The restaurant looks old and dated and needs new furniture. The staff seemed less than enthused and certainly did not add to the experience. This location is a hard pass.
What a beautiful dining experience. Celebrated my birthday and was happy we found this gem!
Great food and awesome service.
It was a great experience. The food tasted amazing. We have had the same dishes elsewhere but the taste here was well above par. Awesome ambience !!!
Went for happy hour. Prices were good and we enjoyed the food (grilled tuna, calamari, mussels, hamburger and fish taco) with cocktails.
The food was amazing, we understood that they were short staffed, but we were not in a rush so everything was wonderful, the only thing that took more time than hoped was our drinks. Who could go wrong with the lobster bisque-Amazing! The lobster was wonderful and perfectly cooked. The chocolate bag-superb-definitely will order that again. This restaurant is in a great location as well.
Fabulous! Service and food were all fantastic. The team even went out of their way to look everywhere the next day for a little stuffed animal my son had left behind. No luck on the stuffed animal, but lots of luck with a great, private spot for a fabulous meal.
Had a great time on Christmas Day. Was a last minute decision. Staff was on point and the food was delicious. Definitely would go back.
Great Location next to McPherson Square. Convenient to the Red Line and the Orange/Blue/Silver Lines. They decorated for the holidays. I had the salmon on walnut/greens salad. It was perfect.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Washington, DC. Loved the ambiance. We were seated in front of the fireplace; very cozy. The food there is always great and no matter what I order I am very seldom disappointed with my meal! Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return. It comes highly recommended.
Service was over the top great (It was 5:15 though). Our waiter was outstanding. All food was terrific except one entree. The scallops linguine. It is a nice serving of scallops but a little rubbery and no sear on them for flavor. They didn’t have a lot of taste and were on linguine just swimming in olive oil. So much that it spattered on my sweater. That was the only flavor. Bland scallops, bland pasta with just olive oil, pine nuts and a little garnish. I would definitely go again and would just order something else.
Salmon was over cooked. String beans were to greasy. Mashed potatoes were to runny.
Delicious food; prices notably higher, likely due to COVID and supply chain issues. Although the service was good, needed to remind servers of drink and food orders. Unfortunately, didn’t get correct the first time.
Our dinner was on the cusp on holiday parties, but we were seated right away; our server (AJ) was attentive, even though he had several other large parties. I got the13 oz ribeye that was done perfectly; my dinner mate had the sirloin - also done just right. Would have preferred a dinner salad, but it was not a menu item. Hot rolls, plenty of water, and a delicious cheesecake dessert. With a glass of wine, between the 2 of us, the meal was $120. Excellent food, service, and ambiance. I was especially surprised how the sound was dampened, even with holiday party merriment!
Service was superb; polite, and friendly!Great location and atmosphere! Needs a new Chef: 1-Small portions: Pork chop ;Although tender and juicy for the size: should have had two! What killed the dinner was The horrible Rockfish entree surprisingly, small little over-cooked rubbery portions and it tasted old (more like cat fish) .
Unless a new and improved Chef arrives I will
Very good but steak was undercooked.
Excellent food! I’m not a foodie but I really enjoyed my Rockfish. My wife’s scallops were excellent too! I hope you get AJ to wait on you. Great service! Great personality!
Definitely not as good as last week. The chowder was sweet for some reason, the calamari wasn't crisp and our server (bar area tables) got missing in action and never asked us about our food until we asked for the check. We went back so soon because we had a gift card, but won't be going back anytime in the future.
While the food was delicious the service was awful. To start the white table cloth was filthy. The water glass was also dirty and when they bought out my Arnold Palmer that cup had someone else’s lipstick on it.
There also appeared to only be one waitress handling the entire lunch rush so needless to say she was not attentive nor quick.
This McCormack and Schmicks is a shell of it’s pre-pandemic self and I don’t see myself spending $100 on lunch at such a physically gross place.
Actually quite surprised with how very good the food tasted and the level of service at the bar. Had the traditional Fish & Chips and it was perfect. Bartender service could not have been better. And, overall ambiance of this M&S, much better than many we have visited.
We had a wonderful dinner at McCormick & Schmick's Seafood. All of the food was out of this world delicious. Special kudos to the chef for the Baked Scallop Gratin appetizer and the Chef's Specialty, Cioppino. Delicious, delicious, delicious! In addition, our waiter was friendly, but professional. Highly recommended.
For Thanksgiving this year we went here. This place is supposed to be top notch. My turkey dinner was meh, mashed potatoes were a bit bland, and I didn’t even get cranberry sauce. My wife ordered the ahí tuna with sticky rice, and the rice was not cooked properly, it was a bit hard! She only ate about a third of it. Thankfully we had both the raw and cooked oisters as appetizers and that saved the night.
We arrived for our 12pm reservation with only one table occupied. We were taken to sit in the bar on one of the high bar tables. We asked to be seated at a table. Since we had a reservation, not sure their reasoning in trying to put us in the bar. Our group all ordered the turkey meal. My husband loved his salad and the bisque was good. The turkey was moist and tender. Everything else was bland, needed more seasoning than salt & pepper.
The restaurant was lovely inside. We were sat at a very nice table near the front windows and the fireplace and I was very comfortable. Our drinks and our meals were delicious. The staff was very pleasant.
Great all around
Probably will look for other options in the future.
The food was good though felt too much oil & butter on the menu i ordered. Thanks for allowing me to provide feedback. -Eddie
This was the first Veterans’s day meal service where we had to pay half price (previous meals were complimentary) The half price menu was too limited and did not include enough non seafood meal choices. The waiter service was very limited and took too long to order . I understand that the pandemic may have something to do with the service and food portions. But I still appreciate this restaurant solute to Veterans always.
I was taken aback as a Veteran when we were charged for our meal. We were supposedly saluted and that salute (I thought) included a free meal. We three (my wife, friend and I) have a combined 55 years of military service. My wife served in the first Gulf War, my friend served in Turkey and I served in Somalia and the Iraq War.
We celebrated Veterans Day. It was nice and we will return.
Everything was perfecto! Will always go back to McCormick and Schmidt s
Very nice. The service was excellent. The food was superb. The location and ambience are top-notch.
El servicio es el peor que tenido
El mesero materialmente nos corrio llevando la cuenta sin ofrecer café o postre
Muy mal servicio
La comida deliciosa
Very friendly server. Food was excellent but the bar service was a little slow. Clam chowder was delicious but should have had oyster crackers instead of saltine crackers. Salmon was cooked perfectly and thoroughly enjoyable. Tuna was excellent but not a fan of the Oysters Rockefeller.
AJ was our waiter. He was wonderful! He was helpful and polite and gave us great service. The food was delicious. We enjoyed every bite.
Everything was ok, not superb as it was a year ago. The food was ok, not great; service was on point, not excellent or outstanding, the ambience was almost depressing.
The food wasn't bad -- but not as good as pre-Covid. The person seating us tried to seat us at a 4-top (high bar stools) in the bar for lunch. NOBODY was at the restaurant -- but we had to ask to be seated at a comfortable table. If we hadn't had a reservation and it was crowded, I would have understood. But this was crazy.
Salmon and cobra was very good
Your staff were very friendly and professional. I will return.
Teach your bartender to make proper old fashioned’s. It’s a classic. You can’t mess that up. Should be served with block ice, not crushed. Orange peel, not orange wedge.
