McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Roseville - The Fountains Ratings and Reviews
It was Valentines’s Day. The restaurant was very overbooked the hostess said. The restaurant took their own reservations over the phone, but said somehow reservations via websites like this one either were overlooked or they didn’t know about them. Result: We were waiting for over an hour past our reservation time to be seated with a lobby full of others who were also waiting for the same reason. Once seated, our food arrived 45 min later, Time was 10:30 pm. Our waitress apologized & said our meal literally wasthe last order being cooked. After eating, we were the last to leave the restaurant. In short, a very disappointing, annoying experience! Our waitress & the food were the only highlight, along with my husband.
The restaurant called me 2-3 days before the date/time of the reservation (2/14/2018 8:30pm) to confirm on which we did. Got there 5 mins til the time of reservation and was told it was gonna be at least a 20 min wait. I had to ask the hostess again just in case she had mistaken us for somebody who just walked in. They said we had to wait. They took us to our table just a few minutes after 9pm. We ordered and was told the kitchen was backed up. We were famished. Another waiter came out with food for the table next to us and we assumed it was ours. The waiter had the audacity to joke that it would take 2 hours for food to come out. I get that it’s valentines dinner but they shouldn’t be taking people in if they don’t think they can’t meet the reservations made, much more the confirmed reservations. They could’ve at least given our drinks for free. So much for confirming. Boo.
We usually enjoy our visits here but our last visits was just bad. We got our table 45 minutes late, the hostess was blunt and not friendly, the food arrived 60 minutes after we placed our order. Hostesses and waitresses kept reminding us it was Valentine’s Day. For the amount of money the restaurant charges for it’s food, surely the management can find a way not to ruin the Valentine’s Day experience for their customers. Our experience was definitely ruined by unprofessional hostess and slow service.
I made reservations for Valentines day at 8:00 pm and my name was not called until 8:43. I honestly do not understand why they overbook reservations. The food was great. I hate sea food and my wife order shrimps as an apetizer and she made me tey them, I have to say that they were really good. Prices were supposed to be $30 and under according to reviews but they did not have anything good under $30.
For our Valentine’s Day celebration we made reservations and when we arrived we were told that it would be awhile. We bought a glass of wine and waited for about 15 minutes and we checked again later and they said it would be about an hour so we left. They had over booked and many couples were waiting. You could tell that the staff as well as the guests were stressed. We went and had sushi instead which turned out to be the right choice.
Very loud. Overbooked for Valentine's day. Standing room only in small lobby for almost and hour past reservation. Waiter never offered more drinks after first one not did he bring anymore bread while we waited almost 45 minutes for dinner. Will not be returning.
We arrived as a party of two for Valentine’s Day dinner. Upon arriving we were told that there was a 25 to 30 minute wait and they were running extremely slow. I ordered the Parmesan crusted fillet of soul. It was soggy, warm, and looked as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 20+ minutes. My vegetables were cold and rice warm. The waiter asked how my meal was. I told him I was disappointed. All he said was sorry.
We had a reservation at 645 and when we checked in at 630 and was told we were on time to get our table at the time we had the reservation for. We waited 30 minuets to check back and they told us 20-25 minuets well that was big lie as we didn’t get seat until 8pm! This was totally unacceptable. No one apologized..... I will not be going to the restaurant again .
To bad as I loved the food there!!
You Lost customer
Restaurant was obviously overbooked for Valentine’s Day...we were first seated in a banquet room off the main dining room, which was set up with little tables, to cram as many people in as possible...we asked to be moved, and were seated in the dining room...ignored for a while, then finally got things rolling...when the food came out, what a disappointment...I thought shrimp scampi should have some garlic and butter...the noodles were dry, the shrimp over cooked...nothing remarkable here...just a company trying to get as much as they can for a holiday by raising their prices and cramming as many people in as possible, no matter what the end result is...perhaps they should be more concerned about their customers having a great meal, in a nice setting, so they would want to come back...such short sidedness will be their downfall...never again will we go out to this restaurant on a holiday!!!
This was a 5:30 Reservation for Valentines Day, The night was a total mess. Over booked Reservations long waits for everyone.
long waits, and most of all bad food I had to send my dinner back raw, cold Swordfish, waitress
offered to replace it but my wife had finished her meal so we decided to leave , totally disappointing . Also tables were so close to each other people were bumping into our chairs.
I have to say we will not be coming back to McCormick& Schmidt again.
So sorry that our special occasion was ruined, we will be looking for another restaurant for all our special dinners.
We had a reservation for 5:30 and didn't get seated until 6:00 after standing for whole time with many other people. Wait staff was overwhelmed and service was minimal. Restaurant seemed to have "double booked" as it was Valentines Day. Salad was soggy; swordfish was strong
and overall experience was disappointing. Won't return.
Food was tasteless. Clam chowder won awards? Not good, a bowlful of potatoes. Didn’t bring roasted vegetables with my tasteless salmon, but roasted potatoes. Orzo and trout were tasteless. Veggies were over cooked and slivered. Spent over $100 for 2, worth about $25
Our reservation somehow did not show up on the restaurant’s computer. However there was plenty of room in this large, attractive dining room and we were seated immediately. The staff promised to investigate the missing reservation and assured us that we would get credit for it in the Open Table system. Manager Paul came to our table and explained that the issue was cleared up. All in all a good experience: good food. (Stuffed salmon for my date and Parmesan crusted sole for me) attentive service, and respectful, informative clarification of a problem. Well done!
Monday, February 5 my wife and I along with the two other couples had dinner at McCormick and Schmidt‘s. When we arrived we were properly seated special menus with headline honoring our 43rd wedding anniversary nice thought. We set down and menus were passed out our waitress informed us that there would be no steaks available nor would they be any salmon available unbelievable this is a steak and seafood restaurant. At the top of the menu there was two Entrées featuring two different salmon plates. This forced my group do you order something other than what they wanted. It will be quite some time before I go back if at all.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed with our trip to McCormick and Schmidt’s. Food was mediocre, the ambience was incongruent with the price point of the menu and it didn’t feel like a fine dining experience. When you substitute a vegetable but only tell the guests once your food was being delivered, not something I expected from this type of restaurant. For the same money I would recommend Ruth’s Chris.
Celebrate anniversary dinner. Food was good but Filet of sole was way over cooked, almost burned on one side. Veggies, also, cooked to “squishy”. Sea Bass was excellent but broth very salty. Veggies were fine. Service was excellent and timely. Overall, nice dinner.
