Still a very nice fish restaurant, but I haven't found anything to compare with the parmesan-crusted flounder and the shrimp caesar (baby shrimp) that they served for years -- but no longer. Happy that they now have appetizer options for people allergic to shellfish.
It was great? We were seated quickly. We have a server come quickly. The food was excellent. Everyone was so nice.
Food was not worth the price. King Crab legs overcooked and dry. Potatoes were tough. Shrimps looked like popcorn. I would not recommend the seafood.
I would recommend McCormick & Schmick's, but I would not recommend any steak. I was there on 3/16/2019 and ordered a 8oz surf and turf. I was looking forward to a quality meal from this company. The lobster tails were good, but the steak was waaay over cooked. I ordered medium rare and received it well done. Not sure how that mistake is made, but that is what I got. I was underwhelmed by the experience.
I had dinner here to celebrate my 40th birthday with 7 of my dear friends and it was amazing. The food was delicious. Our server was attentive. The manager came over to check on us and give me a birthday dessert. Did I mention how delicious the food was?
The best seafood I tried in DC these days! Excellent oyster and deserts.
Server was great w/lots of personality BUT unfortunately we were both disappointed w/our food. It came warm not hot, my salmon had absolutely no flavor, my husbands stuffed shrimp on his ultimate platter was dry. Dessert was the bread pudding, it made up for the food shortcomings, it was simply delicious. Right after we left, we both said, we wouldn't visit again. Our experience at another location in National Harbor was much better. Not worth the pricey price...sorry!
This is a K Street expense account restaurant with extremely overpriced less than average quality food. Companion and I both had fish entrees - the fish was accurately cooked to order, but sides were not hot or even warm. Fries were straight from a frozen bag. M&S may have provided a quality dining experience at some point in the past but the excellent and less pricey options in the neighborhood and area.now overshadow it completely. Drinks seem to be a big part of what is being sold. Desserts appear to be revived from frozen or packaged. Staff are friendly and competent but deserve to serve a better product for their talents. Again, for these prices, why not dine where you get value for the money spent? Sorry, cannot recommend at all.
I went for a late lunch to celebrate a colleagues birthday. It was very quiet at the 2 PM hour. The food and service was superb. I have to note that the bartender, Ida, did an excellent job handcrafting our cosmopolitan. I would return just for one of her drinks! Thanks Ida!
Our reservation was for 7:00pm. We had to ask for water. We had to ask for bread. We had to ask 3 times for straws. We finally had to ask for our entrees at 8:30! My filet when it arrived finally at around 8:45p was cold and dry to the point of making me cough when I tried to taste it. I was highly disappointed in the service and I will never return to this particular location.
The food was amazing and server very attentive. The manager on duty came over twice to check on us and made dessert recommendations. We would return without hesitation.
Great service and food. Recommend it for happy hour as well.
I often have business lunches and dinners here due to the proximity to my office, the quality of the food and service, and the ambience. McCormick & Schmick is a very good restaurant with prices that match the quality well. I haven't been disappointed here yet and I've had at least 20 business meals here in the last year.
Service was horrible. It took 22 min from the time we sat down to just have a server come to the table to say “hi”...then we waited another 10 min before we got some water and bread. This was all after waiting 30 min beyond our reservation time. The manager acknowledged our frustration but did nothing for us. Needless to say we will not be going back.
A very good dining experience. Service was great. Food was very good as expected.
Congratulations to ballerina dancing the lead at the Kennedy Center
Superb!! from the time we walked in, to the serving and presentation of food. We had a disabled member of the family who needed assistance, and they were right on it, including his birthday expressions.
The food was the BEST I've had in the DC area in two years.
This is my new lunch and dinner suggestion to friends, colleagues and family.
Lighting is too dark in some areas
My mom came from Michigan. We had great conversation and food. Thank you for making our night special.
Overall it was good. Had difficulty hearing and understanding the waiter. He talked too fast and didn’t project. Food excellent.
