little child and adjusting arrangements quickly when the original room was deemed to be too tight.
The stuffed salmon was seasoned perfectly w/ mashed potatoes and string beans. The chardonnay was complimentary w/ the meal. Delicious!
The food was phenomenal. But our server was mostly absent. She didn’t come to ask how our meal was. After serving the food, the next time we saw her was to pick up our plates, when I asked for a cappuccino.
By the time I got the cappuccino, it was cold. Same with the bill. Took a long time.
I will likely go back for the food, but I will explain up front that we are in a hurry, even if we’re not, in order to get out in a reasonable time.
As always, the food was wonderful and the service was particularly good. Trene, the server, and Abdel, the Manager, were absolute stars! Will be returning at least once a week for lunch!
Food great. Tiffany was a wonderful server!
Delicious! Our waiter was amazing! Food was fantastic!
Solid service and food. The waitor was on point. Just didn't like being so close to people being loud at the bar. However, would definitely go again.
Background music was too loud.
We splurged and went to M&S for Father’s Day. For the value of price paid, it should be great! It was. The entire staff was just lovely - from hostess, our server to other servers nearby. Steaks cooked just as we ordered. Sides yummy. Dolce sangria cocktail was terrific. Desserts were very reasonably priced! So happy to see this in a town where $12-13 desserts are becoming the norm!
No valet parking, which I thought odd but we got a spot in front of the restaurant! Overall, it was a lovely evening!
Waiters seem to be nervous
Food was great and staff was very friendly.
Crab legs were cut and easy to eat with minimal mess and delicious flavor.
We have been frequent guests at McCormick & Schmick’s in both Baltimore and Bethesda. We’ve hosted a reception for over 150 guests. In those venues we were extremely pleased with the food, service and attention to detail.
Our experience tonight at 1650 K Street was absolutely HORRIBLE!
It took over an hour to receive our wine order and well over an hour and a half before our Entrees arrived. When the Entrees arrived, they were not hot. In fact my wife’s entree was barely warm. I was supposed to have had an entree with linguini but ended up with over cooked spaghetti.
There were multiple apologies and efforts to correct an absolutely horrible evening to no avail.
“Jack” who was our server had to be repeatedly asked to refill our water glasses.
When I asked for a Business Card for the evening “Manager” he deferred and instead provided me with Abdel Abaezzahra’s (the General Manager) Business Card.
McCormick & Schmick’s is capable of providing much better food and service from what we experienced tonight.
Additionally, there was no toilet paper in two of the three women’s stalls.
