Third time at the restaurant, and each time previously we had a great time. This time - the hostess tried to put my wife and I at a table for six after walking past three open booths. We asked for a booth and were seated in one. The bar was exceedingly slow - for our glass of house wine and draft beer - our waiter came by twice apologetically. Food (mine was fantastic - (Swordfish), my wife's has the beef medallions - very chewy. Recommendation - if you go to a fresh seafood restaurant, stick to the seafood menu. Still love the restaurant and we will be back.
The best thing about our dining experience was the service and the attention to detail. The server was extremely knowledgeable about the specials and the menu items. He recommended a wonderful Chenin Blanc that I truly enjoyed. We found the entrees to be fine, but not great. We had the king crab legs, which tasted fishy, and the blackened Mahi, which we couldn’t tell was blackened. I mentioned the crab leg taste to our server and the manager was very kind and offered us a dessert to accommodate us, which was nice. The best items we had were the crab dip appetizer and the chocolate bag dessert. Ovewrall, it was a nice dining experience, but not worth the $ for the entrees.
Made our anniversary very special with 'VIP' seating and special attention with terrific service.
Great dining experience. The food was amazing with some great options. The fresh Salmon was excellent. Not heavy, but great tasting and nice portion size. We had an excellent server. Will definitely go back.
Went with my wife for our wedding anniversary. The seafood was fantastic as always. I had swordfish and she had Alaskan king crab. The crab dip appetizer was delicious.
Manager and bartender both super friendly and talkative gave great suggestions for lunch
We had dinner on a Wednesday night to enjoy the $1 oysters and shrimp. I ordered a side of vegetables and my husband ordered a wedge salad to eat along with our oysters and shrimp and everything was delicious. The service was also very good.
Great food and the best service in pretty well any restaurant I've eaten at in the Raleigh Durham area!
Generally, the food was very good, although some entree portions were scanty. Our appetizer (Shrimp Kisses) were overcooked. Service was very efficient and friendly. Ambiance was very well well done.
Food was good, Service was a little off but we will go back there again.
A few friends decided to get together for Happy hour. I didn't know you had to sit in the bar area. Its not for me mind you, but it wasn't all that bad. I'm not a bar girl. But we enjoyed our outing. The happy hour choices were pretty nice; plus I also ordered form the dinner menu. Needed some chocolate!! The Happy hour menu needs some sweets on it!! overall! it was very nice..
Don't order a steak here. The seafood is great but the steaks are not thick and are never cooked correctly the first time.
Unfortunately, the food was only average and the meal was mostly disappointing. I suggested this restaurant and expected a nice experience and we didn't have it. The bar area is nice, and the server was friendly and efficient. The wine by the glass selection was limited. We started with a glass of wine until time for our reservation, and had no issues. We were seated promptly, but it went downhill from there. The server forgot our water/bread request a couple times, then he had to apologize for a slow kitchen a couple times, and when our entree arrived an hour later, the stuffed shrimp were cool and had to be replaced. Honestly, I think the Manager microwaved them and brought them back out, it was so quick. The artichoke dip app was tasty, and some aspects of the meal were good, but it was overall a disappointment. When the check arrived, we definitely didn't feel that we received value for the price.
Service was great - special thanks to Lisa! Our family dinner was delicious, everyone adored their choices.
I thought the food was very good however the portions were rather small for what you pay for the entree
Food and service were great. Music choice and volume didn’t match the feel of the restaurant.
Reunion with family member
I had a wonderful experience and my waiter was extremely personable. His recommendations were absolutely perfect and the chef prepared the food as advertised.
Our server Keith was the best! One of our party, a child, wasn’t happy about her selection. Keith made suggestions and unhappy child became a very happy child. Very patient and accommodating.
I enjoyed my meal at McCormick and schmick, although he pace of our meal was slower than I prefer.
Valentines dinner. The main dining room was very noisy but food was very good.
Parking and traffic are a real problem for this location. It is nice that they have valet parking but that isn't always for everyone. The parking decks below are a good addition but the problem of getting into the mall is still problematic.
A high end place with food to match for the most part (everything was perfect, except my broccoli which was a bit over cooked, but I was not bother too much, I was there for the seafood).
They have a great cocktail menu, wonderful seafood, tasty (if odd) appetizers (they have a calamari with fired vegetables mixed in, a bit odd if you are not expecting it, but not terrible). and a wonderful dessert menu (we could not take advantage of as we were too full).
I will say I wish the server was a bit clearer when she asked for our soup order that it was an add on, and not part of the meal (the soup was very good, I had clam chowder, my date the lobster bisque. Both were great). The soups were good, I just would have liked to know I was going to pay an extra 17$ for them (again though, worth it).
Over all - it was a good meal and our server was rather charming.
Very good seafood. This is probably our favorite seafood restaurant in Raleigh. It's a little pricey, but the atmosphere is nice and the food is very good. We've dined here twice and the food was great both times.
This place is pretty upscaled... The seafood trio was really delicious... REALLY delicious. I'd go here again.
Service and Ambiance was great! Fast service and friendly waiters. Appetizers were delicious, but main courses were disappointing.
My wife and I enjoyed our Valentines dinner. We were able to talk to each other without yelling. Staff was friendly. Looking forward to going back.
I was very disappointed that we were not seated at one of the private/curtained tables as we made a reservation for it and specifically requested it almost a year in advance. During our first visit to M&S (around March 2017) we were told we could reserve one of the private tables for VDay.. which is what we did. The staff did not try to accommodate us after explaining this to them. Aside from that, the food that we waited so long for was cold, especially the mashed potatoes. We were very disappointed at our Valentine's Day visit after having such an amazing first cost almost a year prior.
Valentine’s Day with the family.
Good evening out at an excellent restaurant.
Service was not the best. Food was pretty good. Too large a facility for an intimate dinner. Good variety of fishes.
Not likely to return any time soon.
Totally enjoyed the experience!!! Food was very good. Service was excellent!!! Atmosphere was warm and inviting!
Excellent service, delicious food.
What a really great evening. Service from the moment we entered until the moment we walked out was spot on. Dinner tonight was superb. Mike was an awesome server giving my sister and I plenty of time to talk and eat. Those Shrimp Kisses were awesome! Thanks for a great evening!
We decided to go to McCormick’s on Sunday to beat the Valentine’s Day crowd. It was well worth it. The food was excellent, our waiter Mike was great. He was very knowledgeable of the menu. Our early Valentine’s Day was great.
My waitress was really great. The steaks were awesome. The only thing that i did not like was the lobster tail. It came out cold and i just dont think its worth its value.
The salmon was really good but a kind of small. I will return for my next date night.
We had a very attentive waitress who was a bit overworked as it was not easy to get water refills. She was pleasant and knowledgeable and was really trying to meet our needs. We were sitting near the front door so the people getting checked in and the staff calling to other staff about tables being ready was a bit noisy and a distraction. The food was ok, not excellent, and thus I don't feel it was worth the amount of money we spent.
Bad dining experience with slow service and had to ask for things two or three times ... restaurant was not full. Food was just OK. The only way to get a fried shrimp and oyster combination was to pay for each oyster individually ... crazy.
Watched staff wipe dirty tables, then use the same dirty cloth to wipe soiled place mats, then place clean silverware on the place mats just wiped with the dirty towel. Disgusting.
Will not be returning to this restaurant & will not recommend.
