McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Pittsburgh Downtown Ratings and Reviews
I dined here pre-theater with my 7-year-old son. They have a great children's menu, which is not something you see at many fine-dining establishments. Our server was very kind and attentive, and, while I am not overwhelmed by their menu choices (I prefer less traditional cuisine,) I enjoyed what I ordered, and my son's fish and chips were very good. Overall, I would definitely recommend it for a place downtown where you can go with children!
Reserved a table at noon for a business meeting. We were seated, ordered our drinks and meals by 12:10pm. It took 30 minutes just for our lobster bisque to arrive then another 35 minutes for our meals to arrive. This is after I asked twice for our server to check on the meals. The service itself was not bad and the food was exceptional, but it should not take this long for a lunch especially when the restaurant was not full.
The Thanksgiving dinner was disappointing. The turkey had that definite reheated flavor. The dry tasteless dressing was served on the opposite side of the squash which was the best thing on the plate. The turkey needed more gravy and no extra gravy was offered. A small loaf of bread was served for four people and had to be requested. The server seemed overwhelmed. The best thing about the meal was being with our son and daughter-in-law. We went to this restaurant because they recognize the armed forces on Vets Day
It was too busy for the amount of staff. We waited over 45 for our meal after we received our soup and had to ask multiple times for things we needed like bread, cranberries, gravy.....
A group that came in after us had their meals long before we did and their group was as large as ours.
you could tell the restaurant just couldn’t keep up. We had thanksgiving dinner at another McCormick’s two years ago and our experience was much better.
Love location in Inner Harbor was so excited to find this ny our hotel and left so disappointed!
No seasoning on anything. Salmon for my 11 month old was raw. Mashed potatoes tasted instant. I've had better better potatoes at Bob Evans than what came with my husband's crab legs that also was not fresh and tasted off.
Shrimp kisses cheese wasn't even melted.
For almost $200 was so disappointed and left hungry. Not worth this location at all.
We had our family Thanksgiving Dinner at McCormick & Schmicks. One of my parents favorite places to eat. This was in honor of my mother who passed last year. The food and service were excellent. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating with our request.
Our server Anna was amazing! She was extremely knowledgeable on food ingredients, and very helpful when we asked for gluten free menu items (due to Celiac condition). Also, we mentioned we were going to the theater afterward and she did a fabulous job at bringing our meals without rushing us and leaving enough time for us to get to the theater on time. The food was delicious (she advised us on some great options and everyone loved their meals. We had ahi tuna appetizers and clam chowder; delicious! Some ordered the halibut and fish and chips; loved those, and I picked the crab meat and shrimp stuffed North Atlantic salmon (in the past it was "Faraoe Island salmon") and finished every bit of it! (although I did miss the gentle flavor of the Faroe Island salmon).
Highly recommend this restaurant!
Very disappointed. We went there to celebrate my birthday. It took forever for our server to arrive, then forever for her to bring our drinks. We had to ask several times for bread. My husband’s order was wrong, so he had to wait longer. The server mentioned nothing about my birthday. The host brought the menu rolled up in ribbon. We received no credit for the poor service and nothing for birthday but menu. I won’t be going back.
Four of us went to M&S's recently. Our waiter was polite and professional but not all that friendly. Our food was a mixed bag. One person had beef medallions. They were good but more sauce was needed. I had salmon which was very good but the risotto was not. My husband had the seafood trio - two of the three were very good but shrimp was overcooked.
The staff was extremely helpful, and did a great job. The waitress was very responsive and she had some pretty good suggestions. Overall the experience was pretty good. The price for the quality of food was not on par. The steak I had was good, but for the price could have definitely been better. My better half had the shrimp scampi and said that it was ok, but not terrific. I did however enjoy the cocktail that I ordered. It was very well prepared, and even though it was $13 I ordered 2 and would definitely go back for one again. The ambiance was very romantic. The lighting was dimmed but it was plenty light enough to have a good conversation while catching the sparkle off of your loved ones eye. Overall, the staff was terrific and the cocktails were good, but in the end of the day, the food was mediocre at best for the price.
Wow, what a great meal. I had the sesame crusted salmon with the pancetta, mushroom risotto. Wow, that was an excellent meal. The waiter suggested an excellent Pinot noire to pair with the meal. From the hostess to the waiter to the manager they were all friendly and service oriented. Can’t wait to go back!
Cedar planked salmon was sent back not once, but twice because it was undercooked. The first time it was just warm and undercooked, second time, hot and undercooked. It was not flaky as it should be, but mostly raw. The waitress agreed and was very apologetic, particularly since the other person by this point had finished their meal. We were sent home with a third salmon dinner, which was cooked properly this time. Not sure what the problem was, but it put a damper on the whole dining experience.
Very disappointing. Caesar salad excellent but trout very dry and unappetizing . Clam chowder and shrimp scampi ok but nothing to write home about. Before we were ready to leave a group of about 25 were seated next to us and making so much noise we had to quickly vacate. Not a pleasant dining experience .
