McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Rosemont Ratings and Reviews
The problem was steak was served medium to well done when I ordered medium rare. This is not exceptable for a steak house
I didn’t send back because it would just have been waist for the restaurant. For an excellent steak and sea food provider they should know exactly how to serve steaks
Food was very good. Some portions were pretty small, and the service was very slow. Lunch lasted almost two hours and this was due to the waiter rarely coming to the table, so it took a long time to get any requests (dessert, ordering, boxes). Finally had to flag down the hostess for to go boxes
I really wanted to like this place. I made reservations and then I read reviews on Google which were not very good. I also read reviews on OpenTable and those were better so I was really hoping that it wouldn't be bad. Well, it was. Probably the worst food we've ever had at a restaurant. We spent New Year's Eve at McCormick & Schmick's for dinner. The decor and Ambience are very nice. The food was horrible. It was barely warm and tasteless. We had four people in our party and everybody agreed that it was not good at all. The appetizer, the calamari was on the cold side soggy and without much taste. The steaks , again barely warm and not much taste. The shrimp scampi was almost not edible like it came from a can. The beef medallions were just warm, yet burnt. Service was slow but nice. Our server was pleasant. I almost have a feeling that she knew the food is not great since she never even asked how is everything? Usually servers do ask you about your food. On top of that it is severely overpriced. For that kind of money you should have been getting something that will satisfy you. Highly disappointed, we will not be back.
My wife & I ate here NYE. We were seated right away. I had the 6oz. Filet & my wife had the filet with a side of lobster. Everything was delicious, although the lobster portion was smaller than expected. Obviously, you understand going in M&S will be more on the expensive side. Nothing about our experience was bad but we didn’t leave feeling impressed enough to become regulars.
Ask for a booth along the wall. Intimate, quiet and romantic. Parking - comp valet - no problem. Food and service was very good. Our waiter was also very good. Brought in a bottle of Chimney Rock which was decanted and served expertly. Very enjoyable new years eve.
First time at this location on a Thursday at 6:00 pm - not crowded. Parking was not convenient - had to pay in a nearby parking garage. Hostess was confused. I checked in and told her the rest of my party was parking. She seated me, but when my husband arrived he was told there was no reservation under our name. He eventually found me :) Food quality was very good, but not enough for the money paid - did not even get a bread basket. On the Open Table reservation, requested a booth - did not get one and that we were celebrating a birthday - no mention from waiter or staff. Overall a disappointing experience.
I made our reservation on Open Table, upon entering the restaurant the hostess was to busy to look up from her she phone to see us standing there, so after about 45 seconds she looks up and asked this questions “Have we been helped ?”
The food was good only two small things, the mashed potatoes I ordered came out very cold, the waiter did replace them. My date had a vegetable substitute, asparagus. But was charged 4.00 anyway. I did now understand that, be that as it may.
That was my experience
Soup was cold, filet mignon and lobster tails were not hot. They did not have butter for lobster on plate. Vegetables were not cooked through and cold. Empty pepper container on table. Waiter was no where to be found after the foosd was delivered. We were there 2 hours and only had the chance
To order one drink. Would not recommend this place to anyone. It is more expensive then Gibson’s and the food is no where as good.
Overall very nice. Here for Christmas early dinner as house being remodeled. I had been several times before for business lunches and dinners. Had to ask for water a few times even though was moderately busy not crazy busy. Food was tasty from appetizers through the entrée. Waiter was helpful and knowledgeable in explaining about appetizers. Only issue, but it was kind of a sticky point for us, was that my husband ordered a Margarita with no salt, the waiter acknowledged that point and both myself and our son heard it. The waiter was very nice when he brought the drink and my husband noted the salt . . . he apologized. Took at least 10 minutes to bring back another margarita and as soon as my husband tasted it he said they just wiped off the rim as he could still taste the salt. no good. we just left it as the waiter was friendly and it was Christmas and didn't want to make a big deal. If that hadn't happened would have given a 4 star for food, but that is just tacky for the prices at this restaurant and the type of restaurant it portrays itself as. I have given 5 stars before for restaurants and although the food at McCormick and Schmicks is indeed very good and staff very nice, just doesn't have that exceptional factor that makes a 5. It certainly fit the bill though for what we wanted for Christmas as it was close to the house and overall very nice.
It was strange that we were crammed into the center of the restaurant while outer tables were free. We had to lean to one side every time a staff needed to get by. if the restaurant were full, I could understand, but just one less table in the middle would have made things easier. It was so tight that our waiter opted to lean over the table to serve, so we had to clear away glasses or else he would knock things over.
Service was way too slow. Approx 15 minutes to receive a drink. When we finished dinner we sat for almost 30 minutes until my daughter put out her arm to stop our waiter to ask for a dessert menu. Then he presented the check before serving the dessert, as he suddenly wanted us out the door.
The poor service versus the absolutely fantastic food tilts my opinion towards PASS for a future visit. Our mood was ruined for the rest of the evening and that is just not forgivable. I hope that it was just a case of limited staff on Christmas Eve.
The food was great - as expected. The server was old and experienced, but couldn’t have cared much less about the six of us. She ridiculed my son for asking for too many (2) Coke refills. The bill was over $300 - you think she wouldn’t have minded the 20’ walk from our table to the Coke dispenser! Oh well, Bonefish is good too.
Lunch was good, restaurant was empty. Clam Chowder soup was average, but the lobster bisque was exceptional. Crispy fried shrimp was good but only received 5, thought that was skimpy lunch serving. Salmon entree was very good. Desserts exceptional along with the service. Nice selection of fish entrees but the portions are small.
I came to your restaurant with 12 Clients for a Client Appreciation dinner. We had been shopping all day at the near by Fashion Outlet and were looking for a nice place to relax, have dinner and talk. Our server was EXCELLENT! Food was yummy and drinks/beverages came out quickly. After ordering the food also came quickly considering there were 13 meals to prepare. Appetizers of Coconut shrimp, Calamari and Shrimp Kisses were hot and delicious as was the shrimp cocktail. I had the stuffed shrimp and loved it!Everyone enjoyed themselves. It was a Friday evening so the restaurant was busy and noisy, but would definitely recommend!
Thank you for making this a special night for my guests!
We had a business dinner here and the service was extremely slow. We didn’t get to order our main dishes for an hour and a half. One business partner’s meal was cooked improperly twice and unlike most fine dining restaurants not even just one of the two desserts were comped for the inconvenience of having my partner eat her meal after everyone else had already finished. The waiter was inattentive and forgetful. Not traits that are good for a business dinner where you don’t want to have to worry about getting ample sauce or a timely drink order in the middle of discussing business. The food was cooked well, but for the reasons above we will not be back.
