McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Virginia Beach Ratings and Reviews
My girlfriend and I decided to go out to a nice place to eat for New Years Eve and we were not at all let down by McCormick & Schmick’s. We made reservations and requested a booth and the staff was able to fulfill that request which really enhanced the experience. Our server was amazing, making sure that everything we had was fresh and cooked to satisfaction! The steak was great and the chicken was awesome! Overall it was a great dinner to bring in the New Year, we will definitely be coming back to this place!
Visited on New Years Eve. Had a reservation so only had time to order drinks at the bar and was seated. Waitress was very friendly. Ordered the she crab soup which was excellent. Party had stuffed shrimp, salmon, trout. All fish was done very well. The highlight of the evening was the chocolate bag dessert. Very decadent and enough for 3 to share. Overall, a very nice dinner with family.
The food, atmosphere and martinis were all awesome. Our waiter, P-Town Shawn was the bomb. He made sure our every need & want was satisfied. We will definitely ask for him during our next visit.
Your traditional personalized menu is still a very much appreciated nice touch.
One suggestion though, this is the first raw bar experience I had were the oysters on a half shell were served still attached to the shell. Wouldn't have been an issue had we had something other than a butter knife or they were cut from the stem before serving.
An overall outstanding experience that was the highlight of our 35th anniversary. Thank You
The cod was very bland and had no seasoning. My brother in law loved it however. my wife's seared scallops where all different sizes. The fresh bread came in the middle of our entrees. We were expecting it just before our appetizers. The crab dip and She crab soup were both excellent.
We get to McCormick & Schmick maybe 3-4 times a year, and have always enjoyed the food. This time, my wife had the Ahi Tuna which was very good (she gave me a "small" bite). The Wasabi Mashers were quite good and not too spicy. The Bok Choy was also good. I had the Swordfish Casino - very tasty but a little heavy on the Baby Spinach.
The downside was the service this time. It started well, but as the dining room began to fill it became clear that our server was "overbooked." Her laser-like focus enabled her to move about the dining room without making eye contact with many of the tables. The last bit was with my dessert, Creme Brulee and Espresso. The Espresso arrived very late, just as I finished my dessert, in spite of several attempts to get her attention. I suppose I could have shouted or whistled. Her only comment was "Sorry, I forget your espresso".
Amazing! The best filet I have ever eaten! My daughter had the stuffed shrimp and she said it was divine and my husband got the trio plus crabcake and some apps (he's a big eater). Everything we sampled from each other's plate was better than the bite prior. We waited about an hour for our food, our waitresses were very attentive with our drinks, conversation and information regarding our meals. They came back about 30 minutes later and informed me that the steak I had ordered was out and they would switch out to a different size and comp a dessert, fine by me! The desserts? Oh MY GOODNESS... you HAVE to save room for the desserts! We got a mocha cheesecake, creme brulee with no berries bc my daughter is allergic and the candied walnut crusted upside down apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. My mouth waters still thinking about all of this yummy goodness. We are already planning our next trip to Virginia Beach just to eat here again! BRAVO!!!
Poor service we were seated back of restaurant where we could see wait staff conversing and seemingly ignoring diners. Once our dinner arrived mine was cold. We had to flag waiter for drink refill and were never offered desert. Also once bill taken with credit card it took another 20 minutes for receipt to return to us. The poor service plus the price of food we will not be back
We have dinned at McCormick many times! The food is always real good, servers are friendly and attentive and the ambiance of the restaurant is great! We have dinned there with groups, our family and just the two of us for date night and have never been disappointed !!
We went here for the first time for Christmas. Because of the holiday they were very busy and it was pretty hectic and a little noisy. Despite that, the food arrived in a reasonable time and it was excellent - one of the best meals we've ever had. Our server was exceptional and made sure we had whatever we needed. The did an admirable job with the crowd they had and we are anxious to go back.
For you to check the log time to get to the table probably because they had only one weight person for our side of the room with two tables of large groups. We had a dessert and they came with melted ice cream indicated it had been sitting out for a long time for the ice cream to melt.
Horrible!!! We were there for my birthday. The waitress was extremely slow, we had to remind her more than once for literally everything we ordered!!! When our food finally arrived, after already being there over an hour, ALL was cold, my daughter’s grilled cheese wasn’t even cooked, just cold white bread!!! We will never go back, was there almost 3 hours!!!
The restaurant is pretty pricey for dinner, but the food was good. I recommend the shrimp kisses under the appetizers. Our server was a wonderful lady named Maria. She wasn't one of those servers that hover and never leave you alone or one that you can never find. Maria made sure our drinks were kept full and food was correct the first time. She was polite and friendly. Solely based on her service I would go back again. We had a reservation for 6:30 on a Sunday which was just perfect because by 6:40 the restaurant had emptied out some. The booths were a bit cramped for a party of four though. The restaurant was very clean and I honestly didn't notice a high noise level. For a first time experience there we all left happy, full and more than willing to return again.
We went here for our anniversary dinner and for the most part it was great! The food was fantastic and the portion size was perfect. The menu here is a bit pricey as expected, but I feel like the wine menu was priced a bit high.
The worst part was dirty dishes which was shocking to me, I really figured that going to a restaurant of this caliber, the dishes would have certainly been clean.
Any other large city in the US our meal would have been comped, but not in Virginia Beach...
I will go back again and I will recommend to my friends, I will also tell them to check to make sure their stuff is clean!!
We have dined at McCormick & Schmick’s for Thanksgiving dinners with family and just my husband and I. We’ve taken family to eat at this restaurant when they came from out of town for my dad’s funeral. We have never been disappointed in the food or the service. Both have always been excellent. When they are busy it does tend to get noisy and I do wish there were more booths, which provide more privacy.
Took my mom and brother to McCormick & Schmick's for Thanksgiving lunch. Server was pleasant but overworked covering two sections of dining room. My entree, scallops, came out burned and inedible. This plate never should have made it out of the kitchen past the executive chef. Very disappointed. Will not return since there are other restaurants of comparable quality and price in Towne Center.
Went for first-year wedding anniversary. We thought we would splurge on some good food. Splurge we did, on good food, not so much! Food was way overpriced for the bland spread we were served. I knew it was a bad sign when it was empty on Friday night at dinner time. Will never go back.
