McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Rosemont Ratings and Reviews
We spent about 3-4 hours eating and drinking with a group of ladies. Our original waitress left on a shift change and our second waiter was not quite as organized or attentive. The restaurant wasn’t super busy, which kind of surprised us for the Friday after valentine’s day. Food was excellent and drinks were awesome.
Plate that our appetizer was served on had a piece of gum stuck to the bottom. Waiter placed down the plate and the gum spread out from his arm to the table. He tried to remove the gum as if he was going to serve it to us until we asked that it be taken back. Everything was downhill from there.
This place used to be upscale, but it has really gone downhill. "Billion Dollar Buyer" signs when you walk in and on menu cheapen the experience. Service was inattentive and haphazard. Bus boy running through near empty restaurant. Random waiter smelled my napkin after I cleaned my hands (bizarre!). Food was mediocre. Cold foods were warm. Hot foods were cold. Nothing special about presentation at all. Hard sales pitch at the end of the meal for Landrys Club using worn pamphlet. We couldn't wait to leave. Oh, the bread was very good (but don't ask for extra butter because you won't get it.)
food was great! service was ok. the attention given to me was a little lacking. the waitress had some other tables with more people, therefore, she was not as attentive as I have had, when I ate at the Skokie store. she did not ask if everything was okay, unless I called her when she was passing by.
Valet and Hostess were exceptional. I just thought the service was very slow for 5pm on a Monday night with only a few diners seated. The food was not worth the price, given that we had one of the specials and one signature dish and they were just ok. The McCormick & Schmick's downtown is much quicker and food is better. That said, the waiter was very nice and attentive, despite waiting very long for drinks, then again for appetizer (over 20 minutes), then again for entry.
Terrible terrible service. We wanted better for a special birthday dinner. The pacing of the meal was awful for a slow snowy night. 20 min between appetizers and soup. Another 20 to get our entrees. We kept asking for more bread to fill in the time. We weren't greeted when we sat down for some time. Our waitress forgot part of our order and didn't ask if we want a dessert menu and brought a "bday dessert" that my husband was allergic to. I hope the service at the downtown location is better. The food however, was great once we finally ate.
Waiter took our drink order and then came back 15 minutes later to ask if we were already to order drinks. Substituted our oysters with another kind without asking first, lobster bisque was delicious. Crab legs barely edible. After eating 2, I gave up. Let the waiter know that they were tough, dry and cold. He apologized and brought us a complimentary dessert. I think it would have been appropriate for him to have a manager stop by or ask if I would like them replaced. But no, paid $40 for a horrid meal. Thankfully I still managed to have a great date with my husband. But we will not be returning here.
First visit in Rosemont, experience was very good. Started with the calamari which was cooked perfectly. We had the Sea Bass and Blackened Whitefish. Sea Bass was excellent, Whitefish was good but nothing out of the ordinary.
Dan was our server, he was very attentive and did a fine job. Overall it was a very good experience.
I ordered the grilled seafood Trio, and everything was floating in butter. The green beans, shrimp & salmon we’re floating in a very oily butter. So unappealing and unhealthy. I ate it anyway but wished I spoke up... hate to complain in front of my friend.
Used to be our very favorite restaurant when in Schaumburg.
We went during restaurant week and while only one of us indulged in the restaurant week menu; both entrees were pretty good. My beef medallions were a bit dry; however, the Brussels Sprout potato hash-like side dish with bacon was DELICIOUS! Service was good and the restaurant was very pleasant.
Went to celebrate a birthday before going to show. The food was good, not great, but it was the service that really disappointed. We asked for dessert and the check at 7:05 hoping to leave by 7:30. At 7:30 the dessert came out but it was the wrong one. We got the check and left.
Clearly the server was overwhelmed with people going to the show and service suffered accordingly. No need to hurry back.
Gruff, unfriendly service. Food took a long time to come out, and both my soup and beef were room temperature at best. Upon informing the waiter, he offered to reheat the entree... gee thanks, I can do that at home. Water service was non existent. Chicken entree wasn't available off the Restaurant Week menu, and it was day 1. Ordered coffee, and it never came, though the charge showed up on the bill. Overall, a huge swing and a miss. Definitely do NOT recommend.
Lobster Bisque soup was outstanding! Lunch entrees were good but I felt a little over-priced. I had the Seafood trio (4oz of salmon, 3 grilled (small) shrimp, 2 (small) stuffed shrimp, a scoop of potatoes, and some beans)...$28 plus $5 for the soup. Atmosphere is nice but rather quiet for 12:00pm on a Thursday. We had a group of 6 and are co-workers so made our own 'atmosphere' but there were less than 10 other guests in the entire restaurant at peak lunch time...perhaps an indication of prices.
The problem was steak was served medium to well done when I ordered medium rare. This is not exceptable for a steak house
I didn’t send back because it would just have been waist for the restaurant. For an excellent steak and sea food provider they should know exactly how to serve steaks
Food was very good. Some portions were pretty small, and the service was very slow. Lunch lasted almost two hours and this was due to the waiter rarely coming to the table, so it took a long time to get any requests (dessert, ordering, boxes). Finally had to flag down the hostess for to go boxes
I really wanted to like this place. I made reservations and then I read reviews on Google which were not very good. I also read reviews on OpenTable and those were better so I was really hoping that it wouldn't be bad. Well, it was. Probably the worst food we've ever had at a restaurant. We spent New Year's Eve at McCormick & Schmick's for dinner. The decor and Ambience are very nice. The food was horrible. It was barely warm and tasteless. We had four people in our party and everybody agreed that it was not good at all. The appetizer, the calamari was on the cold side soggy and without much taste. The steaks , again barely warm and not much taste. The shrimp scampi was almost not edible like it came from a can. The beef medallions were just warm, yet burnt. Service was slow but nice. Our server was pleasant. I almost have a feeling that she knew the food is not great since she never even asked how is everything? Usually servers do ask you about your food. On top of that it is severely overpriced. For that kind of money you should have been getting something that will satisfy you. Highly disappointed, we will not be back.
My wife & I ate here NYE. We were seated right away. I had the 6oz. Filet & my wife had the filet with a side of lobster. Everything was delicious, although the lobster portion was smaller than expected. Obviously, you understand going in M&S will be more on the expensive side. Nothing about our experience was bad but we didn’t leave feeling impressed enough to become regulars.
Ask for a booth along the wall. Intimate, quiet and romantic. Parking - comp valet - no problem. Food and service was very good. Our waiter was also very good. Brought in a bottle of Chimney Rock which was decanted and served expertly. Very enjoyable new years eve.
