McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Rosemont
Tender steaks and fresh produce from local farms are featured and named on the menu daily - and our craft cocktails are popular every day of the week.
Please ask about our signature oysters, Johnny Shucks and Cali Kumu - they are carefully grown then harvested from private oyster beds exclusive to M&S.

Went for a date night after landing at O’hare. Very close to our hotel and was able to be seated right away. Good service, great for a date night, kinda dark and sexy, good service. Nice dinner for two.
Beautiful ambiance and food was fairly good. Stuffed salmon was good though a little bland. Blackened Mahi mahi was tasty and bread was great. Server was nice.
Not my first visit to MS but very dissatisfied this time. Husband asked for decaf tea, server said he doesn’t know if they have it. Then He said he knows they have tea but they don’t have decaf. Friend received decaf, husband received black tea. Dessert didn’t look anything like the picture. And I’m not being picky but it was not even close. Apple pie was not a slice I was a mush. The white chocolate mousse did not look like the pc either, could not see the fruits. Everyone in our party of 6 felt very stomach heavy later in the evening. Very overrated restaurant. Definitely will not return.
Took ~15 minutes to get a glass of wine at the table. They did not have 2 of their steaks that were listed on their daily menu ("ran-out" on a Saturday night?). After my suggestion, they gave me the bone-in filet mignon ($49) for the same price at the 13 oz steak ($39) however the steak was not juicy and it was overcooked. Very disappointing. They did not refill our water glasses. Salt shaker had some crusties on the top. Wait staff did not check on us very often. Only positive, the girlfriend liked the seabass. Would not go back, too many other better places to spend $150+.
We have been a few times in the past. Beautiful place, great food. Unfortunately that night the place was completely manic. Couldn’t even get acknowledged at the bar, much less order a drink. Once seated, our server was also rushing around like a short order waitress at Denny’s. Too bad it was so uncomfortable because the food was absolutely outstanding.
We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation; however had to wait 30 minutes before we were seated. Upon sitting, we had a dirty glass (which the server replaced with disgust.) The server was overwhelmed, very slow, etc. The food was good but not exceptional. For the price, there are dozens of better restaurants out there. We will not be returning.
Had a reservation and checked in early. Did not get seated for 25 min. That’s on management. While waiting for our reservation it took 15 min to get the bartender to take our drink order. They’re really good at avoiding eye contact. Waited 10 min to get my car from valet. It’s not that the workers were lazy-they we’re hustling. Way understaffed. That’s also on Management. Food was fine but overpriced for it’s quality. My steak was cooked appropriately but was warm, not hot; the lobster tail not even warm. Obviously the plate sat for a while before being served. There are many other options at this price point. Not likely to be back.
Worst experience ever...
Reservation 5:45pm we have to wait for our table till 6:20 pm
Slow waitress we wait 20 min to ordered... and after all we got just appetizer and wine next 20 min...
Our waiter was wonderful, however, the restaurant was severly understaffed. We first ordered drinks at the bar, which were awful and we were over charged. We order Bullet Old Fashions that were listed at $12 on the menu we were charged $15. It was straight bourbon with a cherry and an orange. The bartender did not use bitters or simple syrup like the cocktail menu said. At the table, our appetizers took 45 mins to come out. One was raw oysters, which do not require cooking and the other was seared ahi tuna, which tasted like it had been sitting under the warmer for a while. Our dinners were sub par as well. My fiancé’s fish was luke warm and lacked flavor. If we were not rushing to go to a concert we would have sent the entire meal back. However, even though we had a 5:30 reservation we had to rush out of there at 7:45 to make it to our 8:00 show. The dinner was not worth the $120 price tag. I would not go back to McCormic & Schmick’s not would I recommend it to anyone I know.
This is my honest feedback—I’ve waited tables in fine dining. I understand how overwhelming it can get sometimes. We sat at the bar until our table was ready—brought our tab with us which was suggested by the bartender. It took our server 20 minutes to even acknowledge us. We had to ask her for another drink. When we were served our food, it definitely was not brought to us right away. My salmon was at the least room temperature. Very disappointed. Then we had to ask for our check which in turn was given to us as a register tape receipt with a pen “sorry we ran out of books”. I believe, as through our whole dining experience, she could not handle her section. As highly recommended as this restaurant is, I know they would not train their waitstaff to treat their customers in this manner. Very disappointing.
Food was very good but nothing special as was the ambiance but disappointed in the lack of offerings. No specials on the menu and our waiter spent too much time trying to sell us on a rewards card.
