Great food and great Service front door staff and waiter had a very great time with my friends The crab cake appetizer was to die for very good
Going to the symphony downtown, we added the restaurant to relax before time.
It was refreshing and the food excellent.
Food and service was excellent. Not sure why with a 4:15 reservation you would seat another party in the booth behind us when the restaurant was empty at that time. The loud couple behind us took away from the atmosphere we were hoping for.
The food and service was excellent. We enjoyed a quiet dinner. However, the handicap entrance was not functioning and we were only able to enter the restaurant because another patron exiting the restaurant helped us get in.
The food was good, but not a great value for the price. The big issue for our table was that the floor was clearly understaffed, with too few servers racing around and trying to keep up.
Server forgot to bring our soup/salad. Brought entrees our first. Fixed mistake, and immediately took them off our bill.
Service was great ! Food too !
We arrived about 25 minutes early for our reservation and were seated right away. Thank you!
The food was very good, as always.
Atmosphere pleasant, quite enough to have a normal conversation, with a nice selection of music playing in the background.
Service was good, but could have been a little more attentive. The wait for the check was a bit long.
The service was good. Nothing about the food had a wow factor and it was definitely overpriced. The lobster bisque was just ok, but it was missing... lobster! For $15 a bowl and $8.5 a cup I expected much more. My shrimp and crab stuffed salmon was more like a 6 0z piece of salmon drizzled with A shrimp and crab sauce baked on top. Service was friendly. I definitely wouldn't go back for any special occasions. Seemed like a good happy hour place for appetizers.
The food and service were wonderful - service was attentive and food excellent -thanks for a nice evening.
Service was perfect! Food was excellent! So close to the benedum center... easy 5 minute walk, maybe less... Will definitely be back. Thanks for a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Went to dinner after the ballet. Was disappointed to see there were no options on the menu for chicken. I checked on line menu specifically for McCormick & Schmick's in downtown Pittsburgh. Blackened chicken was listed as an option, however, the menu had no chicken options listed. Two of my guests had to settle for salads. Another one of my guests was missing walnuts from her salad. We mentioned to the waiter and he brought her some.
Great setting, waitress was extremely polite and courteous, but failed to listen to requests, which became a little embarrassing after the fact. Price vs. quantity could be better!!
Food was good but found a tip of a lobster claw in my crab cake?? My wife's scallops had a shell which she bit into. For price of meals here we would not expect such things. Manager came over an apologized but that was all. Lots of high end sea food restaurants in the area. Will not be revisiting.
We ate outside, so the noise level was as expected. Our waitress was great and was on her game. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. I got the Chilean sea bass. It was the BEST sea bass I have ever eaten. My meal came out with steam still coming off of it!!!! The portion was huge and the fish was so very flaky. Plain and simple—it was over the top. My husband had the salmon and was also very very pleased.
Recently, we were at the Grand Concourse for dinner and also Eddie V’s. I would chose McCormick and Schmick’s over both of these establishments because the food was absolutely delicious!!!
Thank you for a beautiful meal and dining experience!
I had the Ultimate Mixed Grill and it was overcooked by a half hour. The Crab Cake had zero moisture and the Salmon and Shrimp was like eating jerky. The service was great, ambiance great, all else was good but the food absolutely sucked. Considering the bill was over $300 for 3 people you can find much better choices downtown. I was there Tuesday night the 7th of May.
Good meal with good ambiance.
Service was great! The server recommended a wonderful dish for dinner. Dessert was slightly disappointing since the expectation was not met. I was intrigued and had to try this chocolate bag from the menu. What was delivered to my table was not at all what the menu showed! I felt for the price and the expectation of dessert this was a let down.
1st: Service was abysmal. Waitress, when she did appear, was rushing us, rude, and overall having a bad day. She was unprofessional and lackluster to say the least.
2nd: Food was awful. I ordered the bone-in-ribeye and my wife and joked that it looked like something from a family style diner (bob evans, Cracker Barrel, etc). It was over done and very thin.
My wife ordered the ahi tuna in which parts were disgustingly slimy and others tasted very old and stale.
Overall: will not return. The price point of this meal for the service and quality was outrageous. What should have been a $40 meal was well over $150 for terribleness.
Excellent food! Wonderful service.
It was gift card from Christmas. We enjoyed the meal. We were seated at a table for 2 between. Two large parties so it was noisy and hard to talk
As we are not from the area and not close at all, spent lots of time googling for a nice place for dinner in celebration of my son graduating from the University of Pittsburgh! I finally had made a reservation at McCormick & Schmicks Seafood, and so glad I did! The atmosphere was inviting, the food was delicious, and our server was great, attentive, and fun, we really enjoyed ourselves.
Impeccable service but I was disappointed with the food. I thought the mashed potatoes would have more texture and the salmon would be generously topped with crabmeat & shrimp.
Love this place. Food and service is consistently great!
The oysters were especially fresh tasting. The bone in ribeye was very good and evenly cooked. Would go back again.
I had to send my meal back because it was overdone. Even the chef agreed and personally made my replacement. Unfortunately it was not nearly as good as the dish at other restaurants.
The waitress was okay, but quite slow o bring condiments (e.g. more butter).
I’ve had delicious meals with great service at M&S, so this experience was surprisingly disappointing.
7 of the 8 meals were great. The eggs Benedict were not good. Very little hollandaise sauce and the muffins were so hard to be inedible. However the lobster tails, French toast, salmon, and crab legs were fabulous. The “chocolate bag” dessert was a big hit with the children!
We have dined at this location in the past. Tonight we took friends who had never been to a M&S. Very nice experience. Our friends loved the lobster bisque. I thought my bluepoints were small. That was the only disappointment.
Had dinner before heading to the Cher concert. Excellent, timely service and good food. Thanks for a great start to the evening.
Great food as usual. Comfortable atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Our server was over the top awesome...He paced out meal wonderfully as we indicated we had to leave by a certain time....if was not at all rushed yet timely...he would be the primary reason that I would want to go back...the menu felt somewhat limited...
It’s been a while since I’ve dined at Pittsburgh’s M&S and I was impressed. The service was exceptional, the manager Dan, came over to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I ordered the sea scallops and our server recommended a great wine. A very enjoyable experience - I left fat and happy.
The salmon and the shrimp were both excellent. We like the decor but it’s a bit noisy. We will come back!
Our visit to McCormick & Schmick's made our celebration extra special. Thank you to everyone who took part in our luncheon.
Great food and wonderful service
Only issue was that the table for 4 was very small.
As soon as we arrived we were seated right away, and we were early for our reservation. The waiter was very attentive had great suggestions for appetizers. Our drinks were delicious .we decided to split a salad and the kitchen had it split in two already for us! My boyfriend got the swordfish and scallops that came with a side of green beans and mashed potatoes. Very great value and a great dinner. I got the fillet and shrimp. The waiter is the one who mentioned my steak being over cooked, brought a new one out fresh for me. I definitely suggest the Apple pie dessert, great finish to a great meal! Definitely recommend, it is expensive but you definitely get what you pay for and we expected to spend a little more than we are used to! I do recommend making reservations, we went on a Sunday evening but I can see it being very busy Friday and Saturday nights.
The food was horrible. The server was not on point; very distracted. Don’t go there.
Great food and great service. Food was excellent and prepared fresh to my liking. Will be returning in the future.
Good service and excellent food. Very reasonable wine list.
