I had never been and had a gift card to use. Very nice ambiance, casual dress but upscale prices. Food was great but for the price, I can go elsewhere and get just as good for less.
Sly was a great waiter.
Nice restaurant with delicious seafood options and great steak. We always enjoy our time here, and the service is top notch!
Waiter was awful, served wrong drinks didn’t correct bill. Didn’t apologize for errors had bad attitude.
Steak overcooked. Red pepper mashed potatoes watered down and flavorless. Terrible service. 135 bucks and we left hungry. This was a good restaurant. It isn't anymore.
The food was good, but the service was not as expected. There didn't seem to be enough staff, either in the bar or the dining room.
Very good sea food. Excellent service. Atmosphere is quiet.
Very tasty, healthy entrées. One of the better St. Louis restaurants for ambiance.
However, it is very expensive for the portions served.
Exceptional seafood selections.
Food was good, service was good. Only downside is they seated our party of 5 at a table for 6 but never pulled the extra place setting to create more room and make the table look professional. One other item was that the ice water didn't have any ice in it until half way through the dinner. Odd.
Great service. Perfect location for a business dinner.
Very nice dinner but small portions for the price. We celebrated a birthday and the atmosphere was perfect.
Have dined here several times in the last year. Food is always prepared well. Menu changes so there are lots of new things to try. Will be back soon.
The service was top-notch, but our food on Friday night was lacking. My salmon was undercooked and had an unpleasant fishy smell that is not found in fresh fish. My son's and my veggies were so undercooked that they were very nearly raw. His dish was so heavily salted that he did not eat most of it.
On the plus side, our server was very personable and friendly, we had a great bottle of wine, and the seafood gumbo was very tasty.
Great service and great food. Also appreciated the reservation system being so user friendly.
From beginning to end my wife and I enjoyed our unhurried meal. The service as well as the food was as it should have been. My order was full of special requirements each of which was followed without question to the letter. We'll be back.
Very disappointed in the quality of the food on this visit. Not normally the case. Lobster bisque soup was extremely salty. Mussels were dry, salmon was undercooked, pasta was crunchy and crab legs seemed to have been heated up vs freshly prepared. About the only food that was fine was the New England Clam Chowder. Been coming in annually near Valentine's Day the last 5 years. Might just have been a bad night. Server was great though. No problems there.
I took my girlfriend here for a surprise birthday dinner and the food was delicious. A bit pricy but that’s to expect when dining at a speciality restaurant. About five hours after I ate dinner I became violently ill and was sick throughout the whole night. I did contact the restaurant and they took my name and number and apologized. I work in the food business and I think I would’ve taken my report a little more serious. It was my first and last time at this restaurant.
The food was really great. I usually visit J.Gilberts and Bristols for the grilled salmon. And I would come here for the fried shrimp. But, I tried the grilled salmon at McCormick & Schmick's restaurant and have been eating it here at least three times a month.
So, this visit I got a new waitress and she charged me $7.00 additional for the spinach and the broccolini. I was a little disturbed because I usually substitute the spinach for the green beans and the broccolini for the mashed potatoes. This is one of the reasons I labeled this restaurant as a healthy location.
The manager stated that I would have to pay the additional charges next time. I could understand that perhaps the cost of the broccolini maybe a bit more but the spinach. As a result I have not returned to the restaurant especially when I can go to J.Gilberts and not have the additional expense.
Should the cost be deducted from the tip or should I just not go back. I really thought this was absurd considering that both of the guests is a Landry's Select Club member.
Soup was great, wedge salad was just ok. Flounder was bland.crab cakes were missing the corn salsa. Waiter lost our order and it made our meal take an extra hour. When we told him the salsa was missing, he said the kitchen was out. How do you run out of corn salsa? Bad experience in a formerly good restaurant.
Great food, service, atmosphere! Great for large groups where you’re not sure of everyone’s food preferences- it offers a diverse menu to please even the pickiest of eaters. A definite keeper on our list of favorite spots!
Probably the worst service I have ever experienced.
First of all, this was a valentines date. We were seated in a banquet room with several other tables that had been set up as a way to get more people seated at the restaurant. The tables were extremely close and ever other couple in this room was very uncomfortable. The tables were from that patio..... very cheap set up for a higher end restaurant.
Next our server was clueless on everything. No knowledge of the wine list or ability to explain the menu. Only after looking at the menu for a few minutes....”What chu want???” Was how our order was taken.
My wine and water glass hit empty more than 2 times and I had to flag down our server to ask for a refill.
It’s hard to describe a bad experience. But this was completely overpriced and no manager insight to ask how our meal was.
