Location is great and atmosphere is very good and comfortable. I had a parmesan crusted Petrale Sole which was excellent. Others had blackened swordfish and blackened rockfish. The fish were very good but it wasn't blackened all that well/thoroughly. Also their dishes all came with the wrong vegetables. While the menu promised Brussel Sprouts with bacon, etc., what came out was a couple of carrots and a type of Japanese root. Obviously a much cheaper veggie. On demand, the restaurant did make good on the Brussel Sprouts, but it was very surprising that they would get these wrong in the first place. Overall, people's expectations were higher than the actual dining experience. A bit of a disappointment.
This is probably one of the worst-run establishments I have been to. The restaurant was not even half full. I let the matrei d' know of our arrival and that we had a reservation. It took a full 10 minutes before we were shown our seat. This was followed by another 10 minutes before anyone took our order, and a full 30 mins of waiting for the entrees to arrive.
Worst of all, all the waiters are extremely incompetent and rude. We asked for the check, which came only after another 15 mins and there was a charge for an apple pie that we never ordered. We told our waiter who said he will get it correct. After another 15 mins of waiting and not being able to find our waiter, we pointed out the problem to another waiter and the response was "what do you expect me to do?". Finally, our actual waiter came back with the corrected check and basically threw the check on the table.
The meals were nothing to write home about. All the tables are arranged so close together that we were constantly bumping to guests on a neighboring table.
Unbelievably bad for such an expensive restaurant. Take your business elsewhere. There are plenty of good establishments in San Jose.
There is unbelivably bad serivce for such an expensive restaurant.
We had to wait to be seated despite having a reservation. Server was friendly, bur failed to bring water and bread after multiple requests. Food was good, but follow up on refills, food quality, etc. could have been better. Overall, just okay.
Server did not clear away the appetizer calamari bowl or offer clean bread plates after they were used for the appetizer or offer to fill the children's soda until asked.
My daughter felt the server was not very receptive to her telling that her son has a very severe nut allergy. Whereas in the past, the server was very much on top of my daughter's request.
Pleasant lunch this afternoon. Lobster bisque was good as usual. Filet Mignon cooked properly. Wife enjoyed their special, a crab and shrimp cake sandwich. Finished with the delicious chocolate bag. Service was attentive and good. Lacked for nothing.
Service was good, albeit a little slow. Good variety with the menu. The side dish of roasted vegetables was mainly green beans with a brownish cast to them—not very appealing.
The white hostess needs diversity training. She made me wait 20 minutes before seating me. She seated white folks with 6:30 pm reservations first while my reservation was 5:45 pm. I asked her for a table with a window and she said “I’ll see what I can do.” with an attitude. 10 minutes later she then tried to seat me by the back. I then had to ask to be seated by window which I had previously requested. The front guy (manager maybe) did not even have a decency to say, “Hi.” When are white people going to learn that minorities make good money and dine at fine restaurants, too. Bonnie, our waitress, on the other hand was excellent. She was great. I would never recommend such establishment, even to my white friends.
checked in at host stand, had resie, asked if we could sit outside, yes we could. Waited 15 minutes for waitress, ordered 2 drinks each to start and apps and ordered our entrée when first drink came. Told us bar was busy, went into bar for a glass of wine and bar was deserted. Took 1hr 45 minutes. Food was good service was terrible. Never again. happens time and again at these chains. M&S, Johnnys Italian Steak House, JImmy V's,
The last time I went here was about 5 years ago and the food was pretty good . My steak was tasty and I got a good amount of food . My recent visit was just not good . Food was blah . I was hungry still after dinner . The amount of food and the quality has changed a lot . I was not impressed . I could of went to red lobster and had a better dinner there and for cheaper .
Shrimp extra large, extra sweet and oysters good along with clamari.
Food was great. Priced right. Service was slow and borderline unavailable. Restaurant was virtually empty.
Any meal that starts with warm sourdough bread is doing well. I was glad to see several small entrees on the menu, because restaurant servings are frequently too large for my partner's and my appetites. However, we both elected to have the regular lunches, and her sole and my rockfish were both excellent, and the chef also did a good job with the sides.
I tend to like a quiet restaurant, and McCormick and Schmick was quiet, in part at least because Saturday lunchtime is not a big crowd time.
