McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - San Diego
Book your next event with us
The Big Eye Hawaiian tuna dish was one of the best seafood dinners I can remember. Everything we had was delicious. I have generally been under the impression that M&S is a bit pricey, and possibly so as it caters to the tourist and convention crowd. But on this occasion, the meals, drinks, dessert were of reasonable value.
The fish selections are ALWAYS over the top! There was a large bisiness group of boisterous individuals
that made a pleasant noise level into a loud one. Our conversation level had to be increased in order to communicate - no fun!!
Excellent getaway destination!
great way to have thanksgiving dinner with the family -- let someone else make a nice meal for you! This was a bargain. We'll do it again next year for certain.
I was pleasantly surprised! We were looking for a plated Thanksgiving meal and we couldn’t of picked a better place! The dinner had large portions of turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, apple squash dish, amazing stuffing and green beans. We didn’t want to cook this year due to a pregnant family member. This was perfect and we all went home with leftovers! Service was great and location perfect. Might be back next year was so great! Thanks McCormick & Schmick’s
Ordered the appetizer bacon wrapped scallions and cup of lobster bisque. Very disappointed in the bacon wrapped scallions. Three scallions pieces that looked like they were from one scallop but cut into thirds. Each third was wrapped in ½ a strip of bacon. - priced at $17. The lobster bisque was a fabulous.
Everything was great except the drunk woman at the bar with her dog that bothered me when I was eating.
We went in for the Veterans' Day dinner celebration. While one of our entrées was free..by the time we finished making the meal the tasty festive occasion we wanted to share...the bill was over $250..but we enjoyed every bite and sip!!
I am a Landry Member and have never been to McCormick and Schmick's. I received an email that they were offering a fabulous deal for Veterans. My Partner, a 20 year Marine Vet, was happy to accompany me. We ordered off a special Veteran's Day menu. He had the cedar plank salmon and I had the fish and chips. They were tasty, not as hot as we prefer in temperature. We also ordered appetizers, shrimp cocktail and crab cake. The appetizers were amazing. Overall, a nice dinner!
We go annually for there Veterans Celebration!! The meals are always great even though they are busy!! Our service was great too!!
All, except the service, was great. My wife and I were somewhat ignored.
Dined @ McCormick's for Veterans day. Wait staff was excellent, food was not up to usual standards. Vegetables were undercooked, parmesan chicken was poor. Based on previous visits, I feel this was an aberration. Again, our table server as excellent & made up for the deficiency in food quality.
plain and simple, good menu, great service. On arrival we were greeted in a very pleasant manner.
Seating is spacious and comfortable. Great menu selection, our food was very well prepared and
served promptly. Enjoyed a good meal in a pleasant atmosphere.
Thank you for the Veterans Day Meal. Greatly appreciated.
Party of five veterans joyed your food and services. Thank you for offering your Veterans Day appreciation meals which we look forward to every year.
We were there for a weekend lunch and wound up almost having the place to ourselves. The server was very attentive, but not hovering. The food selection and quality was excellent. We like a quiet restaurant; I don’t know if it is always quiet because there was hardly anyone there when we were. However, for us it was excellent. We will definitely be back!
Service slow but otherwise pleasant experience
We came here after a Padres game. Food was good, a little pricey, but good. Our server forgot to put in our order for a salad. She was oblivious and didn’t try to make it up to us but which was odd since we paid $200 for an early dinner.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – not busy, but at least we had the waiters full attention. View was not spectacular but the weather and internal temperature of the restaurant was perfect. I definitely would return when in the area. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the shrimp scampi was perfect. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Quality of food was nowhere near the price required. Two steaks were over cooked. Caesar salad was very good. Lump crab cake was okay. Steak had good flavor but again, were not correctly cooked. Were out of several drink options, and then brought the wrong one. For the price, compared to the product, would rate it well below average for similar restaurants.
My reservation was at 7:15 p.m., we were running late so I called and informed them that we were running late. They said no problem and that our table would be waiting for us. The man on the phone was very nice and as soon as we arrived we were seated, no waiting. Our waitress was very friendly and patient with us since my father couldn't decide on what he wanted to order. But there was a few times that I felt that she forgot about us.
I have been going to McCormick & Schmick's for quite some time now and really enjoy the food and the atmosphere.
Greeted immediately upon arrival and was ushered to a very nice booth for both of us. Waitress immediately asked if we were here to celebrate an event. Food was okay but waitress made it a very enjoyable dinner. She and another gentleman kept checking on us. Ended with a surprise dessert brought to table for a birthday. Samantha is a great asset to your restaurant!
Excellent food and service as always. We often go before a Padre game and it's convenient.
It should be said that this one serves breakfast. Great chilaquiles and fish tacos.
Keep the outside door(s) closed as to not allow those annoying flies into the dining room!!!!
I make better food and I've never been to chef school! Maybe you should serve my Ahi/Mango/Avocado tower instead of your crab/mango/avocado tower. I've had such towers at so many restaurants and this was by far the worst, not even any type of chips to go with it! Drinks were too watered down, I'm a light weight so if I barely felt anything, they were poor and overpriced. Waiter was wonderful or my rating would be even lower.
great value for a nice meal. The service and food were both excellent.
There weren’t ad many options on the menu as in your other restaurants. Three of us ate snd while the food was good it wasn’t excellent.
The service was great the food wonderful would return.
I have dined here many times. The menu is great, and the meal was an excellent value.
Great service and food in a nice atmosphere. Will dine there again. Great location near Petco park.
Service was good but very slow.
Love your Restaurant, great food and service. We always stay at the Omni Hotel when attending Brian Buffini's Mastermind each year.
Oddly for a Saturday, there was almost no one else in the restaurant; the waiter explained that there was no Padres game, nothing going on at the convention center, and a banquet upstairs for many of the hotel guests. Our win, however—we had excellent, attentive service. The food was tasty as always, though I did wonder what had happened to the large scallops I remembered from previous visits. Maybe they used them all for the banquet? The scallops we had in the appetizer and one of the entrées were quite small. Delicious, but hardly a mouthful, especially for the bacon-wrapped scallops starter. All the dishes were beautifully prepared and presented, and all of our tummies left quite satisfied. As a nice touch, we were there for a birthday dinner, and there were four specially printed menus that proclaimed "Happy birthday."
This should be the flagship location in CA. It is! Service terrific. Manager came over to chat. Food was terrific. Fish is their strong point. It is in the OMNI Hotel which is a nice location.
A little disappointed as we have eaten at another McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Chicago and the portions were much larger and everything listed on the menu was actually what was served. Very skimpy on the veggies and did not include all listed, only 4 sea scallops the size of a quarter and the price for the dish was $44. - a little over priced! The flavors were good, just skimpy & over priced for what you got.
The food wasn’t up to par with other restaurants we have been to in other cities.
Was very disappointed in the food, especially for the price I paid. I've eaten at McCormick & Schmick's in Chicago many times and the quality of their food is much more superior than what I received at the San Diego location.
Went for lunch. It was pretty good. Due to proximity of the convention center, we will be back for sure.
