McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Washington DC (K Street)

Use of the Boardroom private room was excellent way to have a meeting , followed by a great dinner.
McCormick & Schmick's is always very good food and service for lunch and dinner. One should also try their Happy Hour daily with very good prices on food and drink. I've been dining here for many years and continue to return and enjoy.
The server was attentive. Our appetizer came out in a reasonable amount of time and was delicious. However, our entrées took a very long time and were delivered by what we assumed was an assistant manager, who then awkwardly came back and asked how everything was only a few moments after we got our dinner. The meals seemed as if they were under a warming light for awhile as my steak was cooked too well done.
Always great food and oustanding service.
The lunch entree menu offerings are too few and not diverse (fried fish, shrimp and crab) as compared to previous visits. I should have looked harder at the non entrees. The side salads were really very small. The lobster bisque was good (lots of lobster). The location, interior and service was good.
For New Year’s Eve, the place was surprisingly not busy. We should’ve known why. My steak that I ordered medium came out well done. The server would disappear for half an hour at a time so we couldn’t even complain. She literally never asked how her food was. The dining rooms were OK, I guess, but having ads for the restaurant you’re sitting in running on the TV beside you while you ate was really obnoxious, especially considering you couldn’t order half of the stuff that they were showing on the TV. We really only went there because they have a seafood platter on the menu online, and then I New Year’s Eve they had no specials, and didn’t have the seafood platter.
My date and I went to the K Street / Washington DC M&S Seafood restaurant and found it wanting. Definitely overrated for their seafood but perhaps their meat entre is better. The restaurant was only 1/3 full and yet the food was just warm . . . to my mind they do not specialize in food preparation. Will not return to this specific restaurant but will try M&S Crystal City restaurant. Bottom line when I spend over $130 for a seafood dinners I expected more (they don't even validate parking - why not ???)
While our waiter was AMAZING, our many steaks (3) were RARE vs our requested Medium. One steak was RARE when returning a 2x. That is unacceptable for an establishment that clearly represents itself as a Steak Fine Dining restaurant. The manager was extremely apologetic and accountable. He comped one meal and gave free desserts. I am hoping the chef receives a thermometer at best. Our commute was an hour each way for this New Years Eve meal, and disappointing to say the least.
Fantastic seafood dinner! Waitress attentive during our meal. Slight mix up with our final bill but overall a great dining experience.
Dry steak and server did not want to be there.
Just ok. The restaurant was empty so I did not expect the service to be bad. Our waiter was a little absent minded but besides that it wasn’t bad. I had the stuffed shrimp. It could have been better and less breaded but again it was edible. The lobster bisque soup is delicious.
This was my first and probably my last visit to this restaurant. I expected the service to be much better based on the fact that it has a well-established name but it was far from it. Everything including the food was very mediocre and disappointing (out of spinach at 6:30 pm; no bread at first but miraculously, some underbaked bread arrived at the end of the meal and the wait times for a drink and cutlery to eat the main course that was already served was unacceptable). I should not have to ask for something so basic and obvious as cutlery.
I don't like to give negative reviews but this McCormick and Schmidt certainly does not deserve a good review from my and my friends' experience.
It was Christmas and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here
Our server Nick was wonderful, she anticipated our needs and responded with promptness and efficiency
She was familiar with the menu and responded to our questions in detail. A great asset to the restaurant.
We were bothered the whole time asking us to sign up to some credit card like when you go to Pocnos or a resort
My dessert suppose to have been apple pie with walnuts I ask them to wrap it up to take home it was just a large piece of cold pie it was horrible
My food was like luke warm I will never go there again .
They wanted us to buy expensive drinks and kept begging , thanks for ruining my Xmas dinner
More than what I was expecting, EXCELLENT SERVICE, everything perfect!
The food was great! If the service had matched the food, the entire experience would have been great. Slow to bring drinks and take the order. Lots of “I’ll be back” promises in a pretty empty restaurant. We will go back but they really need to do better for the value.
Service was poor. 3 of the 4 steaks were cooked correctly ( not all was bad). Strip steak was thin and over cooked. Not what I would have expected at M&S. Maybe because it was a Sunday night.
I went to this restaurant with a business colleague for a last minute holiday lunch. The restaurant was quite busy, but we were promptly seated. Our server, Kevin, was professional and attentive. We treated ourselves to delicious margaritas and then were served the main course. I had fish and chips. It's a favorite dish that I eat less in recent years as I try to eat healthier. What a treat! This dish was the best version I have ever had. Plentiful without being over-breaded, almost like a fried wrap but much better. The fish was fresh and tasted, as was its wrap. The fries were warm and tasty, and the presentation for such a simple dish was well-above average. My colleague had a tuna dish and loved it. We both like the basket of warm bread, as well. Neither of us is a dessert person. Altogether, this was a wonderful holiday celebration of friendship, good food, and a great atmosphere for any business lunch.
Awful menu, not everything we ordered was available, poor service.
I selected M we were seated at 12:20pm and shortly after our drink order was taken, but it took a really long time to get our drinks, salads and our meals.
Just ok. The food was fair and the menu could have more choices. Not a good value. Very overpriced. They used to be very good before they were bought by Landrys
We went for their Thanksgiving dinner special; it was fairly traditional (though reasonably well-prepared) and tasty, plus a good value, especially compared to what many other restaurants were asking for their Thanksgiving specials. We will go again.
Pretty good. A little over priced, but overall, nice.
Four family members ate seafood dinners rather than the traditional Thanksgiving turkey etc. Cobia, sea bass, salmon and stuffed salmon-- all were very tasty and well presented. Maryland crab soup cup was delicious. Salads were generous portions as were the fish. Smith Island cake was terrific, vanilla bean and cinnamon ice creams were very good, and the upside down apple pie and ice cream went fast. The restaurant was crowded because of the holiday, it was pleasantly warm and we could hear each other talk with no problems. Server was kind and attentive.
Service was extremely slow, didn't see our waitress for long periods of time. But it was Thanksgiving night so not sure if that is usual or just understaffed that night.
I don't like the traditional Thanksgiving foods. The lobster tails and crab mash potatoes were amazing! My friend had the salmon that was exceptional. Ambiance and service great! K St has become my fave loc.
My uncle and I enjoyed Thanksgiving at the K Street NW location. Our waiter (sorry I do not recall his name) was excellent at making us feel at home.
Three of us had Thanksgiving at M&S. First, the walnut salad was very, very good and a very healthy portion. One had the Thanksgiving meal. The plate was full of good food. The turkey - and there was a lot of it - was nicely moist. The apple/squash side was very good. The only complaint is there was no gravy on the potatoes. Two of us had the Chef's recommendation, a salmon dish. I don't order salmon often, but I'd go back for this. Same for the other person.
Everybody’s food was excellent & the service was too. Kudos & no complaints
Have never had a bad meal at any McCormick & Schmick’s.
The food was phenomenal, herb bass was fantastic. Twin lobster tails also were to die for. The staff was enthusiastic and inviting. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We will surely be back!
Delicious food! Relaxing atmosphere. Awesome experience!!
Best meal we had on our 4 day get away. We will return as we return to DC and search for others when we travel
Quality and quantity of dinner was not satisfactory to me.
Wait staff was very nice
Wonderful experience. Food and service were outstanding!
Good food, price, and customer service. Great place for lunch - small and large groups.
Our AJ was very helpful and pleasant and made our dinner even better. The table we were seated was quite and more private which made our business conversation easier. I would go this restaurant again.
I definitely would return to try to cook deedp salmon