Way better places in this town for a good meal, the mall food court would give you better ambiance and service.
They over booked on Valentine’s Day and ruined our experience. We have always gone there on special occasions, but they took us for granted on this occasion and made us wait after we used the Open Table App to make a reservation. We will not go back and will not use the Open Table App again, as restaurants do not honor the reservations made with it.
My husband and I attempted to celebrate Valentines Day! Upon arrival we learned that our 8:00 o'clock reservation would NOT be honored at that time but DELAYED 30-40 minutes. When we finally were seated at 8:55 we sat at our table for the better part of 15 minutes without a drop of water or a greeting from our server. Not to mention the table set up is very confusing and not at all a relaxing environment as tables are on top of each other. Finally after 30 plus minutes my request for water was fulfilled. We placed and appetizer order and after another INORDINATE amount of time we left! Now its 9:20 on Valentines Day with NO other reservation.... We live in a place where there is a plethora of options so we walked next door to J Gilberts and had an amazing meal. The ambiance blew away McCormick & Schmick's and once we shared our tales of next door the server brought us not only water but an appetizer on her! We will for sure going back to J Gilberts again for a fantastic meal so I guess thank you to McCormick & Schmick's for the dreadful experience we never would have gone to J Gilberts had that not happened. Wow
My Valentine and I really enjoyed our evening here. The food and service were great! I also liked the ambiance which set the tone for relaxing conversation.
For Valentine’s dinner, we ordered just about everything that appealed to us - salad, shrimp kisses, steak, lobster tail, king crab, crab cakes, and drinks. The food was outstanding! Our server, although enthusiastic, wasn’t often around but he seemed newer and the night was busy. If you love steak and seafood, they do a great job here!
The bread and salad were not tasty as in past visits. Our king crabs came very cold. I was disappointed because this was a special night. I did not get the value for my money at all.
Valentines is a special day for us, since it is the anniversary of our engagement. We have always had exceptional service here and the food has always been wonderful. Even on a busy night, like tonight, everything went smoothly. When dining here, we always top off our meal with the upside down apple pie. It is to die for.
Great atmosphere and excellent waiter who was very knowledgeable of the menu. Would highly recommend
I love Caesar salad, I enjoy it often. My caesar salad plate was warm and the Romaine lettuce was warm.
A Caesar salad should always be served cold. Hopefully they can make this happen.
We enjoyed a quiet Valentine's Day dinner. Try the tuna tartare (prepared tableside)... it was delicious.
We had not been the the St Louis location, only KC on the Plaza.....wow we were way impressed and will be back. Food was fanatic. Thank you!
Our server was very good. The mixed salads with toasted pecans was wonderful. The mixed grill was very good and probably enough food for 2. The chocolate silk pie was totally decadent.
The food was not warm. The Salmon my mother n law ordered was not good.
For the price of the food, it was not worth it.
Excellent food and service. Menu is diverse enough to satisfy all parties.
This is the second location I’ve visited. The first being the location on the plaza in Kansas City. Was instantly one of my favorite restaurants of all time. This location unfortunately is no where near the quality food, environment, or fresh menu the other has. I have within the last year moved to the St Louis area and once I found this I immediately reserved a table. At $50 a plate you’d think they would be better. Left disappointed with the experience. Service was above average. Food and environment was subpar.
Maybe if I tried this one without already visiting the others I would’ve enjoyed it more.
I took my Father out to dinner to celebrate his 86th Birthday. He wanted to go to McCormick & Schmick’s because he said they have the best Seafood in town. Dad ordered oysters on the half shell and the waiter was very knowledgeable about which kind of oysters to select. I ordered clam chowder for my appetizer. Dad ordered hot tea to drink and I ordered decaf coffee and cream. It took a little longer than we expected for the beverages and appetizers to arrive, but it was all excellent and the main course showed up with perfect timing after we finished the appetizers. Refills of our beverages was very timely and the waiter asked us how we were doing and if we needed anything else. I ordered a wonderful dessert which I shared with my dad, and I had the remainder of my dinner boxed to take with me. All went very well.
I think it took too long to get my food.Service was just ok.Was given a dessert for my wait my husband does not like chocolate but we weren’t asked are given a choice.
I went for Brunch at 12:15 PM on a Saturday. Spent $80 on me and a friend. Not worth it. Crab cake was luke warm, burger was not seasoned enough. For it's notoriety and expensive menu I assumed it would be a delicious experience. That it was not. Decor is beautiful and service (Zach) was great. Would not recommend.
The server was very attentive to our needs. The food and wine were good. The ambiance was great and allowed for quiet conversation.
