Birthday dinner. Everything was good except for the loud music. Very difficult to converse and enjoy the moment with all the music blaring.

The water was served in a big glass bottle and we got charged $7 without telling us...more expensive than two cups of cocktail $3/each

HORRIBLE. The worst food and service. A massively important customer dinner for 9 people. SLOW doesn't even describe the glacial pace...45 min to even get a bread basket. Note this was the kitchen and management (or lack thereof) not the waitress. Drinks when they arrived we wrong - the waitress actually asked if one of our party wanted their martini "sweet" - huh? The appetizers were average at best; this included the lobster bisque I ordered which was delivered without a spoon. 8 minutes later it was as lukewarm as the ribeye they brought later. We spoke to the manager - they literally sent someone junior over not the real manager!! It was the worst most expensive meal in a 30 year career. This company should be absolutely ashamed.

We enjoyed our dinner but were seated next to the bar and the noise level was very loud. Our waiter was attentive but we ended up with the wrong drinks and, although delicious, the food portions seemed smaller than they used to be.

A nice, not-overcomplicated menu of seasonal and other specials. I had the Hawaiian Tuna which as cooked perfectly, served on wasabi mashed potatoes. Really enjoyed it and there was exactly the right portion. I started wit the seasonal green salad which was fresh and a perfect compliment to the main meal. Wine selection decent but not extensive.

I have been a long time diner at McCormick and Schmick's, which makes this even harder. My last two meals-one in Tysons, one at Reston Town Center both left something to be desired--service. The service on both occasions was poor at best. My most recent visit to RTC a few weeks ago was head-scratching. I had a guest from Brazil and she requires gluten free food. We asked twice for the gluten free menu. Once received we both ordered the same fish, one from the gluten free menu and one from the regular menu. When the food arrived, they were both the same--the waiter told her it was gluten free but we knew better. After a bit of conversation they took her food back and then we sat there and sat there waiting for her correct dish to arrive. The manager came by and we caught his attention, he immediately checked on where her dish was and it arrived shortly thereafter. At the end the waiter brought us a creme brûlée (delicious) for our trouble but ...whether someone has health issues or not are they not there to assist us in having a pleasant meal? Very disappointed.

We ordered the entree of ahi tuna and a ribeye steak. At that point the server should have told us the tuna would be sliced paper thin and you get about 6 pieces. He should have said if we were looking for something more steaklike, the special tuna was a steak. At least set some expectation. When the entrees arrive we sat bewildered at the dish in front of us. We thought maybe he rung up the appetizer so we check the description. Nope that was the entree. This meager slice of tuna was a meal. We didn’t want to be rude and send it back so we at it. I felt guilty that I was eating a steak and my partner was eating what was basically 5 quick bites. The cost was about $30 for this “meal”. The appetizer of tuna was $15. I would be horrified to see what you get for $15. The restaurant should put on their menu a description of how little you get or the server should confirm the amount of the order. If you go, don’t order the ahi tuna as a meal and expect to leave full.

My wife and I went there for our second wedding anniversary. They asked us what the occasion was when we made the reservation. I do not know why because they gave us a table closest to the door. They did not make the night special at all. Why ask what the occasion was for? Upon receiving our food, I got a center cut ribeye medium rare. It was a thin overcooked piece of meat. The manager looked surprise at the cut of meat himself. They then remade me a new steak. However this time it was completely raw. Third time was the charm. Unfortunately my wife was done eating before I even took my first bite. 40$ for a USDA choice piece of meat? I don't get why it cost so much. Not going back....ever.

Wonderful private atmosphere with tables that are In cubicles. Kind of a limited menu. Swordfish was exceptional. The almond encrusted trout was tasteless and a very large piece. The veggies and orzo were also tasteless. We have eaten at this chain for many years in various locations and the menu seems to be tired. They do procure from local farms but the recipes need to be updated. Service was good.

Great seafood variety with very high quality on each of the entrees. This good food when combined with excellent service at a reasonable price makes this M&S a good place to dine at.

The restaurant had a challenging evening. Seated, then moved our family group of 6 to another table because the waiter assigned to that table hadn’t yet come to work. Then unable, after 20 minutes, to find the ordered wine. The waiter eventually brought a bottle of a different vintage, and when I declined that and ordered a different wine, it then took 10 minutes to bring the replacement. Food quality - both steaks and seafood - were excellent but one steak ordered medium rare was vastly over cooked. Given the difficulty, it would have been reasonable for them to comp a dessert or coffee but no such offer was made. The just-closed M&S Grill across the street seems to have merged some staff and management, so perhaps that accounts for some of the glitches. But it’s something that needs attention.

McCormick and schmicks food is always consistently good. We enjoyed the oysters, lobster meal for my husband and crab and filet meal for myself. I'm not sure if it was because it was New Year's Eve and a. Jay evening, but the service was very slow and seemingly disorganized this night. Small details over the course of the evening that all added up. Not enough to deter us from coming back as I mentioned- it's usually always a great meal and great value overall

Our party of four had a great meal on New Years Eve. We were placed in my least favorite room, but the noise level was moderate, which mattered most. Entrees were steak (grilled to medium), which was excellent; the diner wished there were more it was so good, I wished I had one myself. Two of us had the seafood trio, which was very good, though the green beans were undercooked, hard to cut or chew. Roasted potatoes were good, unexpectedly mixed with squash. Waiter was not particularly helpful in that regard. Another had the cedar salmon, which was excellent. She wished it had more of the fruit sauce, I had a taste and didn't prefer the sauce, excellent as it stood. Wished the salmon I cook at home was as perfect throughout. The side (extra charge) of mashed potatoes with cheese and bacon was superb.

No hiccups in the service or food; we will go back for another special occasion, even if it is just getting together with important friends.

Worst experience we've had in years. First time here, as well. We literally waited 30 minutes for our cocktails and 20 minutes for just water. We are okay with waiting; as we understand the business. But 30 minutes just for a cocktail??? Even went to host and they said we would receive a new server, but the same server came. Restaurant was not busy. Best part of the meal were the cocktails that took 30 minutes, but wait...they were incorrect when he finally brought them. Didn't acknowledge my wife's birthday and never checked back on anything. Birthday was even in OT notes. No one said goodbye as we left. We will never go back.

Went there for our annual Christmas family dinner. We got a private quiet booth where we could talk in a normal voice without having to shout over the crowd.
I got the oysters Rockefeller and crab cakes, my wife got the scallops. Everything was delicious.
