McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Rosemont Ratings and Reviews
Food was great as always. I ordered a gin, basil, strawberry smash and I was brought a mojito with orange. I sent it back and got the drink I ordered. They had our party of 5 crammed in next to a large party of 10. The servers kept running into my chairto get around our table to the next. They spilled someone else's miso broth all over he table behind us and my jacket. Of course they said nothing. I asked 3 times for my parking to be validated. The sever never once brought me the validation. We ended up getting it from the host. Poor choice in seating and the server must be new as he tried to pass the mojito with orange off as my gin and strawberry drink.
A large group of 12 on a business meal is always a challenge for any restaurant. But after we made it past the two surly and somewhat discontent hosts at the front door, the experience was very good. Two pretty well experienced servers moved quickly to take our orders. Our food came quickly and except for the slight over cooking of a very nice filet, the food was excellent. Great experience and definitely return the next time we are in town.
Never knew Oysters Rockefeller took 45 minutes to prepare and kept getting excuses from the server who had an attitude every time I asked and politely joked with her. All three main courses were terrible, cold and old. I guess after 8PM they are all wiped out. That's what it felt like. It took 25 minutes for Bacon Wrapped Shrimp with cheese and Tuna Tartare that was a rip off terribly seasoned with this dry rub and very much over priced. My swordfish was terrible and tiny. The sesame crusted tuna as a main course tasted like the sesame seeds were old and they precooked the tuna on its side so it came out completely cold and sides were cold. My associates seafood trio was decent and he was starved from a long day on planes but mashed looked old and dryed out but he ate because he was starved. Never offered us bread. Also, your a high end seafood and steak house but you use European Butter blend for butter with bread instead of real butter at $50-$100 per person at a restaurant like this. Come on really!
Place was packed, server kept making excuses for not coming by - Price is Right and Jazz were in town. Took 30 minutes to get a glass of wine. Server was nice enough, but also too chatty. My husband loved his trout, my lobster cobb tower lacked flavor - seemed lettuce wasn't dry enough. Beautiful ambience, crazy traffic to get to that location on a Saturday night.
We celebrated my husband’s pre-birthday dinner this evening. We drove into the city, we live three hours away, through heavy traffic and frayed nerves checked into our hotel, which is located next to the restaurant. We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by a very friendly hostess who quckily seated us and carried on a very pleasant conversation. Our server was outstanding, he made excellent menu suggestions. We enjoyed a very pleasant well paced dinner which was very relaxing and made us forget about all the issues we faced earlier in the day. The food was prepared with high quality fresh ingredients which is why all the dishes we had were excellent. The meal was topped off by Creme Brûlée, which mad a great cracking noise and revealed the silky smooth custard which was paired with a mixture of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. I appreciate all that the restaurant did to make this a special meal celebrating my husband. I look forward to many more great meals at this restaurant. Thank you!
We had reservations for 7 for 5:30 and when we entered the restaurant it was relatively empty. Unfortunately several parties arrived within 15 minutes and it did impact the service. For our section it appeared that there was only one server assigned and she had difficulty maintaining the service I expect and Mc &S.
The food was well prepared but unfortunately delivered to the table in a span of about 5 minutes from first person to last.
I have been to this location a few times at this is not my normal experience or frankly I would not come back.
Willing to give them another try.
We came here for their Veteran's Day special dinner and we certainly appreciated that. It's nice to be recognized for our service. The food was good, even with the limited menu choices, which were still varied. The soup and salad were really good. However, our service was less than stellar. We had busboys and our waiter walk by our table at least 5 times, looking at our dirty dishes on the edge of the table, and never removing them. Our waiter was not attentive or even friendly. I watched as another waiter nearby was engaging and friendly with his tables. The service alone would be a reason not to return, considering the prices. We're not sure if he thought he would be getting less of a tip, although we always tip on the full price of our meal, which we did this night as well. Again, we appreciate the offer for Veterans, and we thank McCormick & Schmick's for doing this.