I was surprised that a better table was not reserved for us since I stated in the reservation that it was my husbands birthday. At first we were seated near the kitchen in a huge table. When I asked to be moved I noticed there were two tables for 2 by the fireplace! A single man had beat us to one of them by just a moment. Shortly afterward another single took the table right next to the fireplace! The waiter was super quiet and I could hardly hear him.. noticed the table next to us had the same problem. He was not informed that it was my husbands birthday and at that point I was ready to leave anyway.
Went to the restaurant for lunch because my friend said it is easy to get in and out quickly. Despite my prior visit to the restaurant being bad, I agreed to go. Began catching up with my friend, and after noticing that a table that had been seated after we arrived had already received food, we got the attention of a nearby waiter. The waiter gave us water and a promise that our waiter would arrive soon. Waited a few more minutes and then went to the hostess to inquire about our waiter. Finally the waiter showed up, but by then we had been seated for 35 minutes in a restaurant that was virtually empty so the mood was soured. The food was mediocre at best. I will not be going back.
The food and service was excellent! We will definitely be back.
The food and service were excellent. I will definitely return.
Everyone was very helpful from the bartender to the waiter to even the general manager I love this restaurant
Always fantastic food from Portland to D.C. and many other cities. AJ and the Floor Manager that evening gave me outstanding service. I really appreciated the fresh warm bread and the birthday dessert as a club card holder. The ambiance was nice. Only thing a little surprising was the couple next to me on their phone with the flashlight feature on and speaker talking on video chat the entire time. Wow. Just wow. Unbelievable how these young people had no manners. Makes everyone else's dinner experience a little less enjoyable.
Took 2 hours to get food and the wrong items came out. Also I had lobster shell in my mashed potatoes
Food was amazing! We didn’t wait long at all. However, our food took too long and our waiter barely came to assist us. The ambiance was amazing as well.
Excellent service and food. The wait was lengthy for the food, but it was tasty.
The service was very slow even though there were open tables, moderately busy. The table of 3 next to our table of 2 sat after us, served before us and left before us.
The scallops and the swordfish were both over cooked and dry.
My guest and I were seated at 12:35. Our caesar salads arrived 55 minutes later - that's not a typo. Our entrees arrived 30 minutes later. The restaurant was less than haIf full. Inexcusable. At least the food was good; it just wasn't worth a wait that long.
Overall the food was good. But lobster bisque was cold and to be taken back to heat. Also my shrimp scampi came out cold when it came back it wasn’t much better. Our waiter was great. We felt like the manger should have at taken 10% off.
The service was absolutely horrible! We only saw our waitress once between ordering and dinner. We had to ask for our drinks 30 min after ordering. The food over brought out separately and cold. The need medallions had to be sent back and the second dish was rubbery. Our second drink order was wrong and served after dinner. It was horrible!
This is the second time I went to McCormick & Schmick’s this week - two different locations. Service was awful. Was at the dc location for a business lunch and after an hour of waiting we told our waiter that we had to leave and he said he would get the manager. We waited another 20 minimum for her to come. We eventually got our food to go.
Had the most amazing time here. This was the perfect place for a birthday dinner. Our waiter Horris was also great!
We had asked that the "simply prepared" rockfish costing $30 and salmon costing $29 ($6 below ordinary entree cost) be cooked with "as little oil as possible". If we had placed the fish and vegetables on a piece of Bounty, lots of oil would have oozed out. Unnecessary oil is high in calories and detrimental to heart health.
Turning down the volume of the music would help, particularly at tables more close to the bar which seems to be the loudest area in the restaurant.
A heater in the lobby next to the outer doors of the building could keep the restaurant much warmer.
All servers and restaurant personnel are welcoming to us, pleasant, polite, attentive, courteous and as diverse as the restaurant's patrons.
We used to dine here very often But the quality doesn’t seem the same. The food seems more like restaurant-chain food. It’s fast, a little over seasoned, and doesn’t taste as fresh.
great service and the food is very good i bring my wife here at least once every other month for our date night and we are always happy with the service and the food i would recommend this restaurant to my friends
The wait staff was very good, the food was excellent (always is).
Great food! Excellent staff