My filet mignon steak was great, the bread was nice, the plated veggies - uninspired and burnt. Service was good and the room had the dark wood (well maintained) classy restaurant vibe. Bathrooms were clean and well-appointed. The value of the price compared to what was on my plate was lacking.
At the time we were seated was closed to 1pm on a Thursday. Only 3 other customers in the restaurant. Yet our Server did not bring bread. I asked, but they then we had our meal. Server did not refill my guests iced tea or water before the meal came and we had to flag him down to refill after our meal. He also did not once come over to see if all was ok. This is unacceptable for a regular customer, let alone a Landry customer. I did have my Landry card out so he would know.
Thought we’d give this another try. Haven’t been in 2 yrs. Don’t like to complain and they credited our entree’s. Oyster poor no taste. Twin lobster and crab. Lobster’s soggy and mushy and crab cracked open but missing pieces of meat. Tasteless and not worth the price. Sorry to say only thing good was the drinks. Just keep walking bye. Open table shouldn’t even have you as a place to go. Horrible!!!
Service was terrible, had to waive down the waiter each time to come over our table
My husband and I brought my sister here for her birthday celebration dinner. The food was good. It would’ve been a lot nicer if you brought her dessert with a candle on it, but you didn’t have any. You call to remind your customers about their booking. For birthday celebrations (as I had clearly indicated on my reservation) tell people to provide their own candles. Couldn’t you go to Walgreens or something and buy birthday candles?!
Great food and great service from Tommy! Pleasantly surprised as a year ago my experience was not as good.
Wife and I had a great time it was our anniversary I would recommend this place to anyone who is having a special occasion
The prices are a bit expensive for what you get. The food is tasty and well prepared. Service is excellent.
Our dinner was outstanding! Fresh Alaskan Halibut so good. I had fresh vegetables (green beans, Carrots and potatoes) with it. Quality fresh food. Definitely will be back .
Father’s Day. Limited menu but still delicious!
Was a bit taken aback by the relatively limited Father's Day Menu, yet the selections were tasty and the overall experience fine. Not "Wow!" But fine!
The place was great but the food was very bland.
It was okay, just plain 'ol okay. The drinks were good and the staff were friendly. Steak was overcooked and fish and chips - fish was kinda soggy and the chips were cold.
There were six of us and everyones food ordered was awesome/
We had reservations, but arrived early and were seated immediately. All 14 guests stated that the food was tasty. The only issue that I had was we had one waiter for 14 people. He did a great job early in the meal, but as more people came in, he was not as attentive as he should have been. We still enjoyed our meal and will definitely return.
Restaurant was not busy but we had to ask for bread. Waiter only returned twice, but I am not sure what he was doing.
waitress was super nice, always knew when the right time to come and overall amazing 1st experience, well forsure be coming back in the near future
My Food was very salty I could not eat it. I had to send it back. Second plate was was ok though not worth the $30. Quality is lacking.
Drinks were excellent! Would definitely go back and spend time at the bar. The filet met our expectations, but did not "wow" us.
Lobster tail was undercooked and cold. Beef medallions were supposed to be med rare but were well done. My stomach was severely upset after this meal. We went to a play and I had to leave urgently multiple times through the performance.
I expect much better for $200 meal.
The service was good, the food was good - the bad part was that they were out of the very thing that I went in for
Good service and a nice place for a business lunch as it's fairly quiet
Took my kids for 5th and 8th grade graduation. The kids menu was one of the best I've ever seen. Great variety and affordable prices. We all loved our dishes and left our plates clean.
Our group had a lovely time! Very delicious, excellent server, very knowledgeable, but kitchen was a smidge slow. Would go back again.
Very well prepared dishes, chosen mainly upon the recommendations of the server whose menu knowledge came from her own patrinizatiin of McCormick & Schmick’s. Personable service, substantial drinks and an overall great experience. From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcomed and appreciated.
McCormick & Schmick is never a disappointment. The service is very nice and the food is wonderful.
We attended as guests of the restaurant in recognition of Memorial Day. Absolutely fabulous reception as we entered for our reservation and seated immediately. Our seating arrangements were very comfortable and our assigned waitress Andrea was cordial and very professional. She was very knowledgeable of the dinner menu and made wonderful suggestions. The entres for the special dinner were varied and delicious. We have come on many occasions and will continue for years to come.
