McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Troy Ratings and Reviews
Service was absolutely horrible. Had to wait 15 minutes before someone even came to out table for drink orders although the restaurant was half empty. Another 20 minutes after that to get the drinks and food took 45 minutes after ordering. Spoke to the manager who conveniently threw the hostess under the bus and walked away. This is the second time getting poor service there- never going back. Surprised open table has promoted this restaurant
Always love the food and ambiance At McCormick and Schmick’s. Always make the reservation with Open Table. This night the hostesses seemed overwhelmed. Checked in 5 minutes early, approximately 5-6 other parties that arrived after us were seated. We finally asked about our table they totally overlooked the reservation. It was probably another 10 minutes before we finally sat down. Not a great way to start the evening. The food and service was great once this was straightened out.
This was my first time going here. It was your Veterans Day special night which was nice for you all to honor our Veterans like you do. The wait wasn't too long, reservations helped I'm sure. The food taste good overall, although the salads we ordered were supposed to have Parmesan Cheese and Blue Cheese, but mine was missing the Parmesan and my wife's didn't have either! The bread and butter was a nice jester. The bread came warm and the butter was soft to spread easily, but the bread didn't have a lot of flavor. I wouldn't say that I'm in a rush to visit there again, but I also won't say that I'd never go back. ARFI
Sure the waitress smiled, but it didn't seem genuine. She never brought or even ask if we would like water. She never ask to find out if we needed more napkins -- and since she didn't, I got some napkins from the bar area. My mother, niece and I came because of the complementary Veteran's Day meal I received. -- the fettuccini was dry and apparently had been sitting underneath the hotlamp for quite sometime. It was editable -- but dry. The chicken was so thin my first thought was the chicken breast had been twice filleted. My mother ordered a walnut salad and it two walnuts in it. Two! For dessert my niece ordered ice cream w/chocolate syrup with a "cherry on top". My niece spit the cherry out and made the comment that the cherry "taste like the smell of butt". I can only compliment this location for allowing us to be seated earlier than our scheduled reservation time. Other than that, I can't say I enjoyed my meal or my first time experience at this location.
Thank you anyway McCormick & Schmidt's (Troy) for the gesture, but I'll try another location from now on. These past 3 years I've eaten at the Las Vegas location for Veteran's Day and received exceptional service leaving feeling appreceicated for my military service and the sacrifice I made. Then to find out that the Las Vegas location closed compared to the Troy, MI location was mind boggling.
We went to this restaurant for a Veteran's Day offer. My husband's meal was free. We will be back, as the food was excellent and the prices reasonable. The server was attentive but did not hover. We would recommend it without reservations to anyone who want to have a good seafood meal. Also, the oysters were wonderful!
The food at the restaurant was excellent. The atmosphere is great. I've been to the restaurant several times and have never had a bad meal. They have a great Happy Hour menu. It's very easy to carry on a conversation at this restaurant since it is quiet. I highly recommend this restaurant
My son is an Air Force veteran and was treated to a complimentary meal by McCormick & Schmick's in honor of Veteran's Day. The restaurant was busy with many veterans enjoying lunch. It was heartwarming that a restaurant would open up their doors for the entire day and offer complimentary meals to veterans. The food was delicious and service very good. Hats off to McCormick & Schmick's, we will definitely return!
Hadn't been there in a long time. Restaurant was not busy at all for a Saturday night and the service was veey slow. Although my meal (shrimp scampi w/linguini was excellant the portion could have been a little bigger and sime of the othe members of my party were disappointed in their meal. I think Ocean Prime which is across the street is hurting their business
First, it was 5 minutes before anyone even noticed I was there! Hey asked if it was a special occasion, to which I responded my daughter was celebrating her 21st birthday. No one said anything about it after that. Why ask? The food was the worst experience I’ve ever had at McCormick’s! The Lobster Bisque was oily. The Caesar dressing was bland an not enough on the salad. The salmon had no flavor whatsoever. I have been to M&S dozens of times and never had such a bad experience! The bread pudding was enjoyable though. Thank God for a kind and attentive server. He was the saving grace for today, but I won’t be back to this location!
Really like this restaurant. The service left a little to be desired. Not sure if the waiter was new, but did not seem to have a good grasp of the menu and seem to be unorganized. He forgot several items and had to make multiple trip to the table. Despite the less than great service, the food was very good.
When I want good seafood I always turn to McCormick and Schmick's. The seafood is fresh and the preparation is creative and yummy. It was very busy when we were there, so was a wee bit slow to get food, but well worth the wait. Plus, I loved seeing the restaurant busy and vibrant. We will definitely return for the next birthday or anniversary.
Reserved at an “off” time, apparently, since restaurant was offering 1000 points at that time. Must have been an “off” time for staff as well. While waitress was very pleasant, she appeared to be over worked with too many tables to provide the kind of service the price point would indicate. Felt a bit neglected. We were ready for more wine & had to wait quite awhile for her to come around. We sat over 15 minutes after finishing our meal before we could order dessert & after dinner drinks. Never saw a manager traveling around to see how things were. Waitress was very apologetic regarding issues when we told her we were disappointed in service, but no compensation was offered, such as a free dessert. On a positive note, food was quite good. Wild caught salmon with roasted veggie & arugula citrus salad was particularly tasty. But @ $32, I would expect exemplary service & that simply wasn’t provided. I believe the waitress could be capable of providing better service if she had reasonable work load. May return eventually for another try, but not in a huge hurry as there is too much competition in the area with better priced equally good food and better service.
First time to eat there. Great menu focused on seafood and steaks, but with several other options as well. Great wine list - half price bottles on Thursdays. Friendly professional staff. Excellent seafood mixed grill. A real pleasure and reasonably priced for a fine dining experience.
I made the reservation indicating it was our wedding anniversary and it was disappointing that we did not get recognized for this special occasion. I would have checked more recommendations if they would have shown some recognition. when someone is celebrating a special occasion it would be nice to let them know after requesting a special booth and such.
It kind of took away from the overall experience.
Our visit was the annual Troy Restaurant Week which offered special pricing on a special menu. I think this year was not so good in comparison with past years. The offering/selection wasn't the best to create excitement for the restaurant for us. We came due to other positive experiences here but the it was from the regular menu. I think they did themselves a "dis-service" this year with the offering not being their best. Our server was outstanding and provided solid service. My wife and I really like the quaint smaller sitting areas along the window side of the building.