Great food, terrific staff.. We really enjoyed this restaurant
Worst restaurant I have been to in the last 10 years. Ordered drinks, 35 minutes and 3 times asking before they arrived. 3 out of 4 meals arrived cold. They offered to reheat.... at this price point?! I can microwave food at home. So many better options in Rosemont. Look away, this is not the M&S of old or Downtown. Amateurs
Very nice experience as one should expect for a place like this
Overall the food was very good and the place was crowded, my only complaint is that I had reservations at 7 pm and had to wait an half hour before being seated.
Very nice ambience. Oysters were excellent. My wife ordered the blackened whitefish which was excellent. The andouille mashed potatoes were top notch. I had the cobia which was bland but cooked right. Service was prompt but mechanical.
The valet took forever and we were late for Elton John.
Excellent menu choices and delicious food (from appetizers to dessert) and wine.
There was a concert nearby, and the valet was extremely overwhelmed!
My boyfriend would have rated them higher but had a issue with his keys due to some confusion about the fob. Otherwise I really enjoyed our dinner!
The waitress forgot about our soup, I finally managed to get her attention and ask for our soups. She didn't even apologize simply stated she completely forgot about the soup. She didn't even offer to remove them from our bill. We finally got our soups and they were delicious but I would have appreciated a gesture or an apology.
Valentine Dinner. Had to ask for bread 3 times. I ordered a bowl of soup and server gave me a cup which was exchange for a bowl when mentioned. Dessert served without utensils and waited for 5-7 minutes until the server realized they forgot the utensils. Check was inaccurate, additional $50 in items were mistakenly added to our bill.
Clam Chowder & "Mixed Grill Deluxe" were excellent, but the other dishes were only warm. Food average.
The waitress was very nice. Unfortunately their signature drink looked nothing like their picture on the menu. I asked for medium well and came back medium closer to rare.
An excellent Valentine's Day experience. Delicious food, and highly professional service.
It was our first time to MS. We go to Steak/Seafood restaurants regularly. It took quite some time to be waited on after we were seated. Our reservation was early and it was not busy. Our waiter was incredibly polite but awkward. The flow of ordering was not smooth. The food was marginal. The 10 lettuce salad was good. If you are in Rosemont, go to Hugo’s at the Casino or Gibson’s. Much better food and overall service.
I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is outstanding both in taste and presentation. The service is excellent. The ambience tasteful and welcoming. You won't go wrong dining here for a wonderful lunch, dinner or special occasion. I highly recommend McCormick & Schmick.
Service was the best we have had in years. The food was good. But hated the email I got that we didn't keep our reservation. We spent $190 on a lunch. So yes we were there.
Executive resturaunt with unfortunate seafood for those with a per diem. Becoming typical of the Rosemont entertainment area.
My party of four came to celebrate birthdays. We had a reservation and were seated immediately in a booth as requested. It took the server 10 mins to greet us and take our drink order. It took another 15 mins to get our drinks. The food was ok but my scallops were overcooked.
Because the reservation asked if it was a special occasion and I had written it was a birthday celebration, I expected some kind of acknowledgment. But there was none.
We had fun but not because of the restaurant.
Everything was good but my steak was mildly overcooked asked for medium rare and I got medium. they did offer to change it out for me but I don't believe in wasting food and I know the other steak would have gotten thrown away so I accepted it as is and it was fine. Other than that the dinner the service everything was amazing.
Calamari and Oysters were okay. Steak and Poke was very good. Drinks were good. Overall a Happy Birthday.
Love the inside. Complimentary valet parking. Great food, wine and service..
I look forward to my next dining experience. It was unbelievably pleasant and the service was fantastic. Needless to say I am a regular customer and it gets better every time I visit.
It's an Old World Style restaurant, which is not bad. Unfortunately the food was just average, and not super fresh looking like it should be at an establishment in this price range. The waitress wasn't super friendly either and was not familiar with the menu. Just go across the parking lot at the Capital Grill. Better food and better service at similar prices.
Terrible service. Hostesses were rude and could not handle their job. No point in making a reservation because they don’t honor it. We left before begin sat after our reserved time
We were seated at a table with three people we did not know. We were a two person reservation and they were a three. We were seated first at a table for five and I kept saying we were a two person group. Finally we sat down thinking that you were giving us a larger table for no reason. Then you brought three people to our table. We ALL Said we are not with them and you seated them and walked away. Then I told the waiter we needed separate checks because we were not with them. He scowled and I said seriously we are not together. And he walked away.
I was not at a Benihana ???? When we left and told the hostesses and manager first we were told that did not happen. All 5 of us Sakai Yes it did. They were like you should have told is and we said we did! No one offered any compensation. I have Never have experienced anything like this. Fortunately we all five got along and did not want to be rude with the other people but seriously??.
Everything about this place was great. Service, food, drinks. The prices were very reasonable. We would return if ever in the area again.
Good food.waitress excellent.food presentation very good. We will definitely come back.
The service was a little slow. Food was good, but dessert was very dry and seemed old (carrot cake)
