McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Raleigh - Crabtree Mall Ratings and Reviews
We have been to this location many times, food is always good, this time the service was not as good as we have experienced before. Wait time for a server to come to our table was slow, we ordered soup, our server brought that, then brought an appetizer to our table we did not order, then another server brought a meal to our table that was not ours. Again, the food is always good, but there was a lot of confusion from the servers and we were there at 6pm so it was not that busy. Will we go back? Sure. Hope next time we have that 5 star service we have experienced before.
We were here to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. The staff greeted us upon arrival with congratulations and gave us a very romantic booth. The food was great as well as the service. It was a very enjoyable experience and we would love to visit again for our next special event..
I called the night I went to dinner to make a reservation for dinner for a table of 7, they said they were all full. I went on opentable and made a reservation there.. not full. We showed up for dinner and the restaurant was 25% full. Why are they turning away large tables? Our server was very nice but would disappear for 20 minutes at a time and left us with empty glasses. He smelled of smoke so I guess he was taking long cigarette breaks. I paid 33 or so dollars for 4 scallops the size of a silver dollar on top of hashbrowns. I should have asked how many came on it. The lobster bisque was great.. however a 'bowl' is around 10 ounces, and well over 10 dollars. They act like they're serving this food on golden plates with these prices, all while turning people away with flat out lies that they are full, with servers disappearing for 20 minutes. Never going back if I have a say in it.
I'm new to the area and was trying new places. Since I love seafood, McCormick & Schmicks was on my bucket list. Our waitress recommended the crabcake when I asked her about it. She said it was her favorite. Had it with a delicious side of orzo squash and homemade pickles. All three items scored high w/ me. I also ordered a flute of proscecco--which arrived FLAT, not one bubble. I asked the waitress for a fresh pour, pointing out that no bubbles meant their open bottle was too old to serve. She quickly returned w/ a fresh glass. I won't hold the bad wine against them, as they quickly rectified the problem. But, they should never serve old wine for $9 a glass. The food and wine are pricey, so for me, this will be for special occasions. But I think my lunch was worth the $39 I paid, which included my 20% tip. Definitely make a reservation, so you will be seated quickly and enjoy. We did❤️.
The food was just mediocre and way over priced. Our server, although friendly, appeared very inexperienced. We had two steak orders (same steak, cooked differently) which she served to wrong people. They didn't realize it until they were about 1/3 through. Also they ordered asparagus as a side for the steaks, and then when the steaks came, they were served with asparagus. For a $40 steak it looks like she could have suggested they select a different side or at least mentioned that the steaks came with asparagus! About half way through the meal we order additional glasses of wine. They weren't served until we had completely finished our meals and were ready for a bill. Total bill, including tip, was almost $300 for 4 people and was definitely not worth it. We will not go back.
We had a wonderful dinner here, and truly enjoyed the food. The fish, shellfish and steak was over the top. We were a bit surprised that the restaurant didn't offer us a dessert or drink or ANYTHING, after someone spilled a drink all over my husband.....yes, shirt, pants, shoes....
I was looking for mid-level pricing for celebrating a special occasion, without sacrificing substance. I booked reservations after a quick search, and then found out I had friends who had been there. They quickly confirmed that I would enjoy my experience as the food and service are hard to beat. Our experience was great- great food and great service. Really nice portion sizes, so it is a good value. I look forward to returning.
We were in town for the Thanksgiving and ate here with another family for the holiday. The restaurant and staff was patient with our group of 6 kids and 4 adults, the service was amazing, and the food was very yummy and traditional - the perfect Thanksgiving meal. I'll think twice before making a big meal at home again - this experience was perfect and a game changer for us!
We’ve been going here for years. The last time we went it was horrible. This time my spinach was TOO salty and when the kitchen sent the replacement it was not salted at all and FULL of garlic pieces. My husbands sandwich came with the onion and tomato that he specifically told them to leave off and the food took about 25 minutes to come out. As you can see my plate wasn’t as presentable as it should’ve been.
Great first experience with this restaurant. Great pick to celebrate our first anniversary. Staff could not have been more welcoming, constantly congratulating us on our anniversary on the way in, during meal, and on way out. My wife even had 3 staff members (including the manager) go out of their way to assist her in finding the restroom when she had no idea where it was (without her even asking might I add).
Food was great, and the ambiance is what you would expect on a date type of night (curtains can be closed at booths).