What a mistake. The server was not trained. First we ordered cocktails. He brought 2 first and after some time he brought the third one. The meal was not much better. he brought 2 entrees onewastotaly incorect. What the menu stated did not arive. We sent it back after awile he returned with the corect dish, I ordered Fish and Chips which came out cold and with 4 french fries. After wating another 10 minutes my entree came out. So if you do not wish to eat together with your party this is not the restaurant. This is not the first time to this chane but Rosemont is not one of their restaurants I plan on returning to especily foe three bhe bill was almost $200.00. The management should take notice of there servers and try something new like training.
My husband and I have a lovely time at lunch. We had lunch to celebrate my husband's military server at McCormick and Schmick's annual Veterans Day special event. The food was delicious and the servers were very friendly. It was our first time at the Rosemont location, we'll certainly be back.
Service was bad. The server (Miguel) clearly forgot that we reordered another round of drinks... then 20 minutes later (did not check on our table for that time during our meal to see if everything was fine) he saw us looking over at him then went to the bar. He came back to our table with our new drinks and gave a line that said "they ran out of grey goose and they had to run to the store". Any real establishment would 1) check their stock before they open (our reservation was at 7pm) or 2) come over and tell us that they were out of that vodka and ask if we wanted another brand. Mind you that my drink was wine (he could of right over 1 of our drinks). In addition, at the beginning of the meal, we mentioned our tree nut allergy when ordering our appetizer. He brought the dish and we re asked if it contained nuts. He said he would check with chef. He came back 6 mins later and said no nuts. Same instance with dinner when we ordered. I ordered the king salmon and mentioned the tree but allergy. When he delivered the food, I asked if it contained nuts. He said he would check with chef. He only had 2 other tables. It was not busy in there. We were celebrating our anniversary, neither the hostess nor waiter said congrats. When it's clearly marked on the open table recommendation area. Every other place we visit for our anniversary day or do something. We will not be back to this location.
The restaurant was very clean and the table settings were not overdone. The noise level was nice and low and you could carry on a conversation without straining to hear each other. The staff were very helpful answering all of my questions. I had the flounder which was cooked just right-not dry! The vegetables were crisp and the hot bread was an enticing plus. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and not over bearing. Great place for a lunch with special friends and family. This was my first time at this location.
DInner this night was very good, though not excellent. Started w the 10 greens chopped salad, which was outstanding. Not all salads are created equal, but this one was truly wonderful. I was a bit disappointed in my blackened whitefish. While everything on the plate tasted good, the blackened part, which I wanted to have a bit of a kick, did not. The mashed potatoes were very good, but couldn't really taste the andouille. Mostly what I remember, though, is a bit of a soft, mealy texture to the fish. I don't particularly like using that last word to describe the texture, but it's the best I can come up with. Being from the other side of Lake Michigan, I've had a lot of whitefish, and it's supposed to be a bit firmer and flakier than what I had. Again, all tasted good, but I had hoped for, and expected, more.
The restaurant was GREAT, but this open table crap with the number they need to put in the computer is RIDICULOUS, I was on the phone with them for 30 minutes, very Stressful, food was GREAT, service was GREAT the female manager with the long hair was very helpful🥂😊
Restaurant was fairly empty, and service was slow. 15 minutes after placing our order, we were notified that they couldn't prepare one of the dishes. Crab cakes were bland and soggy. Lobster Cobb salad was good. For the price, I don't think I would go back.
Service was horrible. We had to ask for silverware. We had to ask for bread. We had to ask for sweetener 3 times. It took almost 45 minutes for our entree to arrive. When it did, they were both cold. We sent both back to the kitchen and asked for our check. There was no charge.
We've been to many McCormick & Schmick locations, including this one in Rosemont several times. We were very disapppoimted this time. Food was just OK and service was subpar. Here are the major complaints: it took a long time and a reminder to get bread and the wine we ordered, one soup order never made it to the table, waiter seemed irritated at a question asked about an entree preparation, a wrapper was dropped on our table by a server walking past carrying dirty dishes (bringing this to attention of another staff member brought little response). We probably will choose another restaurant next time.
