Excellent food as always. The staff was just wonderful.
Mother’s Day day was supposed to be a nice event with my wife who is new mother and my mother. The place was packed, waited to be seated with a reservation. No problem. It was quite loud, again, not a big deal.
The service however ... was a lot to be desired. Had to wait 2hours for our main course while the other table after us got their food. My little 11 month did quite well after 2 hours but we didn’t expect to be there past that. Steak was not cooked enough, deserts came out incorrectly. Waited for a spoon to eat my now melted icecream for 5min and got up and spoke to the manager who didn’t have time for me. Spoke with a friendly assistant manager instead. No compensation other than to let them know next time I’m in for a meal. So I suppose that’s better than nothing if there is a next time. For the money I spent, and the experience we received, we all laughed and felt like we would have had a better experience at Applebee’s. What happened to this place?
We came for Mother’s Day. It was extremely crowded which resulted in a long wait for food which was warm, but not hot. We had the price fix meal which was a good value for the restaurant, but not as good as expected.
The service was very slow, food was good, not great. The ribeye looked like it was pounded. Just overall not good for the price you pay.
I enjoyed my Mother’s Day lunch
At McCormick & Schmicks. Even though it was a limited menu, everyone had a very nice meal
The service was beyond poor and highly unacceptable. This was a college graduation celebration completely ruined by a very rude waitress....3 wait staff for the night. We arrived at 7:45 pm and had to request service multiple times. We were finally able to order around 9:45 pm or so. I requested personalized menus both via open table and calling to confirm via phone twice and they were not available at dinner. When making the reservation I called in to find out what the corking service fee would be; I was told $10. When four bottles were put on the table for corking service the rude waitress told us $25. I advised her that this was not the price that was quoted and requested that she check on this which she did not. I spoke with the front hostess and she informed me that we will be charged at $10. The waitress came back again to open the bottles and stated once again that it would be $25.This is where the first change in waitresses took place. I could go on and on about our experience however I just do not have the time to go into it. I will say that the saving grace for this restaurant was the last waiter, the front desk hostess who did speak with the manager, and also requested the general manager come over to speak with me. The general manager was more than understanding and kind enough to comp the entire bill. However my daughter’s graduation dinner was completely ruined. We even had guests leave due to feeling uncomfortable and profiled. I really am very disappointed not to mention embarrassed.
Amazing! Always a great place to celebrate a special day. The food and drinks were amazing, however the service was a little slow. We assumed that they were extremely understaffed and weren't too upset, but we were there for almost 2.5 hours. Other than the service everything was amazing!!
Service was great! Food was just okay. Mashed potatoes do not go with fish - ever.
Very good visit for a Mothers Day getaway. The service and food were all excellent.
Service was good. Stuffed salmon had barely any stuffing on it. Really disappointing but the salmon was good. Mashed potatoes tasted instant really disappointing for a higher class restaurant.
Bar took 25 minutes to get us our drinks, then the food took an another hour to come and some were right some were not. Two of the steaks that were ordered medium rare came back well done. The service was horrible for how much we paid.
Always a good place to eat- Food and service is always good.
A fantastic place to have a high quality meal in a quiet atmosphere at a reasonable and fair price. Quality service!
It was my sons 18th birthday. We made a reservation. We had to wait about 15 minutes extra, ended up at a table too small for our group, as I think they sat another group at the table they told us would be ready shortly. It was very busy so the waitress rarely appeared, the food took forever and there was a VERY loud biker gang next to us dropping f-bombs every other word.
We were seated in the center of a large room with 3 parties of at least 10. It was loud, crowded and messy. We were lost in the shuffle, as the server was handling our table of two along with the parties. We had to ask for drinks ordered and not delivered. There was very little service at our table beyond ordering and check paying. I don't blame the server at all - she was overwhelmed. When making a reservation, I didn't expect to specifically request a quieter table in a restaurant of this stature. I could have gone to Red Lobster and had a more enjoyable atmosphere.
great food and the place was clean and very organized. Everyone seemed happy and were very attentive.
The service was great. When we made the reservation we noted that we were celebrating a birthday. The menu’s all said “Happy Birthday”! This was great as it’s the small details that make a difference. Everyone at the table (7) had seafood and it also was great. My only complaint was the mashed potatoes, they were just barely warm and other guests at the table had the same complaint about the potatoes but after a quick and quiet conversation with our server, she made it right! Great Birthday Dinner.
We were rushed.
I ordered the Clam Chowder and the Twin North Atlantic Lobster Tails with Lobster Bisque Mashed Potatoes. The chowder (although very good) was served with the entree, so I rushed through it so the entree wouldn’t get cold. But that didn’t matter bc the lobster bisque on the potatoes was already cold.
The lobster tails were small in my opinion, and bland. No seasoning at all.
I also ordered the Creme Brûlée. It was ok. Barely any caramelized sugar on top.
My son got the strip steak. He said it was very good. But then again he was starving, and it’s hard to f*** up a steak.
We were in and out in 35-40 min.
This place was packed, no one was spaced out.We were in a small party room filled with people and minimal ventilation. fA bus person walked around without a mask the entire time. The food was so so, not worth the price. We ordered drinks that came out after my salad, cause nothing goes better with salad than gin, right? The wine was warm. The waitress, although nice....was hurried. At one point before dessert she bussed all of our drinks, my glass was still filled with sparkling water. The meal wasn’t over. We won’t be back
We were looking for a good steak dinner at reasonable prices and we found it! We had a ribeye and a filet. They were perfectly cooked and tasted delicious! The only minor complaint about the food is the lobster mashed potatoes were a weird consistency and had no lobster in them or lobster flavor, they were really just a cheesy potatoe. The service was ok. Our server was nice, but it took forever to get a drink and then we waited quite a while to get our food, but when it arrived everything was hot and cooked just right.
We'll definitely go back!
Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed in the food here. My husband and I both ordered the bone in ribeye, which is supposed to be flavorful. My steak was so tough I couldn’t eat it and sent it back. It was not only incredibly fatty and exceptionally tough. They brought me another one and it was only marginally better. I’ve eaten bone-in ribeye in many fine restaurants and never had a steak like this. We will never return.
Great way to celebrate my birthday the food drink and waiters was awesome as well as the bar staff
I had a reservation for 7:45pm. At arrival I was told it was still going to be 30 min for a table. Because I have been fasting all day for religious reasons, I chose to take a table at the bar area rather than wait 30 min. We didn’t get our food until 9:15pm!!
We were pleasantly surprised on this Pittsburgh hidden secret. Our server was attentive, engaging and energetic. The price also very sensible for a steak house. I ordered the stuffed salmon and my boyfriend ordered the 8oz strip. Both entrees were so flavorful and satisfying. We were very impressed.
Great place to celebrate any special event and or first date.
Will definitely return when in the city!
Downtown lunch activity as of mid April 2021 is limited, and uneven. M&S can be busy, or like April 16, truly empty. So unlike pre-COVID when it was always jammed. Lunch pricing is quite reasonable (compared to dinners there), and the food for both of us was excellent and presented nicely as well. Service was attentive and friendly. I am sure that as downtown repopulates, this will once again become a "go to" downtown lunch location.
Great service, food, and atmosphere. Would recommend to others.
I had a business meeting lunch and everyone was very patient. The service was very attentive and the food as usual very good as well.
The food was delicious! The BEST Chilean sea bass I've ever eaten! Crab dip and bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizers were also delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent service and food selection. Food was prepared properly and was delicious.
Our go to restaurant...not anymore. We were prepared for an elegant, delicious Easter dinner but what we got was reheated, steam table quality, sat under a heat lamp too long meals. My lobster tail was so tough, the potatoes were actually shrunken from being reheated too many times, we were seated alone in a back room by a server station. The tables were dusty, our lamp had cobwebs on it. We order oysters as a starter and before we were done our regular appetizers came, a minute after that our salads and soup and before we could start on any of it our dinners came out. My daughter ordered a side of mashed and they gave her the table side shareable size. Our server was very inattentive and rushed us through what could have been a 2.5 hour dinner in 1 hour. A very expensive, 300.00 dinner.
Service was excellent. All the food we ordered was good. My fav was probably the shrimp kisses (appetizer) although everything was good, including main entre and dessert.
Love this restaurant. First time at this location. Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant.
The lobster had a very odd ammonia taste. I eat lobster all the time and first time I’ve ever experienced this. Not very tastey.
Late lunch - had dining room to ourselves
My daughter & I celebrated her 39th birthday & fully enjoyed the crumptious salmon, sauce & potato crusted pancake with spinach
As usual, outstanding food and service! I’ve never been disappointed here
Not enjoyable experience. Waited almost an hour for our entree. Server was apologetic but only offered anybody a non-alcoholic drink fo their troubles. Patrons sitting next to us smelled offensively of marijuana. Ambiance was poor as was the food. $47 for a steak that was tough and not tender. Lobster tails were over cooked. Not going back to this joint!
The Whiskey Glazed Salmon Special was fantastic. Incredible food quality.
We went to McCormick & Schmick’s on a Friday night because we heard they did a great job with distancing - and they did! The weekend before we went to Eddie V’s where every table was packed and it was very covid uncomfortable. Back to M&S- We had drinks and oysters, salad and entrees. The first funny thing was when I ordered a martini (it was good!) and the waitress said “so like a cosmo?” which I found amusing but it was then that I knew we were in for it! The timing of everything was so wild! Our salads came out before our oyster platter was removed from the table, and the next thing we knew, our entrees arrived! The service was crazy and we were basically being forced to eat as fast as we could. You shouldn’t turn a table in 45 mins if the customers are spending $200. It was crazy haha! I also accidentally got a little drunk because we had a pre-dinner drink and a couple glasses wine with our entrees. The food was good but I was really looking forward to a safe, fun, leisurely dinner and it was over before I knew it. Would recommend the oysters and bacon wrapped scallops, and maybe giving your waitress a timeline of when you want your food to arrive!
